These Operating Instrucons are a component of 99244 milk frother and provide you with important information for the initial commissioning, safety, intended use and care of the device.
The Opera ng Instruc ons must be available at all mes at the device. This Opera ng Manual must be read and applied by every person who is instructed to work with the device:

- Cleaning
Keep the Operating Manual in a safe place and pass it on to the subsequent owner along with the device.

2 Safety
This chapter provides you with important safety no ces when handling the device. The device corresponds with the required safety regula ons. Improper use can result in personal or property damages.
2.1 Intended use
This device is only intended for use in households in enclosed spaces for
• making milk foam and hea ng milk
Uses for a different purpose or for a purpose which exceeds this descrip on are considered incompatible with the intended or designated use.

Danger due to unintended use!
Dangers can emanate from the device if it is used for an unintended use and/or a different kind of use.
- Use the device exclusively for its intended use.
- Observe the procedural methods described in this Operating Manual.
- ATTENTION! ONLY USE THE ORIGINAL POWER BASE TO HEAT THE DEVICE!
Claims of all kinds due to damages resul ng from unintended uses are excluded.
The User bears the sole risk.
2.2 General Safety informa on
PLEASE NOTE
Please observe the following general safety no ces with regard to the safe handling of the device.
- Examine the device for any visible external damages prior to using it. Never put a damaged device into opera on.
- If the connec on lead is damaged, you will need to have a new connec on lead installed by an authorized electrician.
- The appliance is not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruct on concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety; children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruct on concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- Do not leave the device unsupervised when it is in opera on.
- Only qualified electricians, who have been trained by the manufacturer, may carry out any repairs that may be needed. Improperly performed repairs can cause considerable dangers for the user.
- Only customer service departments authorized by the manufacturer may carry out repairs on the device during the guarantee period, as otherwise the guarantee en tlements will be null and void in the event of any subsequent damages.
- Defec ve components must always be replaced with original replacement parts. Only such parts will guarantee that the safety requirements are fulfilled.
- Do not use other liquids than milk.
2.3 Danger of burns
DANGER
The heated milk in the milk frother and the interior of the jug can get very hot.
Observe the following safety instruc ons and be careful not to burn or scald yourself or others:
- When the milk is heated, the interior of the jug gets very hot!
• Always check the temperature of the milk, before drinking it. - When you are hea ng the milk, keep the lid closed.
2.4 Dangers due to electrical power
DANGER
Mortal danger due to electrical power!
Mortal danger exists when coming into contact with live wires or subassemblies!
Observe the following safety no ces to avoid dangers due to electrical power:
- If the connec on lead is damaged, you will need to have a special connec on lead installed by an authorized electrician.
- Do not operate this device if its power cable or plug is damaged, if it does not work properly or if it is damaged or has been dropped. If the power cable is damaged, it will need to be replaced by the manufacturer or his service agency or a similar qualified person, to avoid any dangers.
- Do not open the housing on the device under any circumstances. There is a danger of an electrical shock if live connec ons are touched and the electrical or mechanical structure is altered. In addi on, func onal faults on the device can also occur.
3 Commissioning
This chapter provides you with important safety no ces during the initial commissioning of the device. Observe the following no ces to avoid dangers and damages:
3.1 Safety informa on

- Packaging materials may not be used for playing. There is a danger of su oca on.
3.2 Delivery scope and transport inspec on
As a rule, the milk frother is delivered with the following components:
- Milk farther
• Whisk for frothing and hea ng - Opera ng Instruc ons
PLEASE NOTE
- Examine the shipment for its completeness and for any visible damages.
- Immediately no fy the carrier, the insurance and the supplier about any incomplete shipment or damages as a result of inadequate packaging or due to transporta on.
3.3 Unpacking
Unpack your device as follows:
• Take out the device from the box and remove the interior and exterior packaging.
- Clean the appliance thoroughly before the first use. (see chapter Cleaning and maintenance)
3.4 Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device against damages during transit. The packaging materials are selected in accordance with environmentally compatible and recycling-related points of view and can therefore be recycled.
Returning the packaging back to the material loop saves raw materials and reduces the quan es of accumulated waste. Take any packaging materials that are no longer required to "Green Dot" recycling collec on points for disposal.
PLEASE NOTE
- If possible, keep the original packaging for the device for the dura on of the guarantee period of the device, in order that the device can be re-packaged properly in the event of a guarantee claim.
3.5 Setup loca on requirements:
In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free opera on of the device, the setup loca on must ful ll the following prerequisites:
- The device must be set up on a rm, at, horizontal surface with sufficient load-bearing capacity.
- Choose the setup loca on in such a way that children cannot reach the device.
- The device is not intended to be installed in a wall or a built-in cupboard.
- Do not set up the device in a hot, wet or extremely damp environment or near ammable material.
- The electrical socket must be easily accessible so that the power lead can be disconnected easily, in the case of an emergency.
- The installa on and assembly of this device in non-stationary setup loca ons (e.g. on ships) must be carried out by specialist companies / electricians, provided they guarantee the prerequisites for the safe use of this device.
3.6 Electrical connec on
In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free opera on of the device, the following instructions must be observed for the electrical connec on:
- Before connec ng the device, compare the connec on data (voltage and frequency) on the ra ng plate with those of your electrical network. This data must agree in order that no damages occur in the device If in doubt, ask your quali ed electrician.
- The electrical outlet must be protected by a 16A safety cut-out switch.
- The connec on between the device and the electrical network may employ a 3 meter long (max.) extension cable with a cross-sec on of 1.5 ~mm^2 . The use of mul ple plugs or gangs is prohibited because of the danger of re that is involved with this.
- Make sure that the power cable is undamaged and has not been installed under the ice maker or over hot or sharp surfaces.
- The electrical safety of the device is only guaranteed if the device is connected to a properly installed protec ve conductor system. Opera ons using an electrical outlet without a protec ve conductor are prohibited. If in doubt, have the house installa on checked over by a quali ed electrician. The manufacturer cannot be made responsible for damages that are caused by a missing or damaged protec ve conductor.

