What power adapter to use for the NSM2?

The NanoStation NSM2 is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) at 24V. Use only the PoE adapter supplied by Ubiquiti to avoid damage.

How to mount the NanoStation on a pole?

Place the NanoStation against the pole and secure it using the provided zip tie. Adjust alignment if necessary to optimize reception.

Is the NanoStation NSM2 compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11ac?

No, the NSM2 operates only on 2.4 GHz and supports 802.11b/g/n standards. For 5 GHz, choose the NSM5 model.

How to reset the NSM2 to factory settings?

Press and hold the Reset button on the enclosure (near the Ethernet port) for about 10 seconds until the LEDs blink. The device will reboot with default settings.

What is the maximum range of the NanoStation NSM2?

Range depends on environment and antennas. In open field, it can reach several kilometers in point-to-point links. In standard use, expect a few hundred meters.

Can I use the NSM2 as an indoor Wi-Fi access point?

Yes, but it is designed for outdoor use. It also works indoors, but its directional antenna is optimized for long-distance links.

How to know if my device is under warranty?

Standard Ubiquiti warranty is 1 year from purchase date. Check on the official Ubiquiti website by entering your device's serial number.

What to do if the AirOS interface does not load?

Check that your computer is on the same subnet (192.168.1.x) and that the NanoStation IP address is 192.168.1.20. Try disabling the firewall or using another browser.

Does the NSM2 support bridge mode?

Yes, you can configure the NanoStation in bridge mode via AirOS to wirelessly connect two Ethernet networks. Use the dedicated configuration profiles.

Installation Requirements

• Shielded Category 5 (or above) cabling should be used for all wired Ethernet connections and should be grounded through the AC ground of the PoE.

TERMS OF USE: Ubiquiti radio devices must be professionally installed. Shielded Ethernet cable and earth grounding must be used as conditions of product warranty. TOUGHCable™ is designed for outdoor installations. It is the professional installer's responsibility to follow local country regulations, including operation within legal frequency channels, output power, and Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) requirements.

Hardware Installation

1. Press the Port Cover Release Button on the back of the NanoStation and slide the cover off.

1. Connect an Ethernet cable from a powered switch (24V) to the Ethernet Port of the NanoStation and replace the cover.

Pole Mount Option

Position the NanoStation against pole and secure with the Zip Tie. Adjust alignment as needed.

Wall Mount Option

1. Secure the Wall-Mount Bracket to the wall using two screws.
2. Attach the NanoStation to the Wall-Mount Bracket.

Accessing airOS

1. Ensure the host system is connected via Ethernet to the NanoStation.
2. Configure the host system with an IP address on the 192.168.1.x subnet.
3. Launch a web browser and type https://192.168.1.20 in the address field. Press enter (PC) or return (Mac).

1. When the login screen appears, type ubnt for the username and password and select your country and language.
2. You must agree to the Terms of Use to use the product. Click Login.
