How to use the Imetec ECO TS toaster?

Press the handle to open the rack, insert the slice of bread, then release the handle to close. Put the rack into the cooking compartment, plug in the appliance, select the mode (Eco or Normal Use) with the function button, then turn the timer to set the cooking time. An acoustic signal indicates the end of cooking.

What to do if the bread is not cooked enough?

The cooking time was too short. Turn the timer again to add extra cooking time, then wait for the acoustic signal before removing the rack.

Why does my toaster smoke during first uses?

This is normal: the new appliance may emit a little smoke. During first uses, wait a few minutes before inserting food.

How to clean the toaster?

Remove the rack and the crumb tray. They can be washed by hand with soap and water, or in the dishwasher at a maximum temperature of 60°C. The housing and cable are cleaned with a well-wrung damp sponge. Never immerse the appliance in water.

Can I put the rack in the dishwasher?

Yes, the rack and the crumb tray are dishwasher safe. Make sure the water temperature does not exceed 60°C.

What to do if the power cord is damaged?

The cord must be replaced by an approved technical assistance center to prevent any risk. Do not use the appliance if the cord is damaged.

Can I insert food wrapped in aluminum foil?

No, never insert food wrapped in aluminum foil into the rack. This could damage the appliance or cause a fire.

How to empty the crumb tray?

Pull the crumb tray (5) outward to remove it. Empty the crumbs, then clean it by hand or in the dishwasher. Put it back in the appliance before next use.

What is the difference between Eco and Normal Use modes?

The Eco mode limits energy consumption during cooking, ideal for toasting regular bread. The Normal Use mode speeds up the cooking process, suitable for filled bread slices or faster cooking.

SAFETYWARNINGS

• Remove the packaging. Check the appliance and the accessories against the drawing and make sure these were not damaged in any way during transport. If in doubt, do not use the device and contact the authorised assistance service.
• Do not let children play with the packaging! Keep the plastic wrapping out of the reach of children; risk of suffocation!
• Before connecting the appliance to the mains, check that the mains voltage is the same as the voltage rating stated on the identification plate. The identification plate is attached to the device.

• This appliance must be used only for the purpose for which it was designed, that is as a TOASTER for home use. Any other use is improper and therefore dangerous.
• This appliance may be used by children below 12 years of age, by persons with reduced physical, sensorial or mental abilities or by unskilled persons only if they have been instructed beforehand concerning its safe use and if they have been informed on the risks linked to the product. Children cannot play with the appliance. The appliance cannot be cleaned or serviced by children without adult supervision. Keep the appliance and the power cable away from the reach of children below 12 years of age when it is on or heating up.
  DO NOT use the appliance with damp or wet hands or feet.
  DO NOT pull on the power cable or appliance to unplug it from the mains socket.
  DO NOT expose the appliance to humidity or weather conditions (rain, sunlight).
  Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance and whenever you do not need to use it.
• In case of fault or malfunctioning of the appliance, switch it off tamper with it. If the device needs to be repaired, contact an authorized technical assistance centre.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorised technical service centre, so as to prevent all risks.
  NEVER submerge the appliance in water and never place it underneath a tap with running water.
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by an external timer, by a separate remote control system or by other similar devices.

DO NOT use the appliance near a washbasin full of water. During use, the appliance must be placed in such a way that it cannot fall into the washbasin.
DO NOT use near the kitchen hob. Be careful not to let the cable touch hot, incandescent surfaces, open flames, pans or other utensils.

FUNCTIONING

The operating knob (8) has the following positions:

CLEANING THE RACK (1) AND CRUMB TRAY (5)

• Remove the rack (1) from the cooking unit (2) [Fig B].

• Remove the crumb tray (5) [Fig C].
  The rack (1) and crumb tray (5) can be washed:

• by hand, with water and cleanser;

• in the dishwasher; make sure that the temperature of the water does not exceed 60^ .

CLEANING SIDES OF TOASTER (3)

• Use a moist and well wrung sponge to clean the sides of the toaster (3) and the power cable (4).

USE

IMPORTANT!

Never place hands, forks or other utensils inside of the cooking unit (2) even when the appliance is off.

Do not insert food wrapped in metallic foil inside the rack (1).

• The first time you use the appliance, wait a few minutes before inserting food: when the appliance is new it could emit some smoke.

• Press the grip (8) to open the rack (1) and then insert the bread [Fig D].

• Release the grip (8) to close the rack (1) [Fig E].
• Insert the rack (1) into the cooking unit (2) [Fig F].
  Plug the power cable (4) into the socket.
• Turn the operating knob (7) to either Eco or Normal use.
• Turn the timer (6) to the desired cooking time.
• Wait for the acoustic signal to sound at the end of cooking and then take the rack out (1).

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

If the problem indicated occurs, adopt the suggested solution:

Problem Possible cause Solution
The toast is not cooked well enough.	The cooking time was too short.	Turn the timer (6) to the desired cooking time once again. Wait for the acoustic signal to sound at the end of cooking and then take the rack out (1).
The toaster emits smoke.	When the appliance is new it could emit some smoke.	The first time you use the appliance, wait a few minutes before inserting food.

DISPOSAL

The product is packaged in recyclable materials. Dispose of it in compliance with the environmental protection standards.

The product must be disposed of properly, in accordance with the provisions of European standard 2002/96/EC. The recyclable materials contained in the appliance must be recovered so as to prevent environmental pollution. For further information, contact the local waste disposal facility or the appliance dealer.
