How to adjust the counterweight of the KENWOOD P 110 turntable?
Frequently Asked Questions - 13/02/2026
Response Notice-Facile

To properly adjust the counterweight of your KENWOOD P 110 turntable, follow these precise steps:

1. Preparing the tonearm

  • Gently lift the tonearm and place it on its designated support to avoid any damage.

2. Zeroing the balance

  • Remove the cap from the counterweight located at the rear end of the tonearm.
  • Gently turn the counterweight until the arm is perfectly balanced in a horizontal position, meaning it floats without touching or rising.

3. Adjusting the tracking force

  • Once the arm is balanced, without moving the position of the counterweight, turn the graduated ring (tracking force marker) to align the zero with the fixed marker on the arm.
  • Then, turn the entire assembly (counterweight + graduated ring) to apply the tracking force recommended by your turntable's cartridge, usually between 1 and 3 grams. This information is often indicated on the cartridge or in its specifications.

4. Final check

  • Replace the cap on the counterweight if you removed it.
  • Gently lower the arm onto a vinyl record to check that playback is stable, without skipping or sound distortion.

A precise adjustment of the counterweight ensures better sound quality and preserves the lifespan of your records and cartridge.
