ENGLISH | VITROCERAMIC COOKTOP Use and maintenance instructions & Guarantee
Carefully read the contents of this leaflet since it provides important instructions regarding safety of installation, operation and maintenance. Keep the leaflet for future reference. All the operations relating to installation (electrical connections) must be carried out by specialised personnel in accordance with current regulations. This appliance complies with electromagnetic safety standards.
SAFETY
1. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
- Use the cooktop only in household-type situations for the preparation and warming of food. All other types of use void the guarantee.
- WARNING: The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements. Children less than 8 years of age shall be kept away unless continuously supervised.
- Individuals who are incapable of using the appliance safely because of their physical, sensory or mental capabilities or their lack of experience or knowledge must not use this appliance without supervision or instruction by a responsible person.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the cooktop unless they are under constant supervision.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Installation, repair and maintenance work should only be performed by an authorized service technician. Work by unqualified persons could be dangerous for the user.
- No combustible materials or products should be placed on this appliance at any time.
- This appliance is to be properly installed and earthed only by a suitable qualified person.
- This appliance is to be connected to a circuit which incorporates an isolating switch providing full disconnection from the power supply.

Failure to install the appliance correctly could invalidate any warranty or liability claims.

Never leave the appliance unattended when in use. Boil over causes smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite.
- Never use your appliance as a work or storage surface.
- Never leave any objects or utensils on the appliance as metal objects can heat up.
- Never use your appliance for warming or heating the room.
- After use, always turn off the cooking zones and the cooktop as described in this manual.
- Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance unless specifically recommended in the manual. All other servicing should be done by a qualified technician.
- Do not place or drop heavy objects on your cooktop.
- Do not use pans with jagged edges or drag pans across the ceramic glass surface as this can scratch the glass.
- Handles of saucepans may be hot to touch. Check saucepan handles do not overhang other cooking zones that are on.
- Keep handles out of reach of children.
- Failure to follow this advice could result in burns and scalds.
WARNING: Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water. Switch off the appliance and then cover flame e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.
2. ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD DURING INSTALLATION
- Disconnect the appliance from the main electricity supply before carrying out any work or maintenance on it.
- Connection to a good earth wiring system is essential and mandatory.
- Alteration to the domestic wiring system must only be made by a qualified electrician.
- Failure to follow this advice may result in electrical shock or death.
WARNING: The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system cleaner is not to be used.
WARNING: If the supply cord of the appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
3. ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD DURING USE & MAINTENANCE
Do not cook on a broken or cracked cooktop. If the cooktop surface is broken or cracked, switch the appliance off immediately at the mains power supply (wall switch) and contact a qualified technician.
WARNING: Be very careful as panel edges might be sharp. Failure to use caution could result in injury or cuts.
4. DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed-out dustbin symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation regarding separated waste collection. Consumers should contact their local public service or their local dealer for more information on the correct disposal of exhausted household appliances.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTRUCTIONS
- The domestic appliance was built in order to be encased on a work surface, the way it is illustrated in the graph (image 1). Predispose sealing material (image 2) along the whole perimeter. Lock the domestic appliance into place with 4 clips, screwing at the sides (image 4). If the lower part of the appliance after installation, is accessible via the lower part of the furniture, it is necessary to mount a separating panel keeping in mind the distances indicated (image 3).
- Do not install refrigerators, dishwashers, non-ventilated ovens or washing machines under the appliance.
- The built-in kitchen units must withstand temperatures of up to 90^ .
- A gap of at least 90mm must be allowed between the hob and the side wall, where applicable.
- It is not recommended that the hob be placed between two side walls but, if this is the case, a gap of at least 200mm should be left on one side and a gap of 90mm on the other.
2. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS (image 5)

Before making the electrical connections, check that:

The system ratings meet the ratings indicated on the identification plate fixed on the lower part of the worktop.
- The system is fitted with efficient ground wires in accordance with the laws and current standards. Grounding is mandatory by law.
- The connection to the mains should be done with the appropriate cable and from a specialized technician.

If necessary, fit the cooper bridges supplied.

Power cord: Type H05 VV-F or higher, determinate the required wire cross-section depending on the current rating.
- A cross-section of < 1,5mm^2 is not permissible.
- If wishing to make a direct connection to the mains, an omnipolar switch must be installed with a minimum 3mm opening between the contacts and appropriate for the load indicated on the plate and in accordance with current standards (the yellow/green ground conductor must not be disconnected by a switch). When the appliance has been installed, the omnipolar switch must be easily reachable.
OPERATION
1. COOKWARE
The use of flat-bottomed pots, with a diameter equal to or slightly bigger than the heated area, is recommended. (image 7). Do not use pots that have a rough base, in order to prevent the hob thermal surface from being scratched.
2. CONNECTION TO THE MAINS
Set the power with the control knobs, rotating them clockwise or counterclockwise, knowing that the highest level corresponds to maximum power.
The indicator lights up when at least one element is operational.
The residual heat indication lamp, of each cooking zone, turns on when the respective zone's temperature is greater than 50^ .
3. HEAT SETTINGS

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Remove any residues of food and drops of grease from the cooking surface by using the special scraper supplied on request (Figure 6).
Clean the heated area as thoroughly as possible using suitable products, and a cloth/paper, then rinse with water and dry with a clean cloth.
Using the special scraper immediately remove any fragments of aluminium and plastic material that have unintentionally melted on the heated cooking area, or residues of sugar or food with a high sugar content.
In this way, any damage to the cooktop surface can be prevented. Under no circumstances should abrasive sponges, or corrosive chemical detergents, such as oven sprays or stain removers, be used.
WARNING: Steam cleaners must not be used.

ATTENTION
This guarantee card must be completed and kept in good condition by the purchaser so as to be shown on demand to a qualified technician. The following guarantee is valid for 24 months. If defective appliance operation possibly resulting from manufacturing defects is established and acknowledged within the guarantee period, the company will undertake to restore the appliance to proper working order in accordance with manufacturing specifications. The appliance shall be repaired or any faulty part thereof will be replaced at no cost to the consumer for repair work, spare parts or transportation of the appliance to company laboratories.
GUARANTEE TERMS
- The appliance must be correctly installed by an authorised technician, in accordance with the installation instructions and the information given in the appliance specifications table and local restrictions.
- This appliance is for domestic use only. All work relating to installation and connection of the appliance to mains power, operation and routine maintenance must be carried out in full compliance with the instructions contained in the Installation and Operation Manual.
- Purchase date is proved on production of a verified purchase voucher (invoice or retail sales receipt), on which the purchase date, dealer name and appliance identity particulars (type, product manufacturing number) must be clearly visible.
- The appliance must not be repaired, serviced, altered, disassembled or tampered with by an unauthorised technician.
- Any replaced faulty appliance or replaced part shall become the property of the company. The guarantee period shall not be extended as a result of repairs.
- Replacement of the appliance shall only be approved by the company in cases where proper reparation of the damage proves impossible.
GUARANTEE RESTRICTIONS
The guarantee does not cover:
- Technician callout for damage resulting from incorrect transportation, installation or operation, negligence or use of non-approved parts.
- Detachable parts made of metal, and any other parts requiring replacement on account of wear and tear.
- Damage resulting from negligence or carelessness.
- Damage resulting from failure to follow appliance operation instructions.
- Damage caused by operation of the appliance other than as indicated.
