Frequently Asked Questions - SC-P5000 EPSON

How to load roll paper on the Epson SC-P5000?

Place the roll on the supplied spindle, insert the spindle into the holders at the back of the printer, press the % button to release the press roller, then insert the paper edge into the slot until the message changes. Press % again to feed the paper.

What inks are used by the SC-P5000 printer?

The printer uses Epson UltraChrome HDX pigment inks in 10 colors: Cyan, Light Cyan, Vivid Magenta, Vivid Light Magenta, Yellow, Orange, Green, Light Black, Photo Black/Matte Black, and either Violet or Light Light Black depending on the ink set.

How to replace an ink cartridge?

Open the cartridge cover (left or right depending on color), remove the empty cartridge by pulling it upward, then insert the new cartridge until it clicks. The replacement is detected automatically.

What to do if an error message appears on the screen?

Refer to the Troubleshooting section of the manual. Common messages indicate paper jam, low ink level, or missing cartridge. Follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the error.

How to clean the print head?

In the Maintenance menu on the control panel, select Head Cleaning. You can also start cleaning from the printer driver via the Utility tab (Windows) or Epson Printer Utility 4 (Mac).

Can I print borderless on roll paper?

Yes, borderless printing is supported on certain roll paper sizes. Install the supplied spacing stopper if necessary (for widths from 10 to 17 inches with 2-inch spindle). Set the printer driver to Borderless Printing.

How to switch from roll paper to single sheets?

Press the ◀ Paper Source button on the control panel to switch between Roll Paper and Cut Sheet modes. You can also select the source in the printer driver.

What is the power consumption in standby mode?

In standby mode, the consumption is approximately 5.0 W. You can set an automatic power-off via the Off Timer function to save energy.

How to calibrate the printer colors?

Use the Epson Color Calibration Utility software provided on the CD. It uses the printer's built-in sensors to calibrate automatically. You can save the calibration data in the printer.

Where to find part numbers for consumables (cartridges, maintenance tanks)?

The references are given in the manual, section Options and Consumables. For example, 200 ml cartridges have codes like C13T... . Contact an Epson dealer or check epson.com for the latest references.
