BEFORE INSTALLING THE APPLIANCE

Before connecting your appliance to the power supply, check that the voltage stated on the rating label of your appliance corresponds to the voltage in your home. A different voltage could damage the appliance. The plug is the only way to unplug the appliance and should therefore be accessible at all times. To turn off main power to the appliance, turn it off and then detach the plug from the outlet. The appliance must be grounded. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages that may occur as a result of usage without grounding. INSTALLATION Install the appliance in a dry, well ventilated room. The installation location should neither be exposed to direct sunlight nor near a heat source, e.g. a cooker, radiator, etc. To ensure adequate ventilation for the appliance, allow a minimum of 10 cm of airspace on each side of the cabinet. For uneven surfaces, front feet can be aligned. EN-7 AMBIENT TEMPERATURE This appliance is designed to operate in ambient temperature between 10°C and 38°C. If these temperatures are exceeded, i.e. colder or warmer, the appliance will not operate correctly. If the ambient temperatures are exceeded for long periods, the temperature in the freezer compartment will rise above -18°C and food spoilage may occur.

BEFORE PLACING FOOD IN THE APPLIANCE

x Remove all packaging. x Allow the appliance to run empty for 2 – 3 hours so the compartments can cool to the appropriate temperature. x Clean the inside of the appliance with warm water and a little liquid detergent to remove manufacturing and transportation dust. POWER FAILURE If there is a power failure, do not open the doors of the appliance. Frozen food should not be affected if the power failure lasts for less than 11 hours. Do not refreeze frozen foods that have thawed completely. The food may be dangerous to eat.

ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURES

This appliance has one control panel located inside the fridge compartment. 6XSHU 9KZ 9[VKXY To set the temperature inside the fridge compartment 9KZ

to select the desired temperature indicator light. x The corresponding temperature indicator light will illuminate. x There are 5 temperature settings for choice: 2°C, 3°C, 4°C, 6°C and 8°C. Super freeze function This function will help food to freeze quickly and retain its nutrients, vitamins, flavors and appearance 9KZ x To activate this function, press and hold for about 3 seconds and the indicator light illuminate. x This function will be automatically deactivated after about 50 hours of operation. x To deactivate this function, press and hold 6XSHU 9KZ 6XSHU for about 3 seconds and the indicator light will go out. EN-8

This appliance has a+ freezer temperature control inside the fridge compartment. This control is used to adjust the temperature in the freezer compartment.

¾ Slide this control towards , the temperature in the freezer compartment will be lower. MOVING YOUR APPLIANCE

If the appliance is turned off for any reason, wait for 10 minutes before turning it back on. This will allow the refrigeration system pressures to equalize before restarting. x Turn off the appliance and unplug it from the mains socket. Remove all food. Also remove all mobile parts (shelves, accessories, etc.) or fix them into the appliance to avoid any shock. x Relocate and install. If the appliance has been left on its side for any length of time, leave it standing upright for at least 10 minutes before turning on. Your appliance uses isobutane (R600a) as a refrigerant. Although R600a is an environmentally friendly and natural gas, it is explosive. Therefore you should be careful during shipment and installation to prevent your appliance’s cooler elements from being damaged. In the event of a leak caused by damage to the cooler elements, move your appliance from open flame or heat sources and ventilate the room where the appliance is located for a few minutes. EN-9

