How to use the Clatronic WK 2533 kettle for the first time?

Before first use, boil fresh water twice without detergent to clean the interior. Place the kettle on a flat surface, open the lid, fill with water between the MIN and MAX marks, close the lid, place it on the base, plug into a 230 V outlet and press the switch. It shuts off automatically.

What is the capacity of the kettle?

The maximum capacity is approximately 1.7 liters. Do not fill above the MAX mark to avoid overflow when boiling.

How to clean the kettle filter?

The removable nylon filter can be cleaned under running water to remove limescale residues. Ensure the appliance is unplugged and cooled before removing the filter.

How often should the kettle be descaled?

It is recommended to descale the kettle every 3 to 4 months or more often if the water is hard. Use a descaling product based on citric acid, never vinegar.

Why does the kettle turn off before the water boils?

This usually happens when limescale builds up on the heating element. Descaling is necessary. If the problem persists after descaling, contact customer service.

Can I open the lid while the water is heating?

It is not recommended to open the lid during operation or when pouring to avoid steam burns. Wait until the appliance stops and unplug before opening.

Can the kettle be used without the base?

No, the kettle must always be used on its base for electrical connection. Do not pour water directly onto the base.

What to do if the kettle does not heat?

Check that the outlet works, that the appliance is properly seated on the base and that the switch is pressed. If the indicator light does not come on, contact a specialist.

What is the warranty of the Clatronic WK 2533 kettle?

The warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase against any material or manufacturing defects. Keep the receipt as proof.

Can I use the kettle to heat liquids other than water?

No, the kettle is designed only for heating water. Using other liquids may damage the appliance and void the warranty.

• Before commissioning this device please read the instruction manual carefully.
• Please keep these instructions, the guaranty certificate, the sales receipt and, if possible, the carton with the inner packaging!
• The device is intended exclusively for private and not for commercial use!
• Always remove the plug from the socket whenever the device is not in use, when attaching accessory parts, cleaning the device or whenever a disturbance occurs. Switch off the device beforehand. Pull on the plug, not on the cable.
• In order to protect children from the dangers of electrical appliances, never leave them unsupervised with the device. Consequently, when selecting the location for your device, do so in such a way that children do not have access to the device. Take care to ensure that the cable does not hang down.
• Test the device and the cable regularly for damage. If there is damage of any kind, the device should not be used.
• Do not repair the device yourself, but rather consult an authorised expert.
• For safety reasons a broken or damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an equivalent lead from the manufacturer, our customer service department or a similar qualified person.
• Keep the device and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, sharp edges and suchlike.
• Never use the device unsupervised! Switch off the device whenever you are not using it, even if this is only for a moment.

First Use of the Machine

Before using the machine for the first time water should be boiled in it twice without any additives.

1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Open the water boiler with the button on the lid. Fill it with water. Do not overfill!

3. Place the kettle flush on the base.

4. Electrical connection

5. Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is the same as that of the machine. Details are to be found on the label on the base.

6. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V, 50 Hz safety socket.

7. Switch on the appliance with the switch under the handle. The LED will light up.

8. After boiling the machine switches off automatically. Disconnect the machine from the mains electricity supply. When pouring, do not press the lid too much. Danger of burns!

Cleaning

• Always remove the plug from the mains supply before cleaning the machine!
• The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly damp cloth without additives.
• All limestone deposits can be washed from the removable nylon filter under running water.

Decalcification

The decalcification intervals depend on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use. Decalcification should be carried out every 3 to 4 months.

If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.

Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.

This appliance conforms with the CE directives for radio interference suppression and low-voltage safety and has been built to meet current safety requirements.

We undertake to guarantee the appliance sold by our company for 24 months as of the date of purchase (cash receipt).

During the life of the warranty we shall provide for the repair or replacement of the appliance owing to material or manufacturing defects absolutely free of charge.

Proof for the warranty is provided by the purchase document. The replacement and repair will not be performed free of charge without this proof of purchase.

Should the warranty be valid, please consign the complete appliance in its original packing together with the cash receipt to your local dealer.

You are not entitled to the replacement of the appliance owing to broken glass parts and faulty accessories. However, said parts will be replaced free of charge. In this case only the faulty accessory needs to be ordered without sending back the whole appliance!

The cleaning, servicing and replacement of wear parts are not covered by this warranty and hence are to be paid for.

The warranty is terminated in case of handling on the part of Third parties.

After the warranty

Once the warranty has expired, repairs can be carried out by specialized technicians or repair services against the payment of the service.
