USER MANUAL SM 3730 SEVERIN

Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the blender. Th is product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

- Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

- The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.

- Do not operate the appliance if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord. Damage cannot always be detected from the outside; the entire unit should therefore be checked by a qualified technician before it is used again.

- No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with. Any misuse can cause severe personal injury.

- Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected. Always remove the plug from the wall socket, even if you leave the room only for a short while

- The appliance may only be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.

● Children must not be permitted to operate the appliance. The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children.

● Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.

- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.

- Do not allow the unit or its power cord to touch hot surfaces or to come into contact with any heat sources.

- Caution: The blades are extremely sharp. To prevent injury, take special care when emptying or cleaning the bowl, or when otherwise handling the blender attachment.

● After switching off, always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill. Do not touch any moving parts.

- During operation, the unit should be placed on a scratch-resistant surface.

● This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as in

• staff kitchens, offices and other commercial environments,
• agricultural areas,
• hotels, motels etc. and similar establishments,
• bed-and-breakfast guest houses.

- In order to comply with safety regulations

and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. The addresses can be found in the appendix to this manual.

Before using for the first time

- Before the appliance is used for the first time, all detachable parts must be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section General care and cleaning.

The blender is equipped with 2 push-type operating buttons.

Blender operation

- When fi tting the blender attachment to the drive unit, ensure that the arrow mark and the open-lock symbol are aligned: to lock, turn the blender attachment so that the arrow on the drive unit is aligned with the lock symbol on the attachment.

- Always use a suitable container for operation. Any tall container with a flat base is suitable.

- Push the blender attachment down into the ingredients in the bowl before switching the unit on with the operation buttons.

- Make sure that the attachments can rotate freely inside the bowl and are not blocked during operation.

- As soon as the operating button is released, the blender will switch off. Always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before lifting the blender attachment from the mixture.

- Remove the plug from the wall socket after use.

Blender models with plastic blender attachment:

Do not immerse attachment in hot liquid, or in any other hot substance.

For maximum performance, the following recipe may be used:

Blend 250 ml water und 250 g carrots for 15 seconds.

General care and cleaning

● Always remove the plug from the wall socket before cleaning the appliance.

- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the drive unit or the power cord with water and do not immerse them in water. The drive unit may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

- Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or sharp or pointed objects for cleaning.

- The blender attachment can be cleaned in a dish-washer, or with hot water and a mild detergent. Caution: the blades on the blender attachment are extremely sharp.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

Guarantee

Th is product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. Th is guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

Th is guarantee naturally does not cover wear

and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. Th is guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
