THINGS WORTH KNOWING ABOUT YOUR SOLIS DELI GRILL

A 2 Grill plates, one with a flat surface and one with a grooved surface

The flat surface is ideally suited to grilling fish, seafood, vegetables etc.
The grooved surface is ideal for grilling meat.
The floor of each grilling plate is slightly angled and equipped with a grease outlet, so that the grease can be led through the grease outlet into the grease collection tray during grilling. This allows you to grill your foods healthily and low in fat.
The temperature of each grilling plate can be adjusted independently and stepplessly thanks to the temperature controllers.
The grill plates are made of massive, pressure cast aluminium, guaranteeing optimal heat transmission and retention.
The grill plates are equipped with a special non-stick coating.
The heating elements are integrated into the grill plates and optimally sealed.
- The grill plates can be swapped against each other (left/right).
The grill plates can be removed to be cleaned under running water and even in the dishwasher.
- Optionally, more flat and grooved grill plates can be ordered as accessories.

D 2 Temperature controllers with ready indicators, separately controllable

Each temperature controller controls the temperature of the grill plate above and can be adjusted stepplessly.
Each temperature controller is equipped with its own ready indicator: as long as the surround of the temperature controller is lit up plate. As soon as the surround light the set temperature (Traffic signal p

- The grease gutter can be removed from the appliance for easy cleaning; dishwasher safe.

G Grease collection tray

  • The grease collection tray collects the grease and the oil of the grillables, either it comes through the grease gutter or directly through the grease outlet in the grill plates.

THIS IS HOW TO MOUNT THE SPLASH GUARD

SANYO Deli - THIS IS HOW TO MOUNT THE SPLASH GUARD - 1

BEFORE FIRST USE

  • After all removable parts have been cleaned and the appliance has been properly assembled, it has to be heated before being used for the first time. This will burn off all production residues on the grill plates. Some smoke might develop, this is completely normal and stops after a short while.
  • Take the grill plates from the appliance base. Clean the grill plates, the grease collection tray, the grease gutter as well as the plastic spatulas in hot dish water with a soft towel or sponge. Rinse all parts with clear water and dry them.
  • Wipe the stainless steel surfaces of the chassis and the splash guard clean with a moist, soft towel.
  • Place the appliance on an even, stable, dry, heat and moisture resistant work top.
  • Install the grease gutter and the grease collection tray back in the appliance base.
  • Mount the dry grill plates to the appliance and plug the power plug into a suitable power outlet.
  • Switch the appliance on with the main switch and set both temperature controllers to the highest position (all the way to the right).
  • Let the appliance heat up for 10 minutes, then set the temperature controller back to the position "0" (all the way to the left) and push the main switch back to "0" to switch the appliance off. Pull the plug and let the appliance cool down.
  • Wipe the cool grill plates again with a moist towel.
  • Your appliance is now ready for use.

STARTING UP

  1. Place the clean appliance on a dry, stable and heat as well as moisture resistant table resp. worktop. Fully unwind the power cord.
  2. Place the grease gutter and the grease collection tray in the appliance base.
  3. Mount both grill plates to the appliance base so that they properly lock into place. Rub the grill plates (only one, if you do not need both) with a kitchen paper soaked in cooking oil.
  4. Always mount both grill plates and never use the appliance with only one grill plate mounted.
Note: If you insert the grill plates so that the grease outlets are directly above the grease collection tray, the grease of the grillables is directly led into the grease collection tray without passing the grease gutter.
  5. If desired, place the splash guard on the edges of the grill plates. During grilling, grease splashes might occur. Please make sure that the surface on which the appliance is placed as well as the surroundings and nearby items are impervious against grease splashes.
  6. Plug the power plug into a suitable power outlet.
  7. Switch the main switch on the appliance backside to "1". The two ready indicators surrounding the temperature controllers light up in green if the temperature controllers are still set to "0" and the grill plates are not yet heated.
  8. If you need both grill plates for grilling, please set both temperature controllers to the desired power. If you only require one grill plate, only use the temperature controller under the particular grill plate. The ready indicators surrounding the set temperature controllers light up in red to indicate that the grill plates are being heated up. Let the appliance heat up for approx. 15 minutes.
Note: The thermostat automatically switches on resp. off to hold the set temperature.
  9. When the ready indicator lights up in green, you can place your grillables on the respective grill plate. The grooved grill plate is especially well suited for meat, the flat grill place is for fish, seafood or vegetables.
  10. Please use only utensils made from wood or heat resistant plastic to remove the grillables from the grill plates. Never use kitchen tools made from metal, these could damage the non-stick coating. For the same reason, do not, under any circumstances, cut directly on the grill plate and do not use any metal grilling utensils. Avoid prolonged contact of the plastic tools and the hot grill plates.

TIPS FOR PERFECT GRILLING

  • Marinate or spice the meat before grilling but salt it only after you have taken it from the grill plate, otherwise the meat will lose too much of its juice.
  • Bratwursts should be broached before grilling to prevent them from cracking.
  • Ideally, take the grillables out of the freezer 30 minutes before grilling them. They will grill faster and you prevent thicker pieces of meat from staying cold inside.

SWITCHING THE APPLIANCE OFF

  1. Turn the temperature controllers to "0" and switch the main switch to "0". The ready indicators surrounding the temperature controllers go out.
  2. Pull the plug and let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning it. We recommend carefully cleaning the grill plates, the accessories and the appliance base after every use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Check if the power plug has been pulled and if the grill plates, the splash guard and the appliance base have cooled down completely.
  • Remove the splash guard and push the release buttons to the left and right of the appliance to remove the cooled down grill plates. Remove the grease collection tray and the grease gutter from the appliance base.
  • If the grill plates are heavily dirty, you can soak them in lukewarm water for some time or remove the dirt with a bit of oil and a kitchen paper. Under no circumstances use abrasive cleaners or solvents or steel scourers.
  • Clean the grill plates, the splash guard, the grease collection tray and the grease gutter as well as the plastic spatulas in hot water, with a mild detergent and a soft sponge or towel. After that, rinse and dry everything carefully. The parts are dishwasher safe.
  • Clean the stainless steel appliance base with a slightly wet towel, also the power cord, in case it got dirty. Avoid bringing the power plug into contact with liquid. Never submerge the appliance base, the power cord and the power plug in water or other liquids and do not spray water or other liquids onto the appliance parts. Risk of electric shock!
  • Do not use aggressive cleaners or solvents as well as abrasive materials for any of the appliance parts. They might damage the surface.
  • Afterwards, reassemble the appliance.

STORAGE

  • When you do not need the Deli Grill, it has to be disconnected from the power outlet and cleaned and dried.
The power cord should be wrapped around the cord wrap in the bottom of the completely cooled down appliance.
  • Best store the completely cooled, cleaned and dry appliance fully assembled in the original packaging, including the accessories. Do not place any objects on the appliance.
