How to install the cameras and hub?

Download the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play. Follow the in-app instructions to add the hub (via Ethernet cable) then the cameras (via Wi-Fi). Mount the cameras using the provided mounts.

What is the battery life?

Battery life can be up to 6 months in normal use, with moderate motion detection activity. Factors such as temperature, number of alerts, or video quality may reduce this duration.

How to recharge the cameras?

Remove the battery from the camera (or disassemble the camera) and plug it into a charger using the provided micro USB cable. The LED indicator turns orange during charging and green when fully charged. You can also recharge the battery while it is inside the camera.

Are the cameras waterproof?

Yes, the cameras have an IP65 protection rating, making them resistant to rain and dust. However, do not immerse them in water.

Can we record videos locally?

Yes, you can insert a microSD card (up to 256 GB) into the hub and format it via the Tapo app. Recordings are then stored locally. A cloud subscription is also available.

How to reset the cameras or hub?

To reset the hub, press and hold the RESET button for about 5 seconds. For a camera, press and hold the SYNC/RESET button for 5 seconds. The LEDs will flash to confirm the reset.

Is the battery replaceable?

The battery is removable (you can take it out of the camera) but it is not standard. In case of issues, contact TP-Link support for replacement. Do not attempt to open it yourself.

What is the field of view of the cameras?

Each camera offers a viewing angle of 130° diagonal, covering a wide area. Infrared night vision is effective up to 10 meters.

Can I receive motion alerts?

Yes, the Tapo app sends push notifications to your smartphone upon motion detection. You can adjust sensitivity and set surveillance zones.

What to do if the app does not find the camera?

Make sure the hub is properly connected to your router (Ethernet cable) and that the cameras are near the hub. Check that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz). Restart the hub and cameras, then try again.
