Frequently Asked Questions - VAL-FHB VALBERG

What is the purpose of the VALBERG VAL-FHB?
The VAL-FHB is a mobile fan heater designed for the bathroom. It quickly diffuses warm air to heat the room in a few minutes. It can also be used in other small rooms of the house.
What is the power of the VALBERG VAL-FHB?
The device has 2 power levels with a maximum power of 2,000 W. You choose the level suitable for your needs according to the size of the room and your desired comfort.
Can this heater be used in a bathroom?
Yes, the VAL-FHB is certified IP21, allowing its use in humid rooms like the bathroom. It is class II (double insulation) for enhanced electrical safety. Respect the regulatory distances from the shower tray and bathtub.
What exactly does the IP21 rating mean?
The IP21 ensures protection against the vertical fall of water droplets. The device withstands humid environments but should never be exposed to direct water splashes. Do not place it within the splash zone of the shower.
How to set the temperature with the thermostat?
The thermostat is mechanical: turn the knob to a higher value to increase the set temperature. The device turns off automatically once the temperature is reached and turns back on when the room cools down.
My heater stops abruptly, is that normal?
If the thermostat has reached the set temperature, the stop is perfectly normal. If it stops after a few minutes of intense operation, the overheat protection device has likely triggered. Turn off the device, let it cool for 15 minutes, then restart it. Check that the grills are not obstructed.
What to do if the heater blows air but no longer heats?
Check that the power selector is not in low or "cold ventilation" position. Ensure that the air intake and outlet grills are clear. If the problem persists after a complete stop and cooling cycle, contact Electro Depot's after-sales service.
Can the VAL-FHB be left on all night?
It is strongly discouraged to leave any fan heater unattended for an extended period. Use it occasionally to heat the room. Never leave it near curtains, textiles, or any other flammable material.
How to clean and maintain this device?
Always unplug the device before cleaning it. Vacuum or wipe the grills with a dry cloth to avoid dust accumulation, which reduces performance and can cause overheating. Never use liquid directly on the device.
Where to find spare parts for the VAL-FHB?
The VAL-FHB is an Electro Depot own brand. For any spare part or repair, contact Electro Depot's customer service. You can also consult specialized sites like Spareka.fr or Fixpart.fr by indicating the VAL-FHB reference.
Is the device compliant with European standards?
Yes, the VALBERG VAL-FHB complies with European directives 2014/35/EU (low voltage) and 2014/30/EU (electromagnetic compatibility). It bears the CE marking.

What is the average lifespan of the VALBERG VAL-FHB fan heater?
Frequently Asked Questions - 04/12/2025
Response Notice-Facile

The VALBERG VAL-FHB fan heater generally has an estimated lifespan of 5 to 10 years, depending on usage and maintenance conditions. This estimate is valid for domestic use in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, particularly for bathrooms and small rooms for which this device is designed.

The official manual offers a manufacturer's warranty of 2 years from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects and material failures. To benefit from this warranty, keep your purchase receipt.

Several factors directly influence the longevity of the VAL-FHB:

  • Moderate use: Using the device according to the manufacturer's recommendations extends its lifespan. This device is designed to heat small areas; avoid using it continuously.
  • Regular maintenance: Regularly clean the air inlets and outlets to prevent clogging. Always unplug the device before cleaning and use a slightly damp cloth (never detergent or direct water in the openings).
  • Installation conditions: Place the heater on a flat and stable surface. The VAL-FHB has a tip-over switch that protects it in case of a fall, but place it in a safe location, away from excessive moisture.
  • Proper storage: When not in use for an extended period, unplug it, store it in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from children and pets.

The integrated mechanical thermostat is a robust component of the VAL-FHB. Keep it in good condition by turning the knob without forcing it and avoiding shocks. The overheating protection system (temperature limit) automatically stops the device in case of overheating, which extends its lifespan by preventing electrical damage.

By following the maintenance advice in the manual and using the VAL-FHB according to its intended purpose (small areas, intermittent use), you can expect to keep this device in good working condition for most of its estimated lifespan.
