Remove all packaging materials. Before the first use of the coffee machine, wash the removable parts carefully in warm soapy water and rinse with clear water. Before the first use, it is absolutely necessary to operate the appliance only with water (thrice) without coffee powder in order to remove possible residue from the machine. OPERATION Important: during the use, always check that there is enough water for the preparation in the water tank. Check that the switch is in the OFF position (the side with the white point is up and the lights are off) and that the appliance is unplugged from the power supply. Fill water in the water tank. This one is removable and if you want you can remove it from the appliance to fill it. Therefore you only have to raise its lid and to pull the handle. To place it back, proceed inversely until it stops and close the lid. Insert the plug into an appropriate wall socket. Your appliance is now ready for use. PREPARING ESPRESSO According to the required number of cups insert the small filter for one cup or the large filter for two cups into the filter holder. Put the coffee powder special for expresso, that you will find in shops, into the filter. The amount of coffee can change following your taste but in general it is recommended to fill the filter completely and press the coffee with the measuring spoon. Insert the filter holder into the opening. Therefore, place the handle of the filter holder in front of the position of the appliance and pull the filter locking device to you. Insert the filter holder in the opening and turn it to the right until it stops. The handle of the filter holder has to be in front of the position of the appliance. Place one or two cup(s) on the drain and under the release valve of the filter holder. Check that the function switch is in the position “STAND BY” and place the switch on the ON position. The red power pilot light will light up and indicates that the appliance is switched on. At the same time the yellow heating pilot light lights up indicating that the heating element rises in temperatures. As soon as it is hot enough, the yellow pilot light turns off. Then slide the function switch to position . The pump will start functioning and a few seconds later the coffee will start coming out through the openings of the filter holder. At the beginning you can hear that the pump makes more noise than when the water start flowing. This is absolutely normal. When the cup(s) is (are) filled, slide the function switch to position 0 and the water will stop flowing. To prepare other expressos, empty the used coffee in the filter. Therefore you have to remove the filter holder by turning it to the left. Push the filter locking device in order to block it and beat the filter holder above the bin. Rinse with clear water and fill the filter again with the desired amount of coffee. Proceed as described here above.Copies of the I/B. PREPARING CAPPUCCINO First of all prepare a coffee as described here above letting enough place for the milk. Then fill the desired milk quantity into a heat resistant container (it has to be large enough to avoid splashing) and place it under the steam nozzle. Immerse the steam nozzle completely in the milk in order to reduce splashing. Set the function switch to position . The pump will start functioning in a jerky way (it is absolutely normal) and the milk will start frothing, which means that the steam is coming out. When you obtain the required smoothness, place the function switch to the position “STAND BY”. Then pour the preparation in your cup.
Switch off your appliance thanks to the switch. The red pilot light will turn off and unplug the appliance from the power supply. Check the water level in the collecting tank under the drain by controlling the red indication in this thank. When the water level is too high (NB: This tank becomes filled regularly during the use of the appliance), empty the tank. Therefore remove it from the base by both tongues on the side and place it again. It is also recommended to empty the coffee and to rinse the filter and the filter holder after each use for a question of hygiene.
It is essential to note the safety instructions. Clean the filter holder and the filter with warm soapy water. You can use the produced steam to clean the filter and the head of the filter holder but pay attention not to get burned. After having made a cappuccino, clean the tip of the steam nozzle. You can remove it by pulling on it. It is recommended to wipe the metal tube in order to avoid limestone marks. Clean the outer surfaces using a soft, damp cloth and a gentle cleaner. Never use abrasive cleaners and hard utensils. Empty the collecting tank regularly for a question of hygiene.Copies of the I/B.
