Frequently Asked Questions - A 296 Plus OLYMPIA

How to hot laminate with the Olympia A 296 Plus?
Plug in the device, turn on the switch (position I), select the pouch thickness (75, 125 or 175 mic) using the corresponding button. Wait about 5 minutes until the thickness LED stays on. Insert the document into the pouch with a 3-5 mm margin on each side, then insert the closed side into the entry slot. Lamination is done automatically.
How to cold laminate?
Plug in the device, turn it on (position I). The 'COLD' LED lights up. If you used hot mode before, let it cool for up to 30 minutes. Remove the protective film from the pouch, place the document inside (3-5 mm margin), then insert the closed side into the slot. Lamination is done automatically.
What to do in case of a jam?
Unplug the device. Press the 'ABS' release button on the back. Hold the machine firmly and gently pull the jammed pouch out of the slot. Then clean the rollers with folded paper. If the jam persists, contact the dealer.
How to clean the rollers of the laminator?
After use, insert a folded sheet of paper into the entry slot. The adhesive residues stick to the paper. Repeat the operation several times. For the housing, use a damp cloth with mild soap, never solvents.
What pouch thickness can I use?
The Olympia A 296 Plus accepts pouches from 75 to 175 microns. Select the corresponding thickness on the dedicated button: 75 mic, 125 mic or 175 mic. Always insert the closed side first.
How long does the device take to heat up?
The warm-up time is about 5 minutes. As soon as the pouch thickness LED stays on continuously, the operating temperature is reached. Cooling after hot use takes about 30 minutes.
Can damp documents be laminated?
No, damp documents give poor results. Make sure the document is completely dry before laminating.
What to do if the LED does not light up or the device does not respond?
Check that the power cord is properly plugged in and the On/Off switch is on I. If the problem persists, contact the dealer.
Can I use cold lamination pouches in hot mode?
No, only use pouches suitable for the chosen mode. Cold pouches are not heat-resistant and may damage the device and the document.
How to avoid bubbles or ripples during lamination?
Use a quality heating system that prevents bubble formation. Make sure the pouch is inserted straight and the closed side first. Let the document cool under a heavy object to flatten it.
