SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - General information

• Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for reference.
• Use this appliance solely in accordance with these instructions.
  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Have any repairs carried out solely by a qualified electrician. Never try to repair the appliance yourself.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - Electricity and heat

• Verify that the mains voltage is the same as that indicated on the type plate on the appliance's adapter before using the adapter.
• Always remove the plug from the socket when you have finished charging the device and when you are no longer using the adapter.
• When you remove the plug from the socket, pull by holding the plug, not the flex.
• Check the adapter's cord regularly to make sure it is not damaged. Do not use the adapter if the lead or the adapter is damaged. A damaged cord must be replaced by a qualified electrician.
• Never leave the device charging for more than 3 days.
• Do not use the device near heat sources such as radiators, or in full sunlight.
• Make sure the adapter do not come into contact with water.
• Let the battery run down completely every 6 months by using the device until it runs down. Then switch it off and re-charge fully.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - Use

• Always use the adapter supplied with the appliance. Do not use the ladyshaver in combination with other types of adapters.
• Make sure the shaving head is properly attached before switching on the device.
  Take care during use. Always hold the device near the base, never near the head. Do not attempt to remove the shaver head while the device is switched on. Do not press the shaver head too hard against your skin. This could damage both your skin and the shaver head.
• Do not use the epilating head on irritated skin or skin with varicose veins, rashes, spots, moles (with hairs) or wounds without consulting your doctor first. People with a reduced immune response, e.g. during pregnancy, or people who suffer from diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency should also consult their doctor first.
• Using an epilator may cause reddening or irritation of the skin. This is a normal reaction that quickly disappears. However, you should consult your doctor if the irritation has not disappeared within three days.
• To prevent damage and injuries, keep the running appliance away from your hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, clothes, threads, cords, brushes, etc.
  After use, remove any hairs from the device and clean it using the supplied brush.
• Never immerse the adapter in water or other liquid.
• Never touch the adapter if it has fallen in water. Remove the plug from the socket. Do not use the adapter again.

THE ENVIRONMENT

• Dispos of packaging material, such as plastic and boxes, in the appropriate waste containers. When this product reaches the end of its useful life do not dispose of it by putting it in a dustbin; hand it in at a collection point for the reuse of electrical and electronic equipment. Please refer to the symbols on the product, the user's instructions or the packaging.

• The materials can be re-used as indicated. Your help in the re-use, recycling or other means of making use of old electrical equipment will make an important contribution to the protection of the environment.

• Contact your municipality for the address of the appropriate collection point in your neighbourhood.

OPERATION - First time use/charging

1. Make sure the on/off switch is in the 0 (off) position.
2. Insert the adapter plug into the socket at the bottom of the appliance.
3. Insert the adapter connector plug into the mains socket. The re-charging indicator light should come on.
4. Leave the device to charge for at least 8 hours.
5. Remove the adapter plug from the mains socket.
6. Remove the plug from the appliance. It is now ready for use.

OPERATION - Preparing for use

• Make sure your skin is clean, entirely dry and free from grease. Do not use any cream before you start epilating.
• Epilation is easier just after taking a bath or shower. Make sure your skin is completely dry when you start epilating.
• When you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you to try it out on an area with only light hair growth to get accustomed to the epilation process.
• As the hairs are removed by the root, epilation may cause some skin discomfort the first few times you use the epilator. This effect will gradually diminish when you use the appliance more often. Regrowth tends to be softer both in appearance and to the touch.

Tip: After epilation, you can apply a mild cream or lotion to help reduce possible skin irritation. It will make your skin feel smoother and will give you a fresh sensation. Do not use lotions that contain alcohol.

Use the shaving head first with long hairs. See 'Cleaning and maintenance' for removal of the epilating head.

OPERATION - Epilating

1. Connect the appliance to the mains plug by inserting the connector into the bottom of the appliance.
2. Insert the mains plug into the power socket.
3. Switch the appliance on by selecting the desired speed. Select speed '1' for areas with little hair growth, for hard-to reach areas and for areas where bones are located directly beneath the skin, such as knees and ankles. Select speed '2' for larger areas with stronger hair growth.

1. Stretch the skin with your free hand to make the hairs stand upright. Stretching the skin properly is particularly important if you have sensitive or delicate skin.
2. Place the epilator perpendicularly onto the skin with the on/off slide pointing in the direction in which you are going to move the appliance.
3. Move the appliance slowly over the skin, against the direction of hair growth.

Press down the middle stripe on the speed selector.

Do not apply pressure!

1. Switch the appliance off by pushing the on/off slide to position '0'.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

For good and smooth epilating, it is essential that you clean the epilating head after use.

• Never immerse the appliance in water.

• Do not use aggressive cleaners, scouring agents, petrol, acetone etc. to clean the plastic housing of the appliance.

• Never try to remove the epilating discs from the epilating head.

• Do not exert pressure on the shaving foil to avoid damaging it.

• Switch the appliance off.

• Remove the mains plug from the socket.
• Remove the epilating head by pushing the buttons on the side and then lifting it off the appliance (Figure 4).
• Clean the epilating discs of the epilation head and all other parts that have become accessible with the supplied brush.
• Attach the epilating head by placing it onto the appliance and push the epilating head until it snaps home.

GUARANTEE TERMS

The importer guarantees the appliance against defects caused by manufacturing and/or material faults for 60 months from the date of purchase, subject to the following conditions.
1. No charges will be made for labour costs or materials during the warranty period. Any repairs carried out during the warranty period do not extend the warranty period.
2. The importer automatically becomes the owner of any faulty parts that he replaces or a faulty appliance (in the event of replacement of the appliance).
3. All claims submitted under warranty must be accompanied by the original bill of sale.
4. Claims under warranty must be submitted to the dealer where the appliance was purchased or to the importer.
5. The warranty is issued solely to the first purchaser and cannot be transferred.
6. The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
a. Accidents, incorrect use, wear and/or neglect.
b. Faulty installation and/or use in a manner contravening the prevailing legal, technical or safety regulations.
c. Connection to a mains voltage other than the voltage specified on the type plate.
d. Unauthorized modifications.
e. Repairs carried out by third parties.
f. Careless transport, i.e. without suitable packaging materials or protection.
7. No claims may be made under this warranty for:
a. Losses incurred during transport.
b. The removal or changing of the appliance's serial number.
8. The guarantee does not cover power cords, lamps or glass parts.
9. No claims can be submitted under this warranty for damage other than the repair or replacement of faulty parts. The importer can never be held responsible for any consequential loss or damage or any other consequences, resulting either directly or indirectly from the appliance supplied by the importer.
10. In case of claims under guarantee you can contact your dealer where the appliance is purchased. Bestron offers you also the possibility to send the appliance directly to our Service Department. Do not send your appliance without consulting us. The package may be refused and any any costs will be for your account. Please contact the Service Department and they will tell you how to pack and send the appliance.
11. This appliance is not suitable for professional use.