STORING FOOD IN THE FRIDGE COMPARTMENT

The refrigerator compartment helps to extend the storage times of fresh perishable foods. Freshfood care For best results: x Store foods that are very fresh and of good quality. x Ensure that food is well wrapped or covered before it is stored. This will prevent food from dehydrating, deteriorating in colour or losing taste and will help maintain freshness. It will also prevent odour transfer. x Make sure that strong smelling foods are wrapped or covered and stored away from foods such as butter, milk and cream which can be tainted by strong odours. x Cool hot foods down before placing them in the refrigerator compartment. Dairy foods and eggs x Most pre-packed dairy foods have a recommended ‘use by /best before/best by/’ date stamped on them. Store them in the refrigerator compartment and use within the recommended time. x Butter can become tainted by strong smelling foods so it is best stored in a sealed container. x Eggs can be stored in the refrigerator compartment. EN-10 Red meat x Place fresh red meat on a plate and loosely cover with waxed paper, plastic wrap or foil. x Store cooked and raw meat on separate plates. This will prevent any juice lost from the raw meat from contaminating the cooked product. Poultry x Fresh whole birds should be rinsed inside and out with cold running water, dried and placed on a plate. Cover loosely with plastic wrap or foil. x Poultry pieces should also be stored this way. Whole poultry should never be stuffed until just before cooking, otherwise food poisoning may result. x Cool and refrigerate cooked poultry quickly. Remove stuffing from poultry and store separately. Fish and seafood x Whole fish and fillets should be used on the day of purchase. Until required, refrigerate on a plate loosely covered with plastic wrap, waxed paper or foil. x If storing overnight or longer, take particular care to select very fresh fish. Whole fish should be rinsed in cold water to remove loose scales and dirt and then patted dry with paper towels. Place whole fish or fillets in a sealed plastic bag. EN-11 x Keep shellfish chilled at all times. Use within 1 – 2 days. Precooked foods and leftovers x These should be stored in suitable covered containers so that the food will not dry out. x Keep for only 1 – 2 days. x Reheat leftovers only once and until steaming hot. Vegetable and fresh fruit x The vegetable container is the optimum storage location for fresh fruit and vegetables. x Take care not to store the following at temperatures of less than 7°C for long periods: Citrus fruit, melons, aubergines, pineapple, papaya, courgettes, passion fruit, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes x Undesirable changes will occur at low temperatures such as softening of the flesh, browning and/or accelerated decaying. x Do not refrigerate avocados (until they are ripe), bananas, and mangoes. FREEZING AND STORING FOOD IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT Using the freezer compartment EN-12 To store deep-frozen food. To make ice cubes. To freeze food. Note: Ensure that the freezer compartment door has been closed properly. Purchasing frozen food Packaging must not be damaged. Use by the ‘use by /best before/best by/’ date. If possible, transport deep-frozen food in an insulated bag and place quickly in the freezer drawers. Storing frozen food Store at -18°C or colder. Avoid opening the freezer compartment door unnecessarily. Freezing fresh food Freeze fresh and undamaged food only. To retain the best possible nutritional value, flavour and colour, vegetables should be blanched before freezing. Aubergines, peppers, zucchini and asparagus do not require blanching. Note: Keep food to be frozen away from food which is already frozen. zThe following foods are suitable for freezing: Cakes and pastries, fish and seafood, meat, game, poultry, vegetables, fruit, herbs, eggs without shells, dairy products such as cheese and butter, ready meals and leftovers such as soups, stews, cooked meat and fish, potato dishes, soufflés and desserts. EN-13 zThe following foods are not suitable for freezing: Types of vegetables, which are usually consumed raw, such as lettuce or radishes, eggs in shells, grapes, whole apples, pears and peaches, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, soured milk, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Packing frozen food To prevent food from losing its flavour or drying out, place food in airtight packaging. ϭ͘ Place food in packaging. Ϯ͘ Remove air. ϯ͘ Seal the wrapping. ϰ͘ Label packaging with contents and dates of freezing. Suitable packaging: Plastic film, tubular film made of polyethylene, aluminium foil, freezer containers. These products are available from specialist outlets. Recommended storage times of frozen food in the freezer compartment These times vary depending on the type of food. The food that you freeze can be preserved from 1 to 12 months (minimum at -18°C). EN-14 Storage time Food Bacon, casseroles, milk 1 month Bread, ice cream, sausages, pies, 2 months prepared shellfish, oily fish Non-oily fish, shellfish, pizza, scones and 3 months muffins Ham, cakes, biscuits, beef and lamb 4 months chops, poultry pieces Butter, vegetables (blanched), eggs whole and yolks, cooked crayfish, minced meat 6 months (raw), pork (raw) Fruit (dry or in syrup), egg whites, beef (raw), whole chicken, lamb (raw), fruit 12 months cakes Never forget: x When you freeze fresh foods with a ‘use by /best before/best by/’ date, you must freeze them before the expiry of this date. x Check that the food was not already frozen. Indeed, frozen food that has thawed completely must not be refrozen. x Once defrosted, food should be consumed quickly.

