Frequently Asked Questions - SWKG 2000 A1 SILVERCREST

What is the maximum capacity of the SILVERCREST SWKG 2000 A1 kettle?
The maximum capacity is 1.5 liters. Never fill beyond the MAX mark indicated on the water level indicator. For optimal use, also do not fill below the MIN mark to protect the heating element.
How does the automatic shut-off of the SWKG 2000 A1 work?
The kettle automatically shuts off as soon as the water reaches boiling. A thermal protection system also cuts off power in case of overheating or if the kettle is turned on without water. To restart heating, reposition the kettle on its base and press the ON/OFF switch.
How to clean the descaling filter of the SWKG 2000 A1?
Remove the removable filter located inside the spout. Rinse it under cold running water and gently scrub with a soft brush to remove lime deposits. Replace it before each use to prevent lime particles from ending up in your drink.
How to descale the SILVERCREST SWKG 2000 A1 kettle?
Fill the kettle up to the MAX mark with a mixture of water and white vinegar (or diluted citric acid). Bring to a boil, let sit for 30 minutes, then empty and rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary. Regular descaling (every 1 to 3 months depending on water hardness) prolongs the life of the appliance.
What to do if the kettle does not turn on?
First, check that the kettle is correctly placed on its power base and that it is plugged in. Make sure the water level is at least at the MIN mark. If the appliance remains inactive after overheating, let it cool for a few minutes before restarting it.
Can the remaining water in the kettle be reused?
Yes, but it is recommended not to leave water sitting too long in the kettle (more than a few hours) as this promotes bacterial growth and lime deposits. Empty unused water and rinse the interior if necessary before refilling.
The kettle stops before the water boils, is this normal?
No, this is not normal. It may indicate a significant lime deposit on the heating element, disrupting temperature detection. Perform a complete descaling of the kettle. If the problem persists, check that the kettle is properly on its base and that the electrical contacts are clean.
How to properly use the SWKG 2000 A1 for the first time?
Before the first use, fill the kettle with cold water up to the MAX mark and boil once, then discard this water. Repeat the operation a second time. This eliminates any manufacturing residue and ensures healthy drinking water from the start.
The lid of the SWKG 2000 A1 kettle won't open, what should I do?
The kettle is equipped with a safety lid with button unlocking. Firmly press the unlock button located on the handle or top of the appliance. If the lid remains stuck, check for lime deposits around the hinge - descaling may resolve the problem.
Can the SWKG 2000 A1 kettle be washed in the dishwasher?
No. The kettle and its power base are not dishwasher safe. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and the glass interior with warm water. Never immerse the electric base in water.
What are the normal sounds during the use of the SWKG 2000 A1?
Crackling or gurgling sounds are completely normal during heating: they are related to the thermal expansion of the glass and bubble formation. A whistling sound at the end of the cycle indicates that boiling is imminent. These sounds gradually disappear after several uses.
What is the power of the SILVERCREST SWKG 2000 A1 kettle?
The SWKG 2000 A1 kettle has a power of 2,000 W under 220-240 V~ / 50 Hz. This high power allows 1.5 liters of water to be brought to a boil quickly, in just a few minutes.

What does error code E2 mean on the SILVERCREST SWKG 2000 A1 kettle and how can it be resolved?
Frequently Asked Questions - 07/04/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The error code E2 on the SILVERCREST SWKG 2000 A1 kettle generally indicates a problem related to overheating or a malfunction of the temperature sensor. Here’s how to resolve this issue:

Steps to correct error code E2:

  • Turn off and unplug the kettle: For your safety, unplug the device and allow it to cool completely.
  • Check the water level: Ensure that the kettle contains enough water. Operating it empty can cause overheating and generate this error code.
  • Clean the kettle: Limescale deposits or impurities can disrupt the functioning of the temperature sensor. Descale the kettle regularly according to the hardness of your water.
  • Restart the device: After cooling and cleaning, plug the kettle back in and try to operate it normally.

If the error code E2 persists despite these actions, it may indicate a hardware fault requiring technical intervention or replacement of the device.
