How to install the SPD2515BD in my PC?

Open the case, insert the drive into a free 5.25-inch bay, secure it with the provided screws, then connect the SATA cable and power. Close the case and start the PC.

Is Nero software included?

Yes, a disc containing the Nero software suite is included in the package. Insert it and follow the instructions to install drivers and applications.

How to update the software?

Launch Philips Intelligent Agent from the Start menu, click 'Search for software updates' and follow the instructions to download the latest versions.

How to burn a video DVD?

In Nero, choose 'Create a video DVD' or 'Make Video DVD'. Add your video files, then select your SPD2515BD burner and click 'Burn'.

How to copy a disc?

Open Nero, choose 'Copy disc'. Select the source drive (the original) and the destination drive (SPD2515BD to burn the copy). Insert a blank disc and start the copy.

The burner is not recognized by Windows, what should I do?

Check that the SATA cable is properly connected. Try another SATA port. Update drivers via Device Manager. If the problem persists, visit www.philips.com/storageupdates.

What types of discs can I use?

The SPD2515BD supports DVD±R, DVD±RW, DVD+R DL, CD-R and CD-RW. Use quality brand discs for better reliability.

How to clean the drive?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For the disc tray, use a slightly dampened cotton swab. Never use chemicals.

Can I use this burner with a laptop?

No, the SPD2515BD is an internal burner designed for desktop computers. For a laptop, you would need an external USB burner.

What if the burning fails?

Try a better quality blank disc. Reduce the burning speed in Nero. Check that the source disc is not scratched. Make sure the software is up to date.
