DT303CI INTRODUCTION Thank you for acquiring the DT303CI Rugged Tablet. Featuring a slim yet robust enclosure, the DT303CI with 10.1” touchscreen is powered a Qualcomm® 8-core processor, offeringoptimalcombinationofperformance andpowersavings. TheDT303Clis available with Android operating system andfeatures streamline operations forimproved productivity, data accuracy, andother related services. PRECAUTIONS + Always exercise care when operating and handling the DT303CI. + Do NOT apply excessive pressure to the display screen. *__werecommendusingthe Digital Pen (optional) tokeepthe screen clean. + Avoid prolonged exposure of the display panel to any strong heat source. Wherever possible, the DT303CI should face away from direct light to reduce glare. +__ifthe AC-DC power adapter is used to recharge or power the tablet, do NOT use any AC-DC adapter other than the one provided or acquired from the manufac- turer or its partners. + In the unlikely event that smoke, abnormal noise, or strange odor is present, immediately power off the DT303CI and disconnect all power sources. Reportthe problem to your device provider immediately. Battery/PowerLED *__ Never attemptto disassemble the DT303CI, as this will voidthe warranty. BASIC FEATURES The DT303CI rugged tablet integrates a bright display, USB ports, and embedded networking elements such as wireless LAN. Input/Output Ports A DT303CI typically integrates an 802.11ac wireless LAN (WLAN) adapter that may @ ocinik Gack Camera (Optional) connect to other wireless devices or access points. OPERATION Powering ON and OFF ToactivatetheDT303CI,pushandquicklyreleasethe Power Button. The display will come on in a few seconds. To put the DT303C in Standby mode, push and quickly release the Power Button. Toturn the DT303Cl off for extended storage, power off safely using any software function that “shuts down computer” providedinthe software operating system. NOTE: Thebatterypackshippedwithyourtabletmaybelowinpower—pleaseuse theAC-DC adapterwiththeDT303Clwhensettingupforthefirsttimetofully charge the battery pack, or use the optional battery charger kit. NOTE: Whenthebatterypackischarging,theblue-coloredBattery LED shouldblink slowly. fplugginginthe AC-DC adapter does nottriggerthis blinking activity andthe LED stays dark, thebattery pack(s) may havebeen drainedsubstantially. Tryunplugging/repluggingthe AC-DC adaptertothe DT303Clafewtimesto activate the chargingprocess. NOTE: Toconservepower,use (pushandquickrelease)the PowerButtontoputthe tabletin“Standby"modewhilenotinuse. Pushingbrieflyonthesame button will wake up the system within seconds. NOTE: ForDT303CI,avoidusingthe Power Button (“hold9+seconds”feature)toturn offthetablet—thisformofhardware shutdownis intendedto be ameans of recovery from lockups, and not as normal operation. Start Up lfthe power up (from Standby mode orotherwise) is successful, the appropriate interface willbe displayed after alaunch sequence ofseveral seconds. The wireless LAN connection may take 10-15 seconds to be established. Configuring the Mobile Tablet TheDT303CImaybeconfiguredusingtheutilities and methodsdictatedby the software operatingsystem. The DT303CIshouldbe configurable for various properties such as userprofiles,networkfeatures, andseveralsystemelements. Wireless Networking Wireless LAN TheDT303Clisoftendeliveredwithanembedded (user-inaccessible) 802.1 1ac WLAN adapter equipped with a hidden custom antenna. + Through the support of typical WLAN adapters, the DT303CI should be able to detect all 802.11 access points in the vicinity for you to select the access point of your choice forconnection. <__TheSSID and WEP/WPA/WPA2 (if enabled) parameters onthe DT303CI andthe access points have to match. The SSIDis case-sensitive anditis recommended thatyouenable WEP/WPA/WPA2encryption (oradvancedalternatives) for secure access. + __ When WEP/WPA/WPA2is enabled, you may need to consult your network administrator or your networking equipment literature to properly configure associated settings such as Authentication mode, etc. + __Refertothe access pointoperating manuals for setting upthe 802.11 access points.

Peripherals Support Through its USB ports, the DT303CI supports a wide range of USB-based peripherals. These peripherals are applicable for software installation, applications storage, data storage, and system software recovery and updates. Battery Usage and Maintenance DT Research tablets and laptops are powered by lithium polymer battery packs in proprietary form factors. Battery configurations forthe DT Research devices include internal (bridge or backup), removable or swappable implementations. Battery usage cycles, or duration between necessary re-charge, vary with anumber of factors, including device model, device usage pattern and battery health/aging. The DTR battery packs may be charged while attachedto the device orwhen sepa- rated from the device and docked in proprietary battery charging cradles. Following theguidelinesongoodpracticebelowcanhelptokeepabatterypackhealthyand prolong battery usage cycles and battery lifespan. <__Avoid high heat conditions during operation, idle, charging, and storage states. -_Avoidlettingthebatterypackremainin veryhighly chargedstate oroverly low charged state for extensive periods of time. Keepingthe battery capacity between 30% and 80% of maximum capacity is recommended. The prevailing battery level(s)canbereadfromthe Battery utilitywithinthe Windows operat- ing system. <__Avoid letting the battery be over-discharged or depleted. Over-discharge can occurwhenafully-discharged (0% level orthereabouts) battery packis allowed toremaininsuchastate for an extended period oftime (weeks or months). Theembeddedbatterycontrolsenteraprotection mode andrechargingwillbe prevented for safety reasons. To reduce the likelihood of over-discharge, consider rechargingidle batteries regularly to some level between 30%-80% of capacity. © Disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, that can result in an explosion. © Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
