USER MANUAL SSP 900 Efbe-Schott

q Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.

q Only use the appliance in the way indicated in this instruction manual.

q Should you hand over the appliance to another user, make sure to hand over the instruction manual together with the appliance.

q Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.

q Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.

q People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance without supervision or instructions of a responsible person.

q Close supervision is necessary if children are near the appliance in order to avoid that they use it as a toy.

q From time to time check the cord and the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord, plug or appliance shows any signs of damage. All repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician(1).

q Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.

q Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.

q Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.

q Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and remove the plug from the appliance. Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.

q Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use.

q Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with inflammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc... when it is in use, as a fire might occur. Do not put the appliance on hot surfaces or near open gas flames as the housing might melt.

q Be extremely careful, as oil or fat preparations might catch fire when overheated.

q Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.

Competent qualified service: after-sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In case of need you should return the appliance to this service.

ATTENTION: Never use the appliance for longer than an hour non-stop at its maximum temperature!

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

It is necessary to attach the handle of the lid to the lid before the first use. Therefore put the screw into the hole of the lid (from the inside to the outside), position the plastic ring on the other side of the lid, and turn the handle to attach it to the outside of the lid (over the ring) without overtightening.
Clean the pan and the accessories (see "Cleaning and Care"). It is advisable to preheat the pan for approximately 10 minutes without foodstuffs in it to remove bad odours.
- Provide proper ventilation during this operation.

ATTENTION: When preparing food or when cleaning, never use brushes with metal or nylon bristles, sharp utensils or knives. Avoid damages to the non-stick coating.

OPERATION

  • Insert the pin jack with thermostat into the appliance (fig. A), and make sure that the temperature selector switch is in the OFF position. Then plug in the appliance.

Put the thermostat on a position between 1 and 5. The indicator lamp comes on, indicating that the appliance is heating.

-Preheat the appliance for 5 to 10 minutes, until the ideal temperature is reached. As soon as this temperature is reached, the indicator lamp comes off.
- Then put the foodstuffs into the pan.
The cooking time depends on the type of food. But never use the appliance for longer than an hour with the thermostat adjusted on the maximum temperature.

  1. Grease the pan a little or use some frying oil.
  2. Turn the thermostat and select the heating level.

Glass lid

Use the glass lid when possible, depending on the foodstuffs. The lid avoids splashes of grease/oil and retains the heat in the pan, so that the cooking time diminishes.

ATTENTION

The glass lid has a small opening, from which hot air or steam might escape! Avoid direct contact. Danger of burning!

The glass lid may get very hot, please use oven gloves.

After use

Turn the adjusting knob to position 0^ . Unplug the appliance after use. Let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning or storing it.

CLEANING AND CARE

  • Always disconnect the power supply cable from the power supply before carrying out any cleaning operation.
  • Let the appliance cool down and pull the thermostat out of the appliance by pulling at its connector.
  • Do not immerse the appliance completely in water or any other liquid. Clean the outside of the appliance with slightly damp cloth.
  • Do not use any aggressive detergents or abrasive cleaners, as these could damage the non-stick coating.

For our products, the legal terms concerning claims under guarantee are valid. During the legal period, all material and manufacturing defects are covered. No claims will be accepted for broken accessories, defects resulting from inappropriate use or care, excessive wear due to intensive use, wrong use due to the non-observation of the instruction manual, or normal wear and tear. No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been modified or if attempts have been made to repair the appliance. In such case, the vendor cannot be held responsible in case of accidents.

If you detect a defect, please contact your vendor or shop and return your complete appliance in its original packaging together with the receipt. Claims under guarantee will only be valid if the receipt or a copy of a repair bill is handed over with the appliance that needs repair.

In case of a defective accessory, the complete appliance will not be exchanged, but only the accessory will be sent free of charge. In such case, do not return the complete appliance but only order the accessory! In case of glass damages, glass spare parts will be charged. Pieces undergoing wear and tear as well as cleaning and maintenance or the exchange of worn out pieces are not covered by the guarantee and will thus be charged!

Repairs after the guarantee period can be performed at a charge by a competent qualified technician or a repair service.
