Guarantee
We will remedy any faults due to material flaws or manufacturing faults free of charge within the guarantee period of two years.

Intended use
This appliance is intended primarily for non-commercial use in closed rooms for the melting of chocolate in normal household quantities. Any use other than previously stated is considered as improper use.

Safety instructions
Inspect the appliance for visible signs of damage before use. Do not use a damaged device.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with insufficient experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions on the use of the appliance from such a person.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appli- ance.
Store the appliance and accessory ■ parts out of the reach of children.
Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.
Only allow repairs to the appliance ■ to be carried out by an authorised specialist or by the works customer service; this particularly applies to replacing a damaged connecting cable. Unqualified repairs can lead to considerable danger for the user. They will also invalidate the guarantee.
Repairs to the appliance during the ■ guarantee period may only be carried out by service centres authorised by the manufacturer as the guarantee will otherwise be invalidated in the event of damage or subsequent damage.
Defective parts may only be replaced with original spare parts. Only original spare parts guarantee that the safety requirements are met.
Do not use this appliance together with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
DANGER

Do not use the appliance if the mains cable or mains plug is damaged.
Do not open the housing of the appliance. Danger from electric current if live connections are touched and/or the electrical and mechanical configuration is changed.

WARNING
Danger of burns!
This electrical appliance has a heating function. Surfaces, even apart from the functional surfaces, can develop high temperatures. Since temperatures are experienced differently by different people, this appliance must be used CAREFULLY. Hold the appliance only at the handles provided, and use gloves or pot holders to protect against heat. Surfaces not intended as handles must be allowed sufficient time to cool down.
Do not touch the melting pot during use.
Use the handle to hold the appliance while it is in operation.
Before cleaning, allow the appliance to cool down.
Do not move the appliance during operation.
CAUTION
Always switch off the appliance be- before removing the melting pot.
Never operate the appliance without the melting pot.
Do not pull the connecting cable ▶ to remove the plug from the mains socket.
Never operate the appliance when the melting pot is empty.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or metal brushes, nylon brushes or other sharp objects to clean the surfaces.
Use only the forks or skewers included in the scope of supply.
Never lift or move the appliance with the mains cable.
Requirements for the place of use
For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the place of operation must satisfy the following requirements:
Place the appliance on a firm, dry, flat, waterproof and heat-resistant surface.
Do not install the appliance in a hot, wet or very humid environment.
■The mains socket must be easily accessible and allow fast disconnection in the event of an emergency.
■The surface finishes on furniture may contain substances that can be detrimental to the feet of the appliance. If necessary, place a mat under the feet of the appliance.
Electrical connection
For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the following instructions must be observed for the electrical connection:
Before connecting the appliance, ■ compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains power supply. The data must correspond in order to avoid damage to the appliance. If in doubt, ask your electrical appliance retailer.
The mains socket must be protected by at least a 10 A automatic circuit breaker.
Ensure that the mains lead is undamaged and is not laid over sharp edges.
The mains cable must not be pulled ■ tightly, bent or come into contact with hot surfaces.
Route the cable to prevent risk of tripping.
The electrical safety of the appliance is only assured when it is connected to a properly installed protective earth (PE) conductor system. Connection to a mains socket without PE conductor is forbidden. If in doubt, the electrical system must be checked by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer assumes no liability for injury or damage caused by a missing or interrupted protective earth conductor.
Startup
Unpacking
Remove the appliance, all accessory parts and the user manual from the box.
Remove all packaging materials and protective foils from the product and the accessories before using it for the first time.
NOTE
Do not remove the rating plate or any warning signs on the appliance. If possible, keep the original packaging during the guarantee period in order to be able to pack the appliance properly in the event of a guarantee claim. Transport damage will invalidate the guarantee.
Check the delivery contents
Check for visible signs of damage or missing items.
Report incomplete or damaged contents to your supplier immediately.
Prior to first use
Clean the appliance and the accessories, as described in the section Cleaning and care (page 20).
Rub down the BIO-LON ceramic coating lightly with edible fat or oil.

Non-stick coating
BIO-LON® KERAMIK
The BIO-LON non-stick coating not only distinguishes itself by health and environmental awareness but also has other special features:

■ fast heating up and long heat storage, simple cleaning. ■
BIO-LON gives the melting pot outstanding characteristics:
■lotus beading effect
■low fat requirement,
■ no sticking or burning
■temperature resistant up to approx. 400 °C
■hardness that withstands even the strongest loads.
Using the appliance
Insert the plug into a mains socket.
Break the chocolate into small pieces and place them in the melting pot (1).
Turn the rotary knob (4) to the desired level: Level 1 for keeping warm or Level 2 for melting. The red indicator light (3) comes on.
Stir the chocolate regularly during the melting process using the spatula. Leave the appliance switched on until the chocolate mass has a smooth consistency.
NOTE
Use the spatula (6) or a plastic ▶ spoon for stirring or removing the chocolate; on no account should metal tools be used in order not to damage the BIO-LON ceramic coating.
Instructions for use
The appliance is particularly suitable for melting cooking chocolate or whole milk chocolate:
For chocolate fondue with fresh fruit – (e.g. strawberries, banana, grapes, etc.),
For fast melting of cake toppings, – For preparing hot chocolate. –
Chocolate fondue
Ingredients:

- 100 g whole milk, dark or cooking chocolate
- 50 ml cream

•1 TS milk
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
Pineapple, banana, mango, papaya or strawberries are particularly suitable as fruit for fondue.
Wash the fruit carefully, then cut it into bite-sized pieces.
Break the chocolate into pieces and place them in the melting pot. Turn the rotary knob to level II.
Add the vanilla sugar and the cream to the melting pot.
Mix all the ingredients with the spatula until the chocolate mass has a smooth, creamy consistency..
Push the pieces of fruit onto the skewers or forks and dip them into the hot chocolate.
Hot chocolate milk
Ingredients:
- 100 g chocolate pieces
- 100 ml of milk
- 50 ml cream
- 25 g icing sugar
Place the chocolate pieces into the melting pot.
Turn the rotary knob to level I.
Add 50 ml of milk and stir regularly.
When the chocolate has melted, add the remaining milk, the cream and the icing sugar.
Turn the rotary knob to level II. After approx. 2 to 3 minutes, the chocolate milk is ready.
Chocolate strawberry fondue
Melt 100 g of low-fat yoghurt strawberry cream-filled whole milk chocolate.
Serve with fresh strawberries.
After using
◆ Turn the rotary knob to position 0. The indicator light (3) goes out.
Pull the plug out of the mains socket.
Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
Clean the appliance and the accessories used as described in the Cleaning and care section (page 20).
Cleaning and care
Before beginning work, pay attention to the safety instructions in the Safety section (page 15)!
Cleaning the appliance
Remove the melting pot from the appliance.
Wipe the outside housing of the appli-◆ance with a lightly damp cloth.
The skewers and forks can be ♦ cleaned in a warm detergent solution.
The melting pot can be cleaned in the dish washer, but the BIO-LON ceramic natural product reacts very sensitively to strongly acid detergents. It loses its non-stick effect, the more often it is cleaned in the dish washer.
Dry all parts of the appliance thoroughly after cleaning.
Place the melting pot in the appliance again.
NOTE
Dried residues in the melting pot can be removed more easily if they are allowed to soak first in luke-warm water.
Storage
If you do not intend to use the appliance for a longer period of time, clean it as described in the section Cleaning and care (page 20).
Store the appliance and all accessory parts at a dry, clean and frost-free location, which is protected against direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
The following table will help you locate and eliminate minor faults:
