Cleaning and maintenance

Warning!

  • Before cleaning or maintenance, switch off the appliance, remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down.

Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth. Thoroughly dry the outside of the appliance with a clean, dry cloth.

Clean the accessories after each use:

  • Clean the coffee pot in soapy water or in the dishwasher.
  • Clean the coffee filter and the coffee filter holder in soapy water.
  • Rinse the accessories under running water.
  • Thoroughly dry the accessories.

Your 240301 Nova coffee maker has been designed for making coffee. You can make coffee using the supplied coffee filter or using paper coffee filters (1x4). The appliance is suitable for indoor use only. The appliance is suitable for domestic use only.

Note: The coffee pot is not suitable for use in the microwave.

Initial use

To clean the inside of the appliance before • first use, only use water for the first few times. Refer to the section "Hints for use". Do not use a coffee filter or any ground coffee. When finished, dispose of the water.

Clean the appliance. Refer to the section • "Cleaning and maintenance".

Clean the accessories. Refer to the section • "Cleaning and maintenance".

Use

Setting the time (fig. B)

Clock

Press the program button (16) once.

The clock indicator (21) comes on.

Repeatedly press the hour button (17) to set the hours.

Repeatedly press the minute button (17) to set the minutes.

Press the program button (16) again to save the settings. The clock indicator (21) goes off.

Timer

The appliance has a delay start function which makes it possible to program the time for starting the coffee-making process.

Press the program button (16) twice. The · timer indicator (22) comes on.

Repeatedly press the hour button (17) to set the hours.

Repeatedly press the minute button (17) to set the minutes.

Press the program button (16) again to save the settings. The timer indicator (22) goes off.

Note: You can cancel the delay start function at any time by pressing the on/off button (12) once. If you want to make coffee immediately, press the on/off button (12) again.

Hints for use (fig. A & B)

Warning!

- Before filling the water reservoir, switch off the appliance and remove the mains plug from the wall socket.

- Do not fill the water reservoir with more water than required for making the coffee.

Caution!

  • Do not use the appliance without water in the water reservoir.
  • Do not exceed the maximum mark when you fill the water reservoir. Make sure that the water level is always above the minimum mark during use.
  • Only use cold water to fill the water reservoir.
  • Do not use carbonated water or other liquids to fill the water reservoir.
  • If you use other coffee filters, only use paper coffee filters (1x4) that are suitable for the appliance.

Place the appliance on a stable and flat surface.

Open the cover (4).

Fill the water reservoir (6) with water up to the required mark on the water level indicator (5).

Move the coffee dispenser (5) towards the rear of the appliance.

Place the coffee filter holder (3) into the appliance.

Take one of the following actions: •

  • Place the supplied coffee filter (2) in the coffee filter holder (3).
  • Place a suitable paper coffee filter in the coffee filter holder (3).

Put the required amount of coffee in the • coffee filter.

Move the coffee dispenser (5) towards the front of the appliance.

Close the cover (4).

  • Place the coffee pot (8) on the heating plate (10).
    Insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
  • If you want to use the delay start function, set the timer. Refer to the section "Setting the time".
  • To switch on the appliance, press the on/off button (12). The on/off indicator (13) comes on. The appliance starts making coffee.

Warning!

  • Do not remove the cover from the water reservoir during the coffee-making process.
    • If you want to interrupt the process:

  • To pause the process, press the pause button (14). The on/off indicator (1) goes off. The pause indicator (15) comes on.

  • To resume the process, press the on/off button (12) once. The pause indicator (15) goes off.
  • To start making coffee again, press the on/off button (12) again. The on/off indicator (13) comes on.

If the process is completed, the appliance will switch to keep-warm mode.

  • To switch off the appliance, press the on/off button (1). The on/off indicator (1) goes off.
  • Remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
  • Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
