Caution! Danger of electric shock!

• Never put the appliance, cord or plug into water or any other liquid.

• Do not use the appliance near a sink or wash basin.

• Do not use the appliance with wet hands.

• Do not use the appliance outdoors. An electric appliance is not a toy!

• Never leave the appliance unattended during use.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

• Always unplug your appliance when it is not in use, and before cleaning.

• Always pull the plug – not the cord.

• Keep the appliance and the cord well away from any hot surfaces to avoid any damage to the appliance.

• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system. Special Safety Instructions Warning! To avoid the possibility of injury/damage to the appliance, electric shock, and risk of burns.

• Your kettle is only intended for boiling water. Never attempt to heat any other liquids in it.

• Place the appliance on an even and heat-resistant surface.

• Do not place the kettle near any inammable objects.

• Never exceed the maximum lling level (1.7 L) to avoid any boiling water from spilling from the kettle. Danger of serious burns!

• Never open the lid during operation.

• Always remove the kettle from the power base when filling it with water.

• To prevent the kettle from boiling dry, make sure the water level is never below minimum lling (0.5 L).

• The automatic switch-off function will automatically switch off the appliance as soon as the boiling temperature has been reached, provided that you have thoroughly closed the lid. Otherwise boiling water could spill.Instruction Manual ENGLISH

• Your kettle also features a boil-dry cut-out, which will switch off the kettle, should it accidentally be operated without water. In the event of such a safety cut-out switch off the appliance immediately, unplug it and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, your kettle is ready for use again.

• Only use the appliance with the base provided.18

Temperature indicator lights During operation, the indicator lights of the temperature indicator light up in the following colors. 50 °C - green 70 °C - blue 80 °C - purple 90 °C - light green 100 °C - red 50 °C 70 °C 80 °C 90 °C 100 °C Before First Use

• Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is undamaged and complete.

• Fully unwind the power cord (9) and make sure that the power cord (9) is clamped into the cable guide (10) (rear side).

• Place the appliance on an even and heat resistant surface. Do not place it on top of a metal surface.

• Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket and boil 4-5 kettles of water using fresh water with each boiling cycle. Do not use this water but pour it away.

Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and

babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation.20 Operation Your appliance is fitted (inside the spout) with a scale filter that prevents scale particles ending up in your beverage.

1. Open the lid (4) by pressing onto the lid opening button

(5). Hold the kettle (1) in an upright position to ll it with water. Make sure to ll in the MIN amount of water (0.5L) to avoid overheating. Info: The kettle can also be filled with water when the lid (2) is closed by lling it through the spout (3).

2. Close the lid (4).

3. Place the kettle (1) onto the base (8) and make sure it

properly fits onto the contact unit.

4. Once the kettle is placed onto the base and connected to

the mains a buzzer sound will sound twice and all indicator lights will ash up consecutively (red, green, blue, etc.) before entering into standby mode.

5. Switch on the water kettle by pressing the On/Off button

on the key panel (7). The red indicator light of the On /Off button lights up and the boiling process starts. Note: If no temperature is chosen, the appliance will automatically choose the default setting of 100°C,.

6. As soon as the temperature is reached a buzzer sound

sounds twice and the appliance switches off automatically and enters into standby mode. provided that the lid was thoroughly closed the lid (4). Otherwise boiling water could spill. The indicator light switches off as well. Note: If you wish to adjust the water temperature during the boiling process: - Switch off the appliance by pressing the On/Off button.Instruction Manual ENGLISH

- Choose the temperature by pressing the -/+ temperature button. The respective indication light (green, blue, etc.) lights up. - Press the On/Off button to switch the appliance back on. The adjustable water temperature ranges from 50° - 100°. Note: The boiling temperature can vary between + 3 °C.

7. Lift the kettle (1) off the base (8). The water is now ready

for use. You can stop the boiling process any time by pushing the On/Off button on the key panel (7). Water left over from a previous boiling cycle can be re-used in the next boiling cycle. However, always make sure that the water level is not too low. Always unplug the appliance after use. Recommendation: if you are not using he appliance disconnect it from the mains! Dry-boil cut-out Your kettle is equipped with a boil-dry cut-out, which will switch off the kettle automatically, should it accidentally be operated without water or by not observing the minimum water level. In the event of such a safety cut-out, switch off the appliance immediately, unplug it and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, your kettle is ready for use again.22 Cleaning and Care Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains. Let it completely cool down. Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock! Clean the body of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. DESCALING Descale your appliance in regular intervals (approx. every 3 – 6 months), depending on the frequency of use and the local water quality. Never use any sharp, pointed or metal objects to remove limescale built up in the kettle. To remove limescale, use a common gentle descaler, which is suitable for your appliance. After descaling, always boil 4-5 kettles of water, which you do not use but pour away. Use fresh water with each boiling cycle. This procedure is necessary to remove any descaler residues in the kettle. Note: Descaler mixtures should not be poured down enamel coated sinks.Instruction Manual ENGLISH

Storage After use and after the appliance has completely cooled down wind the power cable (9) around the cord storage (11). Keep it away from children and store it in a clean and dry place. Disposal Instructions Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with your household waste, but are to be collected separately. Therefore, please return this device at the end of its life cycle to special collection points for disposal or your local dealer. Your Water Kettle 20690 is packed in a retail box.
