Frequently Asked Questions - ZKC92661XA ZANKER

How to use the hood in recirculation mode?
To use the hood in recirculation mode, you must install an activated charcoal filter (type 20 washable or type 15 non-washable) and set the appliance to internal recirculation. The air is filtered then returned to the kitchen. Consult the manual for installing the charcoal filter.
How often should the grease filter be cleaned?
The grease filter must be cleaned at least once a month. It can be washed by hand with a mild detergent or in the dishwasher at low temperature on a short cycle. Dishwashing may discolor the filter, but its performance remains unchanged.
How to clean the washable charcoal filter (type 20)?
The type 20 LONG LIFE charcoal filter is cleaned every two months. Wash it with hot water and a suitable detergent or in the dishwasher at 65 °C (without dishes). Remove excess water, then put the inner pad in the oven at 100 °C for 10 minutes to dry completely.
When should the non-washable charcoal filter (type 15) be replaced?
The type 15 charcoal filter cannot be cleaned and must be replaced every 4 months at most, or sooner if usage is heavy. It is essential to replace it to ensure good odor filtration.
What to do if the hood does not turn on?
First check that the hood is properly plugged in and that the main switch is not off. Make sure the bulbs are correctly installed. If the problem persists, unplug the appliance and contact a professional. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
How to replace the hood bulbs?
Before any intervention, unplug the hood and ensure the bulbs are cold. Only use halogen bulbs 12 V – 20 W max – G4. Do not touch the bulbs with bare hands; use a cloth or gloves.
What is the minimum distance between the hood and the hob?
For an electric hob, the minimum distance is 50 cm. For a gas or mixed hob, it is 65 cm. If the hob manual specifies a greater distance, follow that indication.
Can I use the hood without the filters?
No, never use the hood without the grid and filters properly mounted. Operating without filters can damage the motor and presents a fire risk. Filters also protect the inside of the hood.
Why is my hood making noise?
Abnormal noise may come from a poorly installed filter, a dirty filter, or an object stuck in the turbine. Check filter installation and clean them if necessary. If the noise persists, contact after-sales service.
How to install the hood in extraction version?
For external venting, connect the hood to a smoke extraction duct (do not use a duct already used for another combustion appliance). Respect safety distances and local standards. The duct diameter must be suitable for the hood.
