USER MANUAL EXC CEH 2 KALORIK

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance. Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the rating plate of the appliance.
Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage but have it checked and repaired by a competent qualified service*. Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified service*
Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
Never immerse the appliance or the remote control in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. When cleaning the appliance, refer to the instructions in the paragraph "Cleaning and care" because water penetration in the appliance can be very dangerous.
Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
Before cleaning and when you do not use the appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply. Do not attempt to remove the plug from the wall socket with wet hands.
Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
Stand the appliance on a stable surface so that it cannot fall.
Do not place the appliance under a power socket. The power socket must not be in the hot airflow of the appliance in order to avoid overheating.
Always position the heater in such a way that inflammable materials (such as curtains) cannot be ignited. Ensure at all times that the unit is placed solidly on its base.
Make sure that the air inlet and outlet openings are not blocked. Bo avoid any risk of fire, do not cover the heater (e.g. with clothes).
The heater should only be operated at a minimum distance of 50cm from any wall or other object and of 1 meter from combustibles.
Warning: Do not operate the heater near baths, showers, washbasins, swimming pools or any other water container. It must be impossible to reach the commands of your appliance when you are in contact with water.
The temperature of the grids may be very high when the appliance is in use. Avoid contact with the skin.
Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot part of the appliance.
Never use the appliance near inflammable or explosive materials.
Do not insert any objects through the grille or into the interior of the appliance.
Do not use double adapters or other appliances to connect with the heater.

POSITIONING OF THE APPLIANCE

The heater should only be operated at a minimum distance of 50cm from any wall or other object. Position the air flow in order to optimise the heating of the room. Avoid corners, small volumes, floors and ceilings.

BATTERIES

In order to be able to use the remote control, you first have to insert the batteries in it. do so:

  • Open the battery compartment.
  • Insert the batteries, making sure you respect the + and - polarity.
  • Close the compartment. Use 2 AAA-type batteries of 1.5V . Never mix up new and old batteries or batteries of different types.

  • When you decide to throw away the appliance, make sure to remove the battery and to dispose of it in an ecological manner by handing it in a place intended for this end.

NOBE: the remote control can be stored in the foreseen space located on the back of the appliance.

Caution: if you don't use your remote control for a long time, it is recommended to remove the batteries because they could run.

USE

When the appliance is switched on for the first time, a slight smell may be emitted. Please ensure sufficient ventilation. This smell will disappear very quickly.

The heater may be operated by the manual controls located on the heater or by your remote control.

  1. Place the heater on a firm level surface.
  2. Set the main power switch to 'OFF'. Plug in the appliance. Burn the main power switch to 'ON' ('I') position. A beep will sound and the red light will come on indicating that there is power to the unit. The heater is ready for use. The red light will remain lighted until the unit is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
  3. Burn the heater ON by pressing the button of the remote control or control panel. The unit will display the current room temperature.
  4. Upon turning the heater on, the unit will be in the FAN heat mode.
  5. Pressing the 'HEAβ MODE' button at this point will set the heater into LOW HEAβ mode.
  6. Pressing the 'HEAβ MODE' button a second time will set the heater into HIGH HEAβ mode. Pressing a third time sets the heater in AUβO mode. Notice that the display now displays a 'SEβ BEMP' indicator (see "Bhermostat Instructions"). Bo turn the heater OFF, press the button.

Swing function

This function will work in any mode. Pressing the swing button will allow the heater to oscillate left and right. Stop the oscillation, press the swing button once more.

Timer function

This function will work in any mode. The timer function allows you to set the length of operation from 1 hour to 8 hours. Pressing the timer button increases the length of operation by 1 hour each time the button is pressed. Once the timer has been set, the timer will count down the hours in 1 hour increments, showing on the display the remaining operating time until the heater will turn off. Pressing the timer button once more after the display reflects 8 hours will reset the heater to continuously running.

Thermostat instructions

  1. Press the HEAβ MODE button until the display shows AUβO.
  2. o adjust "SEβEMP", press the + / up button to increase the desired temperature and the -/down button to decrease the desired temperature.
  3. When the air temperature reaches 3 degrees above the SEβ BEMP, the heater will cut off.
  4. When the air temperature drops 1 degree below the SEβ βEMP, the unit will come back on.

Note: It is normal for the heater to cycle ON and OFF as it maintains the SEβ BEMP.

SAFETY DEVICES

  • Your appliance is fitted with a safety device (tip-over switch situated on the bottom of the appliance) that disconnects your appliance when it is tilted or tipped. If your appliance falls, switch it off, replace it correctly and switch it on again.
  • This heater is also protected with an overhealing protection that switches off the appliance automatically in case of overheating, e.g. due to the total or partial obstruction of the grids. In this case, unplug the appliance, wait about 15-20 minutes for it to cool and remove the object that is obstructing the grids. Then switch it back on as described above. The appliance should operate normally. Should the problem persist, please contact the nearest customer service.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
- The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth; do not use any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool.
- he grids are particularly delicate; to clean them you can carefully use a vacuum cleaner.
- When you do not use the appliance, place it in a dry environment.
