This appliance has a two year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty.

If your device breaks down within the 2-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it.

The guarantee on accessories and components that are liable to wear-and-tear is only 6 months.

The guarantee and responsibility of the supplier and manufacturer lapse automatically in the following cases:

  • If the instructions in this manual have not been followed.
    In case of incorrect connection, e.g., electrical voltage that is too high.
    In case of incorrect, rough or abnormal use.
    In case of insufficient or incorrect maintenance.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  • Wipe the casing clean with a soft, damp cloth.

  • Clean the removable bowl, the lid, the measuring cup, the ladle and the steam basket in hot water with a mild detergent, rinse and dry.

USE

  1. If necessary, rinse the rice in a separate bowl. Do not use the removable bowl for this in order to prevent damage to the non-stick coating.
  2. Remove the removable bowl from the appliance. Measure the desired amount of rice and place this in the bowl. The ratio of rice to water can be determined in 2 ways: the number of measuring cups expressed in cups or amount of rice ml/l.

CUP

  • The content of the filled measuring cup (1 cup) is the same as approximately 125g of uncooked rice. This is the recommended amount of rice for 2 people.

  • The removable bowl has a level indication. This indicates the amount of rice with water. In order to determine the ratio of cups, look to the left of the line.

  • For example: if you place 1 full measuring cup of rice in the bowl, you add water to the bowl until it reaches line 1.
    A maximum of 7 full measuring cups can be cooked. Add water up to line 7.

LITRE

  • For this method, you can use any measuring cup. The indications 40, 80 and 120 on the measuring cup provided in the amount of rice in ml. A full measuring cup holds 150 ml of rice.

In order to determine the ratio of the litre method, look to the right of the line. Here, as well, the amount of rice and water is indicated and not the contents of the bowl.
- For example: if you wish to cook 200 ml / 0.2 ~L of rice, place it in the bowl and add water up to the line 0.2.

Caution: never fill the bowl higher than the maximum indication line.

  1. If drops form on the outside of the removable bowl, wipe them off with a soft cloth. Place the bowl in the appliance. Make sure that the rice is evenly spread in the bowl.
  2. Put the plug in the outlet. There is a power knob at the back of the appliance. Turn it on. The "hot" indicator light will light up. Push the on-off switch down. The "cook" indicator light will light up and the rice will begin to cook.
  3. Once the rice is cooked and all the water is gone, the on-off switch will go up by itself. The "cook" light will go out and the "hot" light will light up. The rice will not continue to cook but simply be kept hot.
  4. Remove the plug from the outlet. Open the lid. Caution: the steam is hot.
  5. Stir the rice with the ladle provided. Do not use any metal in the bowl, as this could damage the non-stick coating.

Caution: the removable bowl does get hot. Use oven gloves when removing the bowl from the appliance.

TIP

There is no timer on the rice cooker. It continues to operate until the water has gone. If you wish to cook the rice for a longer time, you will have to add more water.

USING THE STEAM BASKET

The rice cooker can also be used as a steam cooker.

  1. Fill the removable bowl with water. The amount of water depends on the foods that you wish to steam. Never fill it higher than the steam basket (line 3).
  2. Place your food in the steam basket and place this in the removable bowl. Put the lid on. Follow the same instructions as for cooking rice.
  3. The rice cooker stops steaming once the water is gone. If your food is cooked before then, it is possible to push the switch up manually. The remaining water can be drained.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Remove the plug from the outlet. Allow the appliance to cool after use.
  • Wipe the casing clean with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Clean the removable bowl, the lid, the measuring cup, the ladle and the steam basket in hot water with a mild detergent, rinse and dry.
  • Do not use any toxic or abrasive cleaning products.
  • Never immerse the casing in water.
  • The appliance and its parts are not dishwasher safe.
