This appliance has been built in accordance with the European CE safety standards. As for all electrical appliances, the necessary precautions need to be taken in order to avoid accidents and/or damages. All persons who have not read the instruction manual are not allowed to use this appliance. Pay ATTENTION to the warranty conditions For all supplementary information and practical tips about all our appliances please visit our website www.fritel.com SAFETY PRESCRIPTIONS ATTENTION please! Burning danger! Due to the use of the appliance the surface becomes hot. Only touch the handles or the control buttons when the appliance is in action. ATTENTION please! After switching off the appliance surfaces stay hot which causes burning danger. Let the appliance cool down completely before replacing it, cleaning it or putting it away. This appliance may not be used by children from 0 to 8 years old. This appliance may be used by children of min. 8 years old, only under continuous supervision. This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge on condition they are supervised or instructed to use the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall NOT be made by children. Cooking appliances need to be placed on a stable surface by17 means of the handles (if any) to avoid tilting/shifting and spilling of hot liquids. The appliance is only intended for household use and similar applications: - staff kitchens in shops, offices and other work environments; farms; - clients in hotels, motels and other residential environments; - bed & breakfast environments. The appliance is only intended for household use at room temperature. NEVER use the appliance outdoors. A damaged power cord can cause electric shocks. NEVER use the appliance if it is damaged, fallen or shows a malfunction, or if the power cord or plug are damaged. In all these cases return the appliance to your sales point or recognized after sales service. NEVER touch the control button, electrical power cord and plug with wet hands. NEVER immerse the appliance, the power cord or the plug in water (or any other liquid). They are only to be cleaned with a damp cloth. In case the appliance does get wet or moist, immediately disconnect the plug from the power socket. NEVER use separate timers or remote control systems. After use remove the plug from the electrical socket. Also remove the plug when the appliance is not in use, when you clean the appliance or when you move it. Always put the appliance on a stable and flat underground, like a kitchen counter or a table so that it cannot turn over or slide. Always place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface. A wooden surface always needs to be protected against the heat of the appliance. NEVER use extension cords or sockets. Place the appliance near a power point and connect it directly. Always completely unroll the power cord. NEVER let the cord hang over the edge of the table or the counter.18 NEVER place the appliance near heating sources like cookers, heating or oven. NEVER place the appliance and the power supply cord near water sources, such as a sink. NEVER cover the appliance when in use. Make sure there is a distance of minimum 30 cm between the appliance and the wall. Keep the appliance away from inflammable goods, such as curtains, textile, paper, Only use the appliance on the mains voltage as indicated on the id label. NEVER use the appliance without cheese or other food. Only use the original accessories.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Remove all packaging and stickers. Keep packing material away from children. The appliance is not assembled. Assemble it as described under ‘Assemble the appliance’ Clean the appliance as described under ‘Cleaning’. The appliance is ready for use.
ASSEMBLE THE APPLIANCE
Slide the height regulator (10) over the support (6) and then put the support in the support opening (12) on the base (14). Slide the height regulator to the desired height and tightly fasten the screw (11) on the height regulator. Tightly fasten the screw (13) on the support. Put the cord in the connection (3) The appliance is ready for use. WHAT CAN YOU MAKE WITH THE APPLIANCE?

Dessert: - Crème brulée - Crumble - ...19 USE Place the appliance on a stable base. Turn the cheese holder towards the outside and put a piece of cheese on the holder. Slide the cheese holder to the desired height with the height regulator, depending on the thickness of the cheese. ATTENTION: Always keep 2 cm distance to the heating element. Tightly fasten the screw (11). If you use a part of cheese, you can turn the cheese holder into a corner of 45°. Unscrew the screw (9), and adjust the cheese holder so that the upper side of the cheese lies horizontally. Then tighten the screw. Insert the plug in the socket and turn the thermostat knob into the desired position. The red control light will turn on. As soon as the desired temperature is reached the control light will turn off. When first in use, it is possible for some smoke to come from the appliance. This is normal and will disappear automatically. Turn the cheese holder below the heating element. Let the cheese melt below the heating element. ATTENTION: the appliance is now hot! TIP: Does the cheese not melt (enough)? Check points below: - Check if the plug is correctly inserted into the socket and into the connection of the appliance. - The cheese is too far from the heating element place the cheese holder on max. 2 cm of the heating element. - The chosen temperature is too low turn the thermostat knob higher. - The used cheese is not suited for melting Use raclette cheese. Turn the cheese holder away from the appliance with the handles as soon as the cheese is sufficiently melted. Scrape of the desired amount of cheese. After 2 or 3 portions, remove the excess of crust before you continue. Push the cheese holder back below the heating element. If necessary, adjust the height of the cheese holder. ATTENTION The appliance is hot! To change the height of the cheese holder while in use, use oven gloves. After use, turn the thermostat knob off and pull the plug from the socket and from the connection of the appliance. Let the appliance completely cool down before you move, dismount or clean the appliance.20 CLEANING The appliance needs to be completely cooled down before you dismount or clean it. First dismount the appliance. In order to do this, follow the steps as mentioned in ‘Assemble the appliance’ but the other way around. Clean the cheese holder with warm water and some soap. Do not use any scourer or abrasive products. Clean the appliance with a clean humid cloth. If needed, remove the heat reflector and clean with warm water and some soap. Do not use any scourer or abrasive products. Carefully dry off all the parts. Put the appliance away in a stable dry place.
USEFUL TIPS IN CASE OF MALFUNCTIONS

DEFECTS AND/OR DAMAGES FOLLOWING TO THE NON OBSERVANCE OF THE USER MANUAL ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. We reserve the right to carry out technical modifications. WARRANTY CONDITIONS Your warranty starts on the day of purchase. The warranty lasts 2 years. Determination of warranty: The warranty covers every repair and/or replacement free of charge of the parts recognized defective by our Department of Service after Sale if the damage is due to faulty design, material or construction. The warranty does not cover damage or normal wear of the baking plate. The warranty is only valid for the first/original user. The transport costs are at the expenses of the purchaser. The warranty is only granted after presentation of your purchase invoice. The warranty cannot be invoked for normal wear and tear. The warranty expires automatically in the following cases: Incorrect connection, e.g. electric voltages. Abnormal or professional use or misuse handling Lack of care and cleaning Modifications or repairs made to the appliance by persons not authorized by us as a manufacturer.21 When reference numbers have been altered or been removed. When not respecting the instructions in the user instructions ENVIRONMENT Do not throw the appliance away with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this you will help to preserve the environment.
