How to use the Defrost function (DEFROST)?

To defrost frozen bread, lower the lever and press the DEFROST button. The toaster defrosts and then toasts the bread automatically.

What to do if the toaster does not turn on?

Check that the power plug is properly connected and that the lever is pressed down fully until it clicks. If the problem persists, consult a specialist.

How to clean the crumb tray?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Remove the crumb tray by pulling it out, empty the crumbs, then replace it. Never wash the tray in the dishwasher.

Can I toast buns?

Yes, use the provided bun warmer rack. Place the buns on the rack over the slots and select the desired browning level.

How to use the Hamburger function?

This function toasts only the inside of hamburger bun halves. Place the halves with the cut side facing inward and press HAMBURGER after lowering the lever.

What does the indicator light mean?

The light turns on when you activate a special function (DEFROST, REHEAT, HAMBURGER). It indicates that the function is active.

Can I interrupt the toasting cycle?

Yes, press the STOP button to immediately stop toasting. The bread rises automatically.

What is the recommended browning level for first use?

Start with a low setting (position 1 or 2) to avoid burning the bread. Adjust to your taste after each use.

How to avoid risk of burns?

Do not touch the metal parts during use (they become hot). Keep the appliance away from flammable objects and never leave it unattended.

What to do if smoke comes out of the toaster?

During first use, a slight smoke and odor are normal (removal of protective coating). If smoke persists, stop the appliance and check that there are no burned crumbs in the tray.

• In order to protect children from the dangers of electrical appliances, never leave them unsupervised with the device. Consequently, when selecting the location for your device, do so in such a way that children do not have access to the device. Take care to ensure that the cable does not hang down.
• Test the device and the cable regularly for damage. If there is damage of any kind, the device should not be used.
• Do not repair the device yourself, but rather consult an authorised expert.
• For safety reasons a broken or damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an equivalent lead from the manufacturer, our customer service department or a similar qualified person.
• Keep the device and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, sharp edges and suchlike.

Special Safety Instructions for this appliance

• Always watch the unit while it is being used! (Very dry bread can start to burn when being toasted!)
• The metal parts get hot! DANGER OF BURNS!
• Do not poke into the grilling area with knives or forks, etc!
• Do not set up the unit next to inflammable objects (e.g. curtains, wood, etc.).!

Before Initial Use

In order to remove the protective layer on the heating coil you should operate the machine approximately three times when it is empty. Please select the maximum level of browning. Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation.

Operation

1. Only connect the unit to a properly installed and earthed power socket (230 volts, 50 Hz).
2. To set the toasting level turn the selector clockwise from the lightest level - 1 - to the darkest - 5. If you are not sure, start with a lower level.
3. Insert one slice of bread per toasting slot and lower the slot with the lever until it snaps into place.
4. The unit starts to toast and switches off automatically at the end. The slide pops up automatically.
5. Allow the unit to cool down before you put it away.

To use the special functions press the relevant button - REHEAT, DEFROST, HAMBURGER - after lowering the lever. The corresponding LED signals its activation.

DEFROST: To defrost and to complete the toasting of deep-frozen bread.

REHEAT: To warm bread already toasted.

HAMBURGER: For the toasting of one side of a hamburger bun half. In this case only the toaster's inner heating coils are active. The outer coils remain cold. The side of the bun to be toasted must face the inner part of the toaster.

STOP: For the anticipated stopping of the toasting procedure.

Toasting grid: For the toasting of bread rolls.

Cleaning

• Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before you clean the unit and allow the unit to cool down.
• Only use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the unit.
• Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaners.
• Pull the crumb tray out, remove any bits of bread and put the tray back in.

This appliance conforms with the CE directives for radio interference suppression and low-voltage safety and has been built to meet current safety requirements. Subject to technical changes without prior notice!

Warranty

We undertake to guarantee the appliance sold by our company for 24 months as of the date of purchase (cash receipt).

During the life of the warranty we shall provide for the repair or replacement of the appliance owing to material or manufacturing defects absolutely free of charge.

Proof for the warranty is provided by the purchase document. The replacement and repair will not be performed free of charge without this proof of purchase.

Should the warranty be valid, please consign the complete appliance in its original packing together with the cash receipt to your local dealer.

You are not entitled to the replacement of the appliance owing to broken glass parts and faulty accessories. However, said parts will be replaced free of charge. In this case only the faulty accessory needs to be ordered without sending back the whole appliance!

The cleaning, servicing and replacement of wear parts are not covered by this warranty and hence are to be paid for.

The warranty is terminated in case of handling on the part of Third parties.

Once the warranty has expired, repairs can be carried out by specialized technicians or repair services against the payment of the service.
