To clean crumb tray: remove it from the toaster by pulling it from its slot, hand rinse all the surfaces with mild detergents, ensure that is completely dry! IMPORTANT WARNINGS We are not responsible for any damage caused by: - improper use or use that is not in compliance with the toaster’s intended usage; - repairs executed by unauthorised personnel. Do not make any technical adjustments to the machine, as this can be very dangerous. WARNING!! DANGER OF BURNS: The surface around the toaster slots becomes very hot when in use. Use handles or knobs or oven mitts to handle the toaster: especially the grill and tongs. Given the different international norms and laws, should the toaster be used in a country that is not the same as the one it was purchased in, we recommend that you take it to an authorised dealer to be examined. Ensure that the electric socket conforms to current regulations and that it be compatible with the toaster’s wattage. Always plug toaster into a plug that is connected to an earthing system. Use extension cables in good conditions with an earthing system plug and a cable that is the same width and length as the one that is provided with the toaster. The toaster must always stand vertically, not on its side, tilted or upside down. Before each use ensure that the crumb tray is in its slot. If the toaster is not functioning properly disconnect it. If you find pieces of bread in the grill after toasting, unplug the toaster and allow the machine to cool down before removing the residual pieces of bread. Use the toaster on a stable surface, keep away from water splashes and ensure it is not in enclosed space within the kitchen. Do not put the cable or plug in the toaster’s grill. Do nut unplug the toaster by pulling on the cable. Do not move or shift the toaster when in use. Never use the toaster without first checking it, especially when first using it or if the set up has changed. Only use the toaster for toasting. Do not touch the metallic or hot parts when the toaster is in use. Do not add accessories that have not been recommended by the manufacturer so as to avoid any danger. Do not use the toaster if: - the cable is damaged or defective - if the toaster was dropped and shows obvious signs of damage or malfunction. In all the above cases, in order to avoid any danger, we recommend bringing the toaster to the store (see warranty) Do not place the toaster on hot surfaces or allow contact with heat sources. Do not use the toaster as a heater or for drying things. Your toaster is made of different materials that can be recycled. It comes with a short cable so that it will not get tangled up with things or people or other longer cables. Long removable cables and extension cables are available and can be used only if the strict safety rules recommended by authorised electricians are respected. Do not use adapters or reducers. Should a long cable or extension cable be used, they must have the following characteristics:14 15
- have the same technical characteristics in terms of electrical properties as the toaster as specified on the label that can be found on the bottom of the toaster.
- The extension cable must be with an earth plug and therefore with three wires/poles. In any case a long cable or an extension cord must never protrude from furniture, tables or shelves to avoid being handled or tugged on by children. Do not place the toaster on or next to a hot stove, electric hobs or ovens. Do not use outdoors. Do not leave cables dangling from tables or counters or allow them to touch hot surfaces. Do not handle the toaster if the cable or plug are damaged or after it has malfunctioned or been damaged in any way. The surfaces near the toast slots become very hot when in use. For a proper use of the toaster, place it on a level surface, in a well-lit and clean environment with easy access to a socket. Keep the toaster at least 10 cm away from any walls. Never touch, for any reason, the toaster with wet or damp hands or with a damp or wet cloth. Always unplug the toaster when not in use or before cleaning it. FIRE WARNING!! A fire can break out if the toaster is covered when in use. Do not cover the toaster when in use. If you need to cover it, wait until it becomes cold. Sometimes bread can burn; the toaster therefore must not ever be used or placed near curtains or other inflammable materials (shelves, furniture…). Never put paper, cardboard or plastic inside, above or below the toaster. Should parts of the toaster catch fire, never attempt to extinguish the fire with water. Unplug the toaster and put out the flames with a damp cloth. Instructions for use
1. After removing the toaster from the packaging, ensure that it is in perfect
condition and carefully check that no materials, pieces of packaging, warranty papers and similar have fallen into the toast slots during transportation and the opening the package. The plastic bag must be kept away from children: if ingested it can cause suffocation. To remove any dust that might have collected on the toaster simply wipe with a soft dry cloth. After having checked the above-mentioned precautionary measures and after having scrupulously followed safety norms, proceed to plug in.
