IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please read the following instructions carefully and completely before assembling and using the appliance. Please keep this instruction manual in a safe place so that you can consult the operating instructions at any time. All of the directions given in this instruction manual are to be followed precisely as described.

Caution - danger! Whenever you see this symbol in the operating instructions, it indicates that extreme caution is imperative.

Warning - hot surfaces! Risk of skin burns from hot surfaces. Always wear protective gloves.

Failure to observe these safety instructions can result in very serious injuries or property damage caused by fire or explosion.

Caution!

Intended use:

The gourmet ring may only be used as an accessory for a kettle grill for barbecueing with charcoal or gas and cooking food that is suitable for barbecueing. Any other type of use is prohibited and may be dangerous. Use with other types of barbecue is also prohibited. See list on page 13

CAUTION! ALWAYS KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM THE GRILL!

ALWAYS SUPERVISE THE GRILL WHEN IN USE!

Follow the safety instructions for the grill.

Only use the RÖSLE gourmet ring as described.

There is an increased risk of fire when barbecueing. Always have a fire extinguisher ready in case of an accident or mishap.

Always place the gourmet ring on the barbecue outdoors on a firm, level surface sheltered from the wind.

CAUTION - RISK OF FATAL INJURY! Never use methylated spirits, petrol or any other highly flammable liquid to light or relight the appliance. Only use lighting aids that conform to EN 1860-3.

If using lighting fluid, please make sure that none is spilt near the grill. Please mop up any spills immediately with a cloth and dispose of the cloth.

Do not put lighting fluid or charcoal impregnated with lighting fluid onto burning, hot or warm charcoal. When lighting the charcoal, leaping flames and explosion-like detonations that are capable of causing life-threatening injuries could occur. Seal the lighting fluid after use and place it a safe distance from the grill.

CAUTION! Children and pets should never be left unattended near to a hot grill with gourmet ring. Never leave the grill unattended when it is in use.

CAUTION! This gourmet ring and the kettle grill with which it is used get very hot and must not be moved while in use. Exercise the proper care when using the grill.

Other important notes on potential hazards

Do not use in enclosed spaces as otherwise poisonous vapours may collect that could cause serious or even fatal damage to health.

Only use the gourmet ring and grill outdoors in a well-ventilated position. Do not use the grill in a garage, a building, walkways/corridors between buildings or any other locations surrounded by building structures. Never operate the grill underneath combustible rooves, canopies, etc.

Incorrect assembly may cause risks. Please follow to the letter the assembly instructions provided separately. Do not use this accessory or the grill until all components have been properly assembled.

Exercise the proper care when using the grill. When barbecueing, the grill becomes hot. Never leave the grill unattended when it is in use.

• When barbecueing, always wedrarbecue gloves.
• Never make any modifications to the product.

• Damaged appliances or accessories must not continue to be used.

• The manufacturer accepts no liability whatsoever for damage caused by incorrect, careless or negligent use or use other than intended.

• The manufacturer accepts no responsibility whatsoever for damage occurring during use of the appliance or for complaints from third parties.
• Not for public or commercial use.
• Whenever using this gourmet ring and the grill on which it is fitted, make sure it is at least 1.5m away from any combustible or heat-sensitive materials. Combustible materials include, for example (but not only), wood, treated wood floors, wooden decking and wooden porches or patios.
• The consumption of alcohol and/or prescription or non-prescription medication may impair the ability of the user to properly assemble and safely operate the grill.
• This appliance is not intended to be used by people (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or without the necessary experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or are instructed by such a person on how the appliance is to be used.

Some (chemical/poisonous) by-products produced when barbecueing, especially if the appliance is not used properly or unsuitable lighting materials are used, can be harmful to health. This can lead to cancer, problems in pregnancy and other consequential harm.

The gourmet ring is an ideal addition to the RösLE No.1 kettle grills with a diameter of 60~cm

So that you are able to enjoy the product for many years, please read the following product information, handling and care instructions and safety guidance.

The RÖSLE gourmet ring in detail

First-time use

Make sure that your kettle grill has been properly set up according to the manufacturer's assembly instructions.

• Fit the gourmet ring on your kettle grill as described in the assembly instructions on page 5.
• Start up the kettle grill as described in the manufacturer's operating instructions.

Note:

The stainless steel gourmet ring will discolour due to the effect of heat when in use so that it acquires a brown and blueish tinge; that is an inherent characteristic of the material and has no effect whatsoever on its function. It does not constitute grounds for complaint.

For pizza baking, approx. 3kg of barbecue briquettes are required. Use a barbecue starter to quickly get the briquettes glowing hot.

• As soon as the top layer of barbecue briquettes has a light covering of ash, put your barbecue gloves on.

CAUTION! Risk of skin burns

• Tip the glowing briquettes from the barbecue starter into the basket until it is well filled.
• Spread the remaining charcoal evenly over the grate below the pizza stone.
• Using barbecue tongs, lay the barbecue briquettes flat on the charcoal grate. Avoid creating heaps/pi-les.
• Insert the pizza rack complete with pizza stone.
• Close the lid to allow the complete grill including pizza stone to heat up (this takes about 15 minutes).
• Open the lid and place two beechwood chunks (about 4 × 4 × 15cm ), evenly spaced, directly on the glowing charcoal in the charcoal basket. Use barbecue tongs to do so.
• Close the lid. The beechwood chunks provide the necessary overhead heat for pizza baking so that the desired browning on top is achieved.
• Wait until the beechwood chunks are burning and the lid thermometer shows a temperature of about 300^ .
• Slide the prepared pizza on a sheet of baking paper onto the pizza stone. Use a pizza slice to do so.

Make sure that the baking paper does not hang over the edge of the pizza stone as it could catch fire.

After about 2-3 minutes, take the pizza out of the grill using the pizza slice and remove the baking paper. Rotate the pizza 180^ and slide it back onto the pizza stone in the grill.
- The pizza should be ready after a total cooking time of about 6 minutes.
To check, you can lift the edge of the pizza with the pizza slice to see how the base has browned.

Cleaning and storage

• Make sure that the grill has cooled down by checking the thermometer temperature.

• Make sure that the charcoal does not contain any glowing embers at all. Allow the charcoal enough time to completely cool down.

• Take out the grates and remove the gourmet ring if necessary.

• Clean the gourmet ring using a mild detergent and water. Rinse it thoroughly with clean water and then dry the surfaces.
  To ensure your gourmet ring gives you long service, we recommend that after the grill has completely cooled down, you store it in a dry place where it is protected from the weather.

If you follow those tips, your RÖSLE gourmet ring will give you many years of reliable service.

This product is protected by the statutory guarantee of 2 years.

Disposal

Your new appliance was protected in transit by the materials it was packed in. All of the packing materials used are environmentally friendly and re-usable. Please help to make a contribution by disposing of the packing responsibly. Your dealer or your local recycling facility will be able to inform you about the available disposal methods.

Do not allow children to play with the packing or parts of it. Risk of suffocation from foil and other packing materials

Used appliances are not worthless scrap. Valuable raw materials can be recovered by recycling the product in an ecologically responsible manner. Ask your municipal or local authority about the possibilities for proper and ecological recycling of the appliance.
