How to install the eufyCam camera?

To install the camera, start by plugging in the HomeBase using the Ethernet cable and power adapter. Download the eufy Security app from the App Store or Google Play, create an account, and follow the on-screen instructions. Mount the camera using the included bracket, indoors or outdoors, and use the 'Mounting Guide' feature to check the Wi-Fi signal quality.

How to connect the HomeBase to the Internet?

Turn on the HomeBase and connect it to your router using the included Ethernet cable. The LED light turns white (this may take up to 1 minute) when the connection is established. Make sure your router is on and the cable is properly connected.

How to charge the camera?

Use the included micro-USB cable to connect the camera to the charging port on the back of the HomeBase. Fast charging takes less than 4 hours. The LED light turns solid red during charging and turns off once the battery is full. You can also use a 5V USB charger, but the charging time will be longer.

Where to mount the camera for best detection?

Mount the camera at a height of 2 to 3 meters from the ground. This optimizes the detection range of the motion sensor. Avoid exposing the camera to direct sunlight. Use the 'Mounting Guide' feature in the app to test the wireless signal strength at the chosen location.

What to do if the Wi-Fi signal is weak?

If the wireless signal strength is weak, move the camera as close to the HomeBase as possible. You can also use a Wi-Fi extender or move the HomeBase for better coverage. Check that the distance between the camera and HomeBase does not exceed the recommended range (usually 30 meters outdoors).

How to download the eufy Security app?

The eufy Security app is available for free on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices. Download it, create an account, and then follow the instructions to set up your camera system.

Is the camera waterproof?

Yes, the eufyCam has an IP65 protection rating, making it resistant to rain and dust. It can be installed outdoors, but avoid exposing it to direct water jets or submersion.

How to mount the camera outdoors?

Use the included outdoor bracket. Drill holes with a 6 mm drill bit, insert the anchors (required for hard walls like concrete), then screw in the bracket base. Attach the ball joint bracket, then the eufyCam. Adjust the viewing angle by checking the live feed on the app.

How to mount the camera indoors?

For indoor mounting, you can attach the camera directly to a flat metal surface or use the indoor bracket. Drill a hole (use the drywall anchor), secure the hook, hang the bracket, then attach the camera. Adjust the viewing angle via the app.

What to do if there is a problem with the camera?

Consult the 'Help' section in the eufy Security app for troubleshooting. Check that the camera is charged and that the HomeBase is turned on and connected to the Internet. If the LED light does not come on, contact Anker customer service. The warranty covers manufacturing defects.

Connect the HomeBase to the Internet

1. Power on the HomeBase, then use the ethernet cable provided to connect the HomeBase.

Download the eufy Security app from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices).

Sign up for a eufy Security account, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the setup.

Find a Good Mounting Spot

Signal Strength

Use the "Mounting Guide" function, found at the end of the setup process or under Camera Settings > Mounting Guide, to test the wireless signal strength of eufyCam at the location you wish to mount the camera. Move the camera as close to the HomeBase as possible if the wireless signal strength is poor.

Height and Location

Hang eufyCam 7-10 ft (2-3 m) above the ground. This height maximizes the detection range of the motion sensor of eufyCam. Avoid placing eufyCam under direct sunlight.

Mounting the Camera Outdoors

Outdoor mount is designed specifically for outdoor environment.

Drill holes with a 15/64 in (6 mm) drill bit, then insert the anchors into the holes; anchors are necessary for walls that are made out of hard materials such as concrete, brick, or stucco.

Screw the base of the outdoor mount onto the wall. Fasten the ball bracket of the outdoor mount to the base of the outdoor mount.

Fasten eufyCam to the outdoor mount and adjust the viewing angle by checking the live stream feed in the eufy Security app.

Mounting the Camera Indoors

Stick the camera directly to any flat surface made out of iron. Or you can use the indoor mount to mount the camera:

Drill a hole. Use the included anchor if it's drywall and fasten the hook.

Use the provided micro-USB charging cable to connect eufyCam to the camera charging port on the backside of the HomeBase. Charging a camera takes approximately 4 hours; it will take longer if you charge the camera via a universal 5V USB charger.

The LED indicator turns solid red during charging, and goes off once eufyCam is fully charged.
