How to load paper in the tray?

Pull out the tray, adjust the guides, fan and align the paper, load it face up, then close the tray. For envelopes, use the optional envelope tray.

How to clear a paper jam?

Identify the jam area (tray, feeder, ADF, etc.) following the messages on the screen. Open the corresponding door, gently remove the jammed paper, then close. Refer to the Troubleshooting chapter of the manual for specific areas.

How to connect the printer to a Wi-Fi network?

Go to Settings > Network/Ports > Wireless on the touch screen, then select your network and enter the password. You can also use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) if your router supports it.

How to replace a toner cartridge?

Open the front door, remove the old cartridge, unpack the new one, shake it gently, insert it until it clicks, then close the door. The manual details the steps for each color.

How to send a fax?

Place the document in the ADF or on the scanner glass, press Fax, dial the number using the numeric keypad, then press Start. You can also create shortcuts.

How to scan to email?

Place the document, press Email on the home screen, enter recipients, adjust scan settings, then press Send. The SMTP server must be configured beforehand.

How to set up confidential printing?

From your computer, in the print properties, select Print and Hold, choose Confidential and set a PIN code. On the printer, go to Held Jobs, select your name, enter the PIN, and start printing.

How to clean the printer?

Turn off the printer and unplug it. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth for the exterior. For the interior, follow the instructions in the Cleaning printer parts chapter. Clean the scanner with a lint-free cloth.

How to add a contact to the address book?

From a web browser, enter the printer's IP, click on Address Book, then under Contacts, add a name, email address, and/or fax number. You can also do this from the touch screen under Address Book.

What to do if the touch screen is unresponsive?

Check that the printer is on and that no error message is blocking the screen. If the problem persists, restart the printer by turning it off and on again. Refer to the Troubleshooting section of the manual for more solutions.

The warranty period starts on the date of original purchase as shown on the purchase receipt and ends 12 months later provided that the warranty period for any supplies and for any maintenance items included with the printer shall end earlier if it, or its original contents, are substantially used up, depleted, or consumed. Fuser Units, Transfer/Transport Units, Paper Feed items, if any, and any other items for which a Maintenance Kit is

available are substantially consumed when the printer displays a "Life Warning" or "Scheduled Maintenance" message for such item.

To obtain warranty service you may be required to present proof of original purchase. You may be required to deliver your product to the Remarketer or Lexmark, or ship it prepaid and suitably packaged to a Lexmark designated location. You are responsible for loss of, or damage to, a product in transit to the Remarketer or the Lexmark designated location.

When warranty service involves the exchange of a product or part, the item replaced becomes the property of the Remarketer or Lexmark. The replacement may be a new or repaired item.

The replacement item assumes the remaining warranty period of the original product.

Replacement is not available to you if the product you present for exchange is defaced, altered, in need of a repair not included in warranty service, damaged beyond repair, or if the product is not free of all legal obligations, restrictions, liens, and encumbrances.
