Frequently Asked Questions - PowerPro Ultimate FC9921 PHILIPS

How do I clean the filter of my Philips PowerPro Ultimate vacuum cleaner?
The filter is washable. Remove it and rinse it with cold water. Make sure it is completely dry before reinstalling. Do not dry it in the sun, on a radiator or in a dryer. Replace it if it is damaged or can no longer be cleaned properly.
What should I do if suction power decreases?
First check the dust compartment: if it is full, empty it. Then clean or replace the filters. Make sure the power is not set too low. Finally, check that the nozzle, tube or hose is not blocked; if so, detach the element and blow air through it in the opposite direction.
Can I vacuum liquids with this vacuum cleaner?
No, it is dangerous. Never vacuum water, liquids, flammable substances or hot ashes. This could damage the appliance and cause an accident.
How do I replace the vacuum cleaner filter?
Only use appropriate Philips filters. You can order them at www.shop.philips.com/service or from your Philips dealer. Follow the instructions in the manual for installation.
The remote control of my vacuum cleaner no longer works, what should I do?
First check that the batteries are inserted correctly and respect the polarity. If they are empty, replace them with batteries of the same type. You can continue to use the vacuum cleaner with the on/off button on the appliance.
How do I empty the dust compartment?
Unplug the vacuum cleaner. Open the compartment and empty its contents into a trash bin. Close it properly before using the appliance again. Clean the compartment if necessary.
Why does the vacuum cleaner produce electric shocks?
This is due to static electricity. This especially occurs in rooms with low humidity. To remedy this, discharge the appliance by frequently touching the tube against metal objects (table legs, radiator). You can also increase the humidity of the room.
Where can I buy accessories for my Philips vacuum cleaner?
Check the website www.shop.philips.com/service or go to your Philips dealer. You can also contact the Philips Consumer Service in your country (details on the warranty leaflet).
How do I register my Philips product?
Go to www.philips.com/welcome and follow the instructions to register your vacuum cleaner. This will allow you to benefit from support and warranty.
Can I use the vacuum cleaner without a filter?
No, never. Using the vacuum cleaner without a filter can damage the motor and reduce its lifespan. Make sure a filter is always in place.
