Foreword
Congratulations on the purchase of your new DETOMASO watch. You are now the new owner of a high precision time keeper characterised by its innovative design.
We keep a long term stock of the most important spare parts for all our watches, guaranteeing repair over a period of many years.
In order to ensure that your new watch functions properly for many years, please read the following instructions carefully.
Waterproof properties
The water resistance of your DETOMASO watch has been tested with 120 ATM for the automatic watch model and with 50 ATM for the solar model. This means that you may wash your hands, take a bath and a shower or swim and dive with it. Of course it also is spray waterproof.
This means that it is splashproof and that you may wash your hands or take a bath or a shower with it. You may also swim with it and even go diving. Waterproofness is not a permanent characteristic; it should be tested annually and in particular before the watch is put under exceptional strain, as the seals deteriorate gradually in daily use. The seals are the important factor in guaranteeing the waterproofness of a watch. These age naturally and are also affected by perspiration and acids.
ISO 2281 stipulates which standards have to be met by a new watch. The level of waterproofness is given in atm and noted on the base of the casing.
In some cases a short-term higher pressure than the guaranteed inspection pressure may be enforced on the seals, for example when swimming or diving into water. Watches are at particular risk when the wearer dives into water after sunbathing. The combination of the impact pressure with the negative pressure caused by the sudden drop in temperature can quite easily cause damage.
It is important to check and, if necessary, replace seals when the battery is replaced.

Instructions for care
Your watch is a high precision electronic and mechanical masterpiece and should serve you well for a long time.
Please keep your watch away from magnetic fields, heat, water and chemicals. Do not submit it to sudden impact or abrasion. Watches should not be worn in bed.
If a battery operated watch stops or the low battery indicator shows, it should be taken to a specialist as soon as possible to prevent the battery from causing damage in the watch or to the environment.
Batteries should be replaced by a specialist at regular intervals of approx. 1 - 112 years. The seals can then be checked and, if necessary, replaced at the same time.
In the event of condensation forming underneath the glass [misting], the watch should be taken to a specialist as soon as possible to prevent the moisture from causing further damage.
The crown should always be firmly pressed in or screwed tight during use.
Note on screwed down crowns
Some watch models have a screwed down crown to prevent dust and water from penetrating. In order to set the time, first unscrew the crown by turning it in an anti-clockwise direction. Now set the time as required and then press the crown gently back onto the thread and screw it down tightly in a clockwise direction.
Shortening of metal brackets
Please have the shortening of a bracelet done at a local watch dealer as unprofessional handling may void your guarantee.
Shortening of the metal band:

You require 2 screwdrivers with a 1,4 mm tip.
Please fasten one screw with the screwdriver and unscrew the opposite screw with the other screwdriver. When the screws are removed you may shorten the band and afterwards fasten it in the same manner.
DETOMASO SAN MARINO Solar
The SAN Marino solar watch is powered by solar energy and does not require a battery. Light waves are transformed into electrical energy and saved in a condenser. Once charged, the watch will run for about 6 months before having to be recharged. The following table lists charging times for various lighting conditions:
| Illumination in Lx | light source surrounding A hours (ca.) B hours (ca.) C minutes (ca.) | ||||
| 700 Artificial light office 19 | 73754 | ||||

| 10000 | sunlight | overcast 133 | 4 | ||
| 100000 | bright | 6 | 36 Minutes | 1 | |
Column A: required time for full charge, column B: required time for permanent use, column C: required time for 1 day use
Important: please note:
- The watch should be fully charged and set properly prior to first use.
- In order to stop the watch the crown should be pulled out. This will save energy. Tor restart the watch please push back the crown and reset the time.
- The watch should be worn outside a sleeve to be exposed to light.
- It is strongly recommended to expose the watch to light for 3-4 hours per day if it is not worn.
DETOMASO SAN MARINO Automatic
Your new DETOMASO SAN Marino Automatic watch is a mechanical watch that does not require a battery.
Its mechanical movement is exposed to the environment and to the wear and tear of the watch owner such as changing temperature and atmospheric pressure, rapid movement or vibration.
As opposed to regular quartz watches, for this watch a slight time deviation is considered normal since it is more sensitive.
An automatic movement is wound by movement through wearing. Inside the watch is an oscillation mass that will wind the tension spring. This oscillation mass is initiated by arm movement. Some arm movement will be sufficient to start your watch.
It will automatically rewind as long as it is worn. As soon as your watch is taken off the arm the automatic movement will stop. If the watch has been fully wound, it will take several hours before the watch will stop.
You do not need to wear your watch at night as it has a movement reserve. If worn again the next day, your watch will work just fine.
Should your watch stop working for some reason, please follow the instructions above for first use.
