WARNING
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
The connector must be removed before the appliance is cleaned.
The appliance inlet must be dried before the appliance is used again.
Only the appropriate connector must be used.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
Regarding the instructioesaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the section "Cleaning and Maintenance" on page 5 of the manual.
The outer surface may get hot when the appliance is operating.
The surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
Do not touch hot surface. Use the handle
while moving the product.
Do not place the appliance in or near hot gas or electric burner, or permit to touch a heated oven or mini oven.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read this instruction manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.
- Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces.
- Do not let the mains cord hang over the edge of the table or worktop on which the appliance stands.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is in operation.
- Always plug the thermostat unit into the appliance first, and then plug cord into mains socket.
- Only use the thermostat unit supplied.
- Place the appliance on a firm, level, dry and non-flammable surface.
- Keep the appliance at least 15cm away from other objects to ensure sufficient ventilation.
- Always set the thermostat knob to the minimum position before pulling the plug out of the mains socket.
- Make sure that the drip tray is always in place during grilling.
- Do not move the appliance when it is in operation and do not touch the grilling plate.
- Use oven gloves when cooking food at a high temperature. SPLashed fat may otherwise cause burns.
- Always unplug the appliance after use and remove the mains plug from the mains socket before you remove the thermostat unit from the appliance.
- Allow fat in the drip tray to cool before removing it.
- Never use the appliance near curtains and other flammable materials.
- Always let the appliance cool down before cleaning it.
- This appliance is only intended for indoor use. Do not use it outdoors.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any packaging material and wipe the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Clean the appliance and the plate thoroughly (See the section 'Cleaning and Maintenance').
OPERATION
Note: The appliance may produce some smoke when using it for the first time. This is normal.
- Slide the drip tray into the appliance.
- Insert the thermostat unit into the connecting socket on the side of the appliance.

Make sure the thermostat knob is set at the minimum position.

Plug the thermostat unit into the mains socket.

Turn the thermostat knob to the desired temperature.

The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the grilling plate is heating up.

- When the selected temperature has been reached, the indicator light will go out.
- Put the food to be cooked onto the grilling plate.
Warning! Danger of burns: the grilling plate gets very hot, do not touch!

During the grilling process, the indicator light will light up and go out indicating that the desired temperature is being maintained.

Turn the food from time to time with wooden or plastic spatulas (not supplied).

Do not use metal, sharp or abrasive kitchen utensils.

Grill the food according to your own taste.

Grilling time depends on the kinds of food and its thickness.

When the food is cooked, remove it from the grilling plate.

Set the thermostat knob to the minimum position when you have finished grilling.
Unplug the thermostat unit from the mains socket.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Warning!
Unplug the thermostat unit from the mains socket and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Do not immerse the grilling plate and thermostat unit in water.
Remove the thermostat unit out of connecting socket. Clean it with a slightly damp cloth.
Carefully remove the drip tray and dispose of the collected oil.
NOTE: Do not pour the oil down the drain, as it may solidify and cause blockages.
Clean the drip tray in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
Clean the outer surface of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth.
Remove excess oil from the grilling plate with a piece of kitchen paper and then clean it using a damp cloth or sponge with a little mild detergent.
Caution! Never use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents, as they could damage the appliance and the nonstick coating the grilling plate.
Surfaces in contact with food should be cleaned regularly to avoid cross contamination from different types of food, the use of warm clean water with a mild detergent is advisable when dealing with surfaces that come into contact with food.
Correct food hygiene practises should always be followed at all t to avoid possibility of food poisoning /cross contamination.
The thermostat unit must be completely dry before you reinsert it into the connecting socket of the appliance.
