How to connect the Intenso Memory Tower hard drive to my computer?

Connect the AC adapter to the hard drive and to a power outlet. Press the power button on the front. Then connect the hard drive to your computer using the supplied USB cable (USB-B plug on the drive, USB-A on the computer). The LED blinks when ready.

What does the blinking LED indicator mean?

The LED blinks when the hard drive is reading or writing data. A steady light indicates the drive is powered on and in standby.

Is the hard drive compatible with Mac?

Yes, it is compatible with Mac OS 10.x. You may need to reformat the drive to a compatible format if using it exclusively with a Mac (e.g., HFS+ or exFAT).

Can I use this hard drive with a USB 3.0 port?

Yes, it is backwards compatible. However, the speed will be limited to USB 2.0 (480 Mbit/s).

How to safely eject the hard drive?

On Windows, click the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in the taskbar. On Mac, drag the drive icon to the Trash. Wait for the LED to turn off before disconnecting.

What to do if my computer does not detect the hard drive?

Check that the AC adapter is plugged in and the drive is powered on. Try a different USB port or cable. Make sure USB drivers are up to date. If the problem persists, test on another computer.

Is the hard drive under warranty?

Yes, a limited warranty is included. It does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, opening of the casing, or data loss. Keep your receipt.

Can I leave the hard drive on permanently?

It is not recommended to leave it on continuously to avoid premature wear. Turn it off when not in use and unplug it during thunderstorms.

How to clean the hard drive?

What to do in case of data loss?

Intenso cannot be held responsible for data loss. Regularly back up data to another medium. In case of issues, contact a data recovery specialist.

Installation Instructions

System Requirements:

This hard drive is compatible with the operating systems MS Windows XP/Vista/ Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.x.

Please note: Your PC's hardware configuration as well as the operating system employed can influence the compatibility of the hard drive.

Hard Drive Connection:

Connect the power supply provided to the external hard drive. Insert the other ending of the power supply into the plug. To switch on push the closing switch / on-off switch (1/0) on the frontal side of the box.

To connect the external hard drive to your computer, please use only the USB cable provided. Connect the USB plug type B with the Intenso hard drive and the plug of the USB type A with your computer.

The computer automatically detects the "New Device" and installs the driver. Please wait until driver installation is completed. Your computer now shows an additional drive named "Intenso".

As soon as the hard drive is connected to your computer, the LED flashes. The LED flashes, when writing or reading procedure is carried out.
