How to turn on the Hi-Fi system?
To turn on, set the source selector to CD or TUNER. To turn off, set it to OFF.
How to tune the radio?
Select TUNER with the source selector. Choose MW or FM band using the BAND button. Turn TUNING to tune a station.
How to play a CD?
Set the selector to CD. Open the OPEN/CLOSE lid, insert a disc with the label facing up, close it. Press ▶ II to start playback.
How to program tracks?
In stop mode, press PROG. Use ◀◀ or ▶▶ to select a track, then press PROG to memorize it. Repeat for up to 20 tracks. Press ▶ II to start programmed playback.
How to activate repeat of a track or the disc?
Press REPEAT repeatedly: once to repeat the current track (indicator flashes), twice to repeat the entire CD or program (indicator on). Press again until off to return to normal playback.
What to do if the CD does not play?
Check that the CD is inserted correctly (label facing up). Clean the disc with a soft cloth from center to edge. Wait for any condensation on the lens to dissipate. Ensure the CD-R/W has a closed session. If the problem persists, use a cleaning CD.
Why is there no sound?
Check that the volume is not at minimum. Make sure no headphones are plugged in. The source selector must be on CD or TUNER. Check the mains power or battery condition.
How to improve radio reception?
For FM, extend and orient the telescopic antenna. If the signal is weak, set BAND to FM (mono). For MW, rotate the unit as the antenna is internal.
How to clean the tape heads?
Open the cassette compartment. Use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to clean the heads (A), capstan (B), and pinch roller (C) while pressing the corresponding keys. You can also use a special cleaning cassette.
What batteries to use and how to change them?
Use 8 batteries of type R14, UM-2, or C, preferably alkaline. Open the compartment, insert them observing polarity. Do not mix new and old batteries, nor different types. Remove batteries if the unit is not used for a long time.
