Frequently Asked Questions - MF110 RGCS Gamko

What is the ideal temperature for storing food in the Gamko MF110 RGCS refrigerator?
The ideal temperature is between +2°C and +6°C. Use the thermostat to adjust according to the load and ambient temperature.
How to adjust the refrigerator thermostat?
Turn the thermostat knob located inside the cavity. Position 0 stops the appliance, numbers 1 to 5 increase cooling. Position 3 is recommended for normal use.
How to defrost the refrigerator?
Unplug the appliance and remove the food. Leave the door open to allow frost to melt. Never use a sharp object or steam cleaner. Dry the interior before plugging back in.
Why is the refrigerator making noise?
Sounds of gurgling or clicking are normal (gas circulation). A humming sound comes from the compressor. If the noise becomes abnormal, check that it is level and away from walls.
How long after transport should I wait before plugging in the appliance?
Let the appliance stand upright for 24 hours before plugging in, so the refrigerant gas stabilizes.
How to clean the interior of the refrigerator?
Unplug the appliance. Remove the shelves and drawers. Clean with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and mild soap. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Never use abrasive products.
What to do if the door does not close properly?
Check that food or shelves are not blocking the door. If the gasket is deformed, it can be replaced (spare part available). Clean the gasket regularly with soapy water.
How to reverse the door opening direction?
Unplug the appliance. Unscrew the hinges and transfer them to the opposite side. Consult the manual for the exact diagram. This operation requires two people and a screwdriver.
What to do in case of a power outage?
Avoid opening the door. Food stays cold for several hours. If the outage lasts more than 24 hours, check the food condition before consuming.
Where to find spare parts for the Gamko MF110 RGCS?
Contact Gamko after-sales service or authorized dealers. Common parts such as door gaskets, thermostats, and shelves are available. Always reference the model number.

Thank you for selecting a Gamko Froster.

Your Froster will provide many years of trouble free service, if the instructions below are followed.

INSTALLATION

  1. Do not place your Gamko Froster in direct sunlight, or near heat sources. The condenser requires cold air to circulate through the condenser (coiled tube in the machine unit). This air is sucked in and expelled through the square holes in the front of the Froster. Therefore these air holes at the front must be kept clear at all times.
  2. The Froster should be installed on a level surface. If the cabinet is not level, the door will not close properly.
  3. Click the shelf supports into the climbing strips and fit the shelves.
  4. After installation leave your Froster to stand for at least 2 hours prior to connection to the mains, to avoid damaging the compressor.
  5. Power supply must be 220V/240V ac. 50Hz. Plug into an earthed socket.
  6. Mains ON/OFF switch is located inside the cabinet on the back panel. In case of a light switch, the switch is located to the right/left of the thermostat.

TEMPERATURE

Your Gamko Froster is set to operate at temperatures between -10^ and -21^ . To adjust the temperature the plastic panel in front of the thermostat should be removed. For further instructions please refer to the instruction manual of the thermostat.

DEFROSTING

The cabinet has automatic defrost. Due to warm moist air entering the Froster each time the door is opened, the build up of ice on the evaporator (inside back panel) is inevitable. This ice is automatically removed during the defrost cycles. The defrost water will automatically evaporate in the driptray of the machine unit.

MAINTENANCE

Your Gamko Froster should be cleaned using a mild domestic detergent and warm water, never use abrasives or harsh chemicals. Consult the instructions for cleaning and maintenance of stainless steel.

In order to guarantee optimal performance the condenser (radiator in machine unit) should be cleaned weekly. Before cleaning the cabinet should be turned off and the unit be allowed to cool down sufficiently. To reach the condenser the small panel on the side of the cabinet should be opened, by undoing the 4 screws that hold the panel in place. The condenser can be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner or brush, replace the panel after cleaning.

FAULT FINDING

If there are any problems always check first whether the Froster is properly plugged in and whether the socket is charged (e.g. by plugging in a different electrical appliance)

The temperature is too high but the setting of the thermostat is correct.

Possible causes

  2. Distribute products evenly in cabinet and take care that air circulation is not obstructed
  3. Clean magnetic strips and/or replace if necessary
  4. Defrost evaporator using manual defrost cycle, or remove plug from socket to allow evaporator to defrost