Fill the ice cube tray (not supplied) with ¾ full of drinking water and place in the freezer drawer. If the ice cube tray is stuck to the freezer drawer, loosen with a blunt tool only. To loosen the ice cubes, twist the ice cube tray slightly or hold briefly under flowing water. EN-15 DEFROSTING This appliance is equipped with a frost free system. This system enables the freezer compartment to remain permanently ice-free, however, the food stored in the freezer drawers will not defrost. DOOR CONVERSION If you need to hinge your doors on the opposite side it is recommended that you call your local authorized service agent to make this conversion or ask a technician. Before you reverse the doors, you should ensure the appliance is unplugged and empty. It is recommended to use a crosshead screwdriver and a spanner (both not supplied).

1. Remove the top cover from the appliance.

2. Remove the screw that fixes the upper hinge

cover to the appliance and then remove the 3 screws from the upper hinge. Remove the upper hinge.

3. Lift the fridge door and place it on a padded surface to prevent it from scratching.

4. Remove the screws from the middle hinge and

then remove the middle hinge. Lift the freezer door and place it on a padded surface to prevent it from scratching. Remove the blank covers and then fit them to the opposite side.

5. Remove the screws, bottom hinge with

adjustable foot from the bottom of the appliance.

6. Remove the remaining adjustable foot from the other side of the bottom of the appliance.

7. Remove the short pin from the bottom hinge. Refit the short pin to the other hole of the bottom

hinge. Reattach the bottom hinge to the opposite side. EN-16

8. After replacing freezer door, screw the middle hinge back onto the opposite side.

Ensure the freezer door is aligned horizontally and vertically so that the seals are closed on all sides before finally tightening the hinge.

9. Fit the fridge door back into place. Reattach the upper hinge on the opposite side with screws and

then fix the upper hinge cover to the upper hinge by tightening the screw. Attach the top cover to the opposite side. x Ensure the fridge door is aligned horizontally and vertically so that the seals are closed on all sides before finally tightening the upper hinge.

TIPS FOR SAVING ENERGY

For the most energy efficient use of your appliance: x Ensure your appliance has adequate ventilation as recommended in the installation instructions. x Allow warm food and drinks to cool down before placing in the appliance. x Thaw frozen food in the refrigerator compartment and use the low temperature of the frozen food to cool refrigerated food. x Keep door openings to a minimum. x Open the appliance as briefly as possible. x Ensure that the fridge and freezer doors are always closed properly. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.

1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains

2. Take out the food and store in a cool location.

3. Clean the appliance with a soft cloth, warm

water and detergent.

4. Wipe the door seal with clear water only and

then wipe dry thoroughly.

5. After cleaning reconnect and set the

temperature as desired.

6. Put the food back into the appliance.

The LED lights in the fridge compartment cannot be replaced by the user. If the LED lights stop working, please contact the local authorised service agent. THE COLDEST PART OF THE REFRIGERATOR

The symbol indicates the location of the coldest part of your refrigerator. This area is in between the vegetable compartment at the bottom and the symbol at the top, or the shelf at the same height. In order to maintain the temperature in this area, make sure not to change the position of this shelf. In pulsed air refrigerators (equipped with a fan) or No Frost models, the coldest area symbol is not shown because the temperature is uniform throughout the interior.

INSTALLING THE TEMPERATURE INDICATOR

To help you adjust your refrigerator correctly, it is equipped with a temperature indicator that you can use to control the average temperature in the coldest area. WARNING: This indicator is only intended for use in your refrigerator. Do not use it in another refrigerator (as the coldest area will not be the same) or for any other purpose. TEMPERATURE INDICATOR: THE COLDEST PART OF YOUR REFRIGERATOR CHECKING THE TEMPERATURE IN THE COLDEST AREA

• Using the temperature indicator, you should regularly check that the temperature is correct in the coldest part of your refrigerator. The temperature inside your refrigerator depends on a number of factors, such as the outside room temperature, how full your refrigerator is, and how often you open the door. Take these factors into consideration when adjusting your appliance. When the indicator shows "OK", it means your thermostat is set properly and the temperature inside your refrigerator is correct. If the indicator is white it means the temperature is too high, so you should increase the thermostat and wait for 12 hours before checking the indicator again. After loading the refrigerator or opening the door, the indicator may turn white for a few seconds.
