Keep the unit plugged in. Remove the screw of the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the ⊕ side facing up. Replace the compartment and screw. Do not unplug the unit during replacement, otherwise the time will reset.
Why does the clock display 0:00 after a power outage?
The backup battery is low or dead. Replace the battery with a new CR2032. If the problem persists, contact a Sony dealer.
How to use the iPod with this alarm clock?
Place the iPod in the dock connector on the front. Adjust the rear support. Press ▶/■ to start playback. You can also use the iPod controls or the remote control. Charging of the iPod starts automatically.
How to set the time zone?
Press TIME ZONE for at least 2 seconds. The zone number blinks. Use TIME SET +/- to select your zone (0, 1 or 2). Press TIME ZONE to confirm. By default, zone 1 corresponds to Central European time.
How to disable automatic daylight saving time adjustment?
Press both CLOCK and ALARM DISPLAY simultaneously for at least 2 seconds. The DST indicator disappears. To reactivate, repeat the same operation.

Check that the alarm is activated (ALARM A or B indicator is lit). If the mode is RADIO or iPod, make sure the volume is set. For iPod alarm, ensure the iPod is properly connected and powered on.