5 Opera on and Handing
This chapter provides you with important no ces with regard to opera ng the device. Observe the following no ces to avoid dangers and damages:
WARNING
- Do not leave the device unsupervised when it is in opera on, so that you can intervene quickly in the event of dangers.
5.1 Assembly disassembly of mixing a achments
You will nd the accessories on the underside of the base.
- Select a mixing attachment and press it onto the shaft at the bottom of the jug.
- To detach the mixing attachments, pull them upwards.
PLEASE NOTE:
The mixing achments can be detached more easily if you remove the jug from the base beforehand.
5.2 Bu on Func ons

Cold frothing or s rring

Hot s rring, e.g. sauces, milk or drinking chocolate

5.3 Switching on / o
- You can turn the appliance on with the function keys. The buttons light up to indicate the function.
- The appliance will turn off automatically. The turn-off me varies depending on the jug contents and func on. (approx. 4 minutes)
- If you would like to abort the process beforehand, press the previously selected function key one more me. Alterna vely you can remove the jug from the base
NOTE:
When you remove the jug from the base following opera on, the bu on with the symbol will ash. Once you have set the jug back onto the base, the ashing will stop.
5.4 Capacity
The jug holds between 250 and 450 ml.
Frothing milk
Install the foam blender (9).
CAUTION:
Observe the capacity marking MAX, otherwise the milk will foam over.
NOTE:
- For optimum results use milk with 3.5% fat content and fill in 225 ml.
- Milk with 1.5% fat content and soy milk or lactose-free milk does not froth as well.
Hea ng up drinking chocolate
Install the hot milk blender (10).
CAUTION:
- Only add the cocoa powder after the milk, otherwise the mixing attachment will clog up otherwise.
- Do not fill above the MAX mark, otherwise the beverage will over ow.
5.5 Opera on
Use a mixing a achment and the func on key for the applica on according to the following table.

- Fit a mixing a achment.
- Fill the liquid into the jug.
- Put on the lid.
- Press a func on key.
- Either wait for the automa c shut-o or press the func on key again to cancel the opera on.
- If you want to end the opera on, disconnect the mains plug.
6 Cleaning and Maintenance
This chapter provides you with important no ces with regard to cleaning and maintaining the device. Please observe the no ces to prevent damages due to cleaning the device incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free opera on.
6.1 Safety informa on
ATTENTION
Please observe the safety instructons, before cleaning your ice maker.
- Before cleaning switch o the unit and take the power plug out of the outlet.
- Clean the unit with a so cloth.
- Don't clean the ice maker with in ammable detergents.
- Clean the ice maker again thoroughly when the machine hasn't been used for a long me.
6.2 Cleaning
- Take o the lid with the whisk. You can remove the magne c whisk from the side from its holder.
- Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the jug because the coa ng could by damaged.
- Clean the lid and the whisk with lukewarm water. Rinse out the interior of the jug with lukewarm water.
- Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
- Jug and basis are not suitable for dish washer.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
7 Security advices
ATTENTION
- Repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel who are trained by the manufacturer.
- Repairs performed by untrained persons may result in considerable hazards for the user and damage the machine.
8 Disposal of the Old Device

Old electric and electronic devices frequently sell contain valuable materials. However, they also contain damaging substances, which were necessary for their functionality and safety. If these were put in the non-recyclable waste or were handled incorrectly, they could be
detrimental to human health and the environment. Therefore, do not put your old device into the non-recyclable waste under any circumstances.

- Ensure that your old device is stored safely away from children until it is taken away.
9 Guarantee
- We provide a 24 month guarantee for this product, commencing from the date of sale, for faults which are a ributable to produce or material faults.
- Your legal guarantee en tlements in accordance with § 439 . BGB-E remain una ected by this.

Consumables, transit damages, inasmuch as we are not responsible for these, as well as damages, which were incurred as a result of any repairs that were not performed by us, are also excluded from the guarantee en tlements.

- Any use in commercial situations is only covered under the guarantee to the extent that it would be comparable with the stresses of being used in a domes c situa on. It is not intended for any additional, commercial use.
- In the event of jus ed complaints, we will repair the faulty device at our discrete on or replace it with a trouble-free device.
Any pending faults must be reported within 14 days of delivery. All further claims are excluded.
