  • Remove the baking plates and the pans from the appliance. Clean the baking plates and the pans as described under ‘Cleaning’ before the first use.
  • Put the baking plates back into the appliance.
  • The appliance is now ready for use.16
  • Plug in the power cord. The control lamp turns red to show that the appliance is connected to the power supply.
  • Turn the thermostat to MAX. The control lamp lights up green to indicate that the appliance is heating up. Once the green control lamp goes out, the appliance has warmed up to the set temperature.
  • After 20 minutes, turn the thermostat to 0.
  • ATTENTION: Upon the first use, there might be a slight odor or smoke output. This is normal.
  • Turn off the appliance again, pull the cord from the socket.
  • Let the appliance cool down completely.
  • Completely unroll the power cord, and plug in the appliance in a 230 V socket.
  • Turn the appliance on by means of the thermostat button.
  • ATTENTION: the appliance will now get hot. Let the appliance heat up for about 10 minutes. If you heat it too much the stone gets too hot and you will not get optimal results.
  • Put the chosen food on the baking plates or in the pans and put them under the grill.
  • ATTENTION: do NOT use frozen food! If you use defrosted food, make sure to pat the excess fluid with a paper towel, otherwise you will not get a perfect result.
  • Place the stone on the side on the base where the control lamps are located. The grease groove should be facing up. Place the grill surface on the other side of the base. Here you can choose whether to use the ribbed grill surface or the smooth surface.

  • Stone: o The stone takes 30 minutes to heat up. o TIP: Sprinkle some salt on the stone to avoid burnt-on food. o ATTENTION: the stone may NEVER be in contact with acid food of with food seasoned with vinegar, mustard, pickles, … o The heat causes the stone to expand, which can result in small cracks. This is a natural process and has no influence on the working of the appliance. o After a couple uses the stone turns darker, this is normal for a natural stone. o ATTENTION: never place the stone in the dishwasher. o TIP: To remove unwanted odours, such as fish smell, rub the stone grill with lemon juice.
  • Do not use sharp utensils to turn or (re)move the food as they could damage the non-stick coating of the plate or pans.
