This instruction manual has been drawn up in compliance with the European Standard EN 62079. ATTENTION! Instructions and warnings for a safe use. ILLUSTRATIVE GUIDE I

• Remove the packaging. Check the appliance and the accessories against the drawing and make sure these were not damaged in any way during transport. If in doubt, do not use the device and contact the authorised assistance service.

• Donotletchildrenplaywiththepackaging!Keeptheplasticwrappingoutofthe reach of children; risk of suffocation!

• Beforeconnectingtheappliancetothemains,checkthatthemainsvoltageisthe same as the voltage rating stated on the identification plate. The identification plate is attached to the device. 6GB

• This appliance must be used only for the purpose for which it was designed, that is as a TOASTER for home use. Any other use is improper and therefore dangerous.

• Thisappliancemaybeusedbychildrenbelow12yearsofage,bypersonswith reduced physical, sensorial or mental abilities or by unskilled persons only if they have been instructed beforehand concerning its safe use and if they have been informed on the risks linked to the product. Children cannot play with the appliance. The appliance cannot be cleaned or serviced by children without adult supervision. Keep the appliance and the power cable away from the reach of childrenbelow12yearsofagewhenitisonorheatingup.

DO NOT use the appliance with damp or wet hands or feet.

DO NOT pull on the power cable or appliance to unplug it from the mains socket.

DO NOT expose the appliance to humidity or weather conditions (rain, sunlight).

Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance and whenever you do not need to use it.

• In case of fault or malfunctioning of the appliance, switch it off and do not tamper with it. If the device needs to be repaired, contact an authorized technical assistance centre.

• Ifthepowercableisdamaged,itmustbereplacedbyanauthorisedtechnical service centre, so as to prevent all risks.

NEVER submerge the appliance in water and never place it underneath a tap with running water.

• Theapplianceisnotintendedtobeoperatedbyanexternaltimer,byaseparate remote control system or by other similar devices. ATTENTION! Hot surface. RISK OF BURNS – do not touch the rack, the cooking unit or the external surfaces while operating, even after use, until they cool off. Bread could burn. Therefore the toaster must not be used underneath or next to combustible materials, such as curtains. Keep on eye on the appliance during use.

• DO NOT use the appliance near a washbasin full of water. During use, the appliance must be placed in such a way that it cannot fall into the washbasin.

FUNCTIONING The operating knob (8) has the following positions: SYMBOL ON PRODUCT FUNCTION ECO To limit energy consumption during cooking. To toast bread and to make toast with garlic & olive oil. NORMAL USE To speed up the cooking process. To cook stuffed toast. ATTENTION! All parts which come into contact with food during use of the appliance must be washed properly beforehand. Never submerge the toaster in water! CLEANING THE RACK (1) AND CRUMB TRAY (5)

• Therack(1)andcrumbtray(5)canbewashed: - by hand, with water and cleanser; - in the dishwasher; make sure that the temperature of the water does not exceed 60°C. 8GB CLEANING SIDES OF TOASTER (3)

• The first time you use the appliance, wait a few minutes before inserting food: when the appliance is new it could emit some smoke.

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

If the problem indicated occurs, adopt the suggested solution: Problem Possible cause Solution The toast is not cooked well enough. The cooking time was too short. Turn the timer (6) to the desired cooking time once again. Waitfortheacousticsignaltosoundat the end of cooking and then take the rack out (1). The toaster emits smoke. Whentheapplianceis new it could emit some smoke. The first time you use the appliance, wait a few minutes before inserting food. DISPOSAL Theproductispackagedinrecyclablematerials.Disposeofitincompliancewiththe environmental protection standards. The product must be disposed of properly, in accordance with the provisions of European standard 2002/96/EC.
