How to turn on the BC09 thermometer?

Press the SCAN button until all segments light up, then release. The screen displays the last measured temperature.

How to turn off the thermometer?

The thermometer turns off automatically after one minute of inactivity. There is no manual shut-off button.

How to take a temperature reading?

Turn on the device, place the tip in the ear (without forcing), press and hold SCAN. A beep indicates the end of the measurement. Release the button and read the temperature.

What does the low battery icon mean?

The low battery icon (battery symbol) indicates that the battery is almost empty. Replace it with a new CR2032 battery.

How to clean the thermometer sensor?

Clean the sensor after each use with a cotton swab soaked in 96% alcohol. Never use water.

What to do if the screen shows 'Err'?

'Err' means the ambient temperature is not between 16°C and 35°C. Place the thermometer in a suitable environment before measuring.

Why is the displayed temperature too low?

Possible causes: tip incorrectly positioned in the ear, dirty sensor, or blocked ear canal. Repeat the measurement by placing the tip correctly.

Can the battery be replaced?

Yes, slide open the battery compartment cover, remove the old battery with a non-metallic object, then insert a new CR2032 battery with the + sign facing up.

What are the precautions for use?

Do not use in case of ear infection or ear irritation. Avoid taking temperature within 30 minutes after physical exertion or bathing.

How to recycle the thermometer at end of life?

Do not dispose of the device or batteries with household waste. Take them to a collection point for electronic waste or a recycling center.

Introductie:

This ear thermometer is designed to measure your body temperature safely, quickly and accurately.

Body temperature can be measured more quickly and accurately in the ear than other places in the body. This means that the temperature measured with this ear thermometer is more accurate than the temperature measured in the armpit, mouth or rectum.

First use:

A battery has already been installed in the earthermometer. Remove the insulating strip to activate the battery.

Power on / off

Power on:

Press button SCAN until all segments in the display are illuminated. Remove your finger from the button. The display will now show the last measured temperature.

Power off:

The thermometer will automatically switch itself off after one minute if no button is pressed again.

How to measure:

1. Switch the thermometer on as described.
2. Place the head of the thermometer in your ear (do not force and do not push too far in)
3. Press and hold button SCAN
4. You will hear a beep after a couple of seconds. You can now release the button and read the temperature on the display.

Display read-out:

= temperature is being measured
L₀ = temperature is below 34° C
= temperature is below 38° C
= temperature is above 38° C
H i = temperature is above 43° C
= last measured temperature
= battery low
Err = ambient temperature is not between 16°C

and 35° C :

Cleaning;

Temperature sensor:

Clean the temperature sensor with a cotton bud soaked in medicinal alcohol (96%, available from chemists) every time after use. NEVER clean the temperature sensor with water.

Thermometer:

You can clean the casing of the thermometer with a damp cloth. Do not use chemical cleaning agents.

Memory:

This ear thermometer remembers the last temperature measured. The thermometer will display this temperature when it is switched on.

Battery warning:

: battery low, purchase a new battery (the thermometer can still be used in the meantime).

• Lobottery too low to function correctly (the battery should be replaced)

Battery replacement

1. Remove the battery cover from the thermometer.
2. Use a pointed (non-metallic) object to remove the old battery and place the new battery with the + side up.
3. Place the battery cover back onto the thermometer.

Calibration:

The ear thermometer has been factory calibrated. Further calibration is unnecessary if the thermometer is used in accordance with the instructions. There is no means of readjusting the calibration on this thermometer.

Possible causes of the temperature measured being too low:

• The thermometer is not far enough or at an angle in the ear. Place the thermometer in the ear correctly and measure the temperature again.
• The temperature sensor is dirty. Clean it and measure the temperature again.
• The ear canal is blocked or dirty. Clean it or measure the temperature in the other ear. For further questions and/or problems, contact the Alecto customer service.