2. Follow safety regulations scrupulously when plugging in the toaster. The
toaster must be connected with the cable to a socket where the voltage is the same as indicated on the label on the bottom of the toaster. Ensure that you have earth grounding. Never using defective or damaged cables. Use extension cord only after you have ascertained that it is in perfect condition. Never place plugged in parts in water or near water: it can short circuit!! Scrupulously follow all and each of the above-mentioned safety norms. The toaster can give off a pungent smell or produce a little smoke the first time it is used: use once or twice without bread to eliminate the smell and possible residue. This is the normal consequence of the production process. The smell and light smoke are harmless and innocuous and will go away after the toaster has been used. Instructions and recommendations for use: Do not toast food that drips during toasting/cooking: not only does this make cleaning the toaster difficult; it can cause fires or electric shocks. It is of utmost importance that before each use the crumb tray be free of crumbs and possible drops of liquid. You cannot place pieces of bread that are larger than the slots in the slots. Do not insert aluminium or tin foil or kitchen utensils in the slots as this can cause people severe bodily harm, electric shocks and accidents. Do not use the toaster without the crumb tray, which must always be positioned correctly. After use, always unplug the toaster and empty the crumb tray and follow cleaning and maintenance instructions. You must use tongs with this toaster, in other words do not insert the bread without tongs. Toasting functions:
1. Insert bread slices with tongs into the slots.
2. Choose your desired setting: the toaster has a selection of settings from 1-9.
A higher number indicates a higher degree/longer toasting time. You may change the setting while toasting, even if it would be preferable to press the stop button and re-start the process. Depending on the new setting chosen the toasting process will be longer/shorter or come to a stop. Toasting starts with the position / number 1.
3. Pull down the lever that is on the side of the toaster. Only then will the
toasting begin and the led lights will come on. (the stop light will also come on). As time passes, the lights will go out slowly thus indicating the time left for completion of the toasting process. The speed at which the lights go out will depend on the time set.
4. Once the bread is toasted, the side lever will come and the lights will go out.
5. If you want to interrupt the toasting process simply press the stop button,
which stays on for the entire toasting process. The timer/selector does not move as time passes: that is what the led lights are for. Example: select setting 5, this number does not decrease; even once the bread is toasted the setting will remain at 5. Always unplug the cable when you have finished using the toaster!16 17 Defrosting: Defrosting will lengthen cooking time to allow the slices of bread to defrost before being toasted.
1. Put the frozen slices of bread with tongs in the slots.
2. Select the degree of toasting desired and pull down the lever. You can only
insert the defrost function once the lever is down. A blue light on the defrost button will light up.
3. Follow steps 4 and 5 from the toasting instructions.
Cleaning and maintenance: Always unplug the cable when not in use and before cleaning. Do not immerse or even partially immerse the cable, plug or toaster in water or other liquids.
1. Before cleaning the toaster it is imperative that it be unplugged. Do not
unplug by pulling on the cable.
2. Allow to cool down before adding or removing parts or before cleaning.
3. Only clean the outside surfaces of the toaster.
4. The toaster must be cleaned with a non-abrasive, dry or lightly damp cloth
with just a few drops of neutral detergent that is not aggressive. (never use solvents).
5. Only clean the control panel where the operating buttons are with a soft
6. The two bread tongs, once they have been removed from the toaster can be
washed by hand using neutral soaps. Before re-using and therefore placed back in their slots, ensure that they are perfectly dry.
7. To clean crumb tray:
- remove the tray from the toaster by pulling it from its slot;
- hand rinse all the surfaces with mild detergents
- ensure that it is completely dry before placing back into the toaster and slide into slot properly.
8. If any bread should get stuck in the slots:
- turn off and unplug the toaster
- turn the toaster upside and shake it gently and wait for the pieces to fall out naturally
9. Never insert any kind of utensil into the slots to remove bread or food residue:
the internal elements could get damaged and cause serious damage to the toaster and people may get electrocuted or be severely injured when using the machine on a subsequent occasion.
