Frequently Asked Questions - BC07 ALECTO

How to use the Alecto BC07 thermometer?
Press the On/Off button to turn on. Wait until the display shows "Lo" and °C. Place the probe under the tongue, under the arm, or in the rectum depending on the method. Wait for the beeps: 4 beeps for normal temperature, 8 double beeps for fever (≥37.5°C). The measurement takes 6 to 20 seconds depending on the method.
What do the "Lo" and "Hi" displays on the screen mean?
"Lo" is displayed if the measured temperature is below 32.0°C. "Hi" is displayed if the temperature is ≥43.0°C. Check the thermometer placement and try again.
How to change the thermometer battery?
When the battery symbol appears, remove the battery compartment cover. Remove the protector. Use a non-metallic pointed object to remove the old battery. Insert a new LR41 or SR41 battery with the + side facing up. Replace the protector and cover.
What is the accuracy of the thermometer?
The accuracy is ±0.1°C between 35°C and 39°C, and ±0.2°C outside this range.
How to clean the thermometer?
Clean the probe with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol before and after each use. You can briefly hold the thermometer under water or in alcohol, but do not sterilize or immerse it.
What is the battery life?
The battery lasts approximately 2 years under normal use. The thermometer automatically turns off after about 10 minutes to save battery.
Is the thermometer waterproof?
The thermometer can be briefly held under water or in alcohol for cleaning, but it is not designed to be immersed. Avoid submerging it.
What is the difference between oral, rectal, and underarm measurements?
Rectal temperature is approximately 0.5°C higher than oral temperature. Underarm temperature is approximately 0.5°C lower than oral temperature. Normal oral temperature ranges from 36.1°C to 37.2°C.
How to view the last measured temperature?
Press and hold the On/Off button for 2 seconds. The last measured temperature is briefly displayed on the screen.
What to do if the thermometer does not turn on?
Check the battery. If the battery symbol is flashing, replace it. Make sure the battery is inserted correctly with the right side up. If the problem persists, contact your dealer.

INTRODUCTION

This Alecto thermometer is a digital thermometer developed to take your temperature as simply and accurately as possible. In order to get the most reliable results, these instructions must be followed accurately. For the most accurate temperature reading, we recommend using the thermometer rectally. Although the generally accepted 'normal' temperature is 37.0°C , body temperature can vary from 36.1°C to 37.2°C .

Fluctuations in temperature can be due to activities such as sports, smoking, eating and drinking, and also depend on the part of the body where the temperature is taken. When measured orally, the body temperature is generally 0.5°C lower than when measured rectally, while a temperature measured under the armpit is 1.0°C lower. Your temperature is lower in the morning than in the evening.
