What to do before first use of the kettle?

Fill the kettle with cold water, bring it to a boil, empty it, let it cool and rinse. Repeat 2 to 3 times with fresh water.

How to fill the kettle correctly?

Remove the kettle from its base, open the lid and fill with cold water between the Min and Max markings. Close the lid before placing it on the base.

Why does the indicator light not come on?

Check that the kettle is properly placed on the base and the power cord is plugged in. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

Does the kettle turn off automatically?

Yes, it turns off automatically as soon as the water boils. You can also turn it off manually by setting the switch to off.

☐ Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
☐ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. Keep out of reach of children or incompetent persons.
From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician ^() . Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified electrician ^() .

☐ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never put it in the dishwasher.

☐ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
□ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.
☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
☐ If your type of appliance has a separate base or a detachable cord, remove them from the water cooker when filling it. If your appliance has a fixed cord, unplug it before filling it.
□ Always fill between the minimum and maximum marks. The water must never be below the minimum mark or the heating element might be damaged. Do not overfill the jug kettle as boiling water might overflow.

BEFORE THE FIRST OPERATION

For the perfect taste, operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the process 3 times with fresh water, before rinsing.

OPERATION

• Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it.
- Raise the lid by pushing its release button and fill the tank with fresh water paying attention not to fill under the "MIN" mark and above the "MAX" mark in the kettle. You can see the level thanks to the transparent water level indicator.
- Close the lid by pressing it down until it you hear a click. Make sure it closes correctly.
- Put the jug onto the power base, plug into the wall socket and switch on. The pilot light will come on. If it does not come on, check if the jug kettle is placed correctly on its base. If the problem persists, contact the nearest customer service.
- The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling. However, you can switch it off anytime by pressing the on/off switch.
- For instant reboiling, wait until water has cooled down and switch on the appliance again.

SAFETY CUT-OUT

• This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device if accidentally switched on without water.
• In this case, switch off the appliance and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then fill the jug kettle with cold water. This will reset the safety device.
  • The kettle may then be used as normal.
• Should the problem persist, please contact the nearest customer service.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
• To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly. To remove scale from the inner walls of the kettle and from the filter you can use a soft brush.
• Never use abrasive products
• On no account must the jug kettle or its power base be immersed in water.

DESCALING

To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose. Make sure to use a type recommended for plastic kettles.
