Frequently Asked Questions - ML300 OPTOMA

How to turn on the OPTOMA ML300 projector?

Connect the AC adapter, then press the Power button (O) on the top of the projector. The LED indicator lights up when the projector is on.

How to connect a computer via USB for projection?

Use the included Micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Connect it to the Micro USB port of the projector and to a USB port on the computer. On the projector, select USB Display mode in the input menu. On the PC, open the virtual drive and run 'dlusb launcher.exe' (Windows only).

How to adjust the focus of the image?

Turn the focus ring around the lens until you get a sharp image. If the image remains blurry, check that the projection distance is correct (between 0.5 and 5.8 meters).

What file formats are supported by the projector?

The projector plays video formats MPEG, H.264, Xvid, MJPEG; audio formats MP3, AAC, WMA; images JPEG and BMP; and Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as PDF and TXT.

How to use the 3D function?

The projector supports 3D via DLP Link. Connect a compatible source (HDMI or VGA) and set the 3D mode in the input menu. You will need active DLP Link 3D glasses (not included).

How to clean the projector?

Always turn off the device before cleaning. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the casing. Do not use liquid or abrasive products. Do not clean the lens with a dry cloth without care (use a microfiber cloth if necessary).

What to do if the image is upside down?

Go to the menu Settings > Display > Projection and select the correct orientation: Front Desktop, Front Ceiling, Rear Desktop, or Rear Ceiling depending on your setup.

How to update the projector firmware?

Download the latest firmware version from OPTOMA's website. Create an 'update' folder on a microSD card (root) and copy the file into it. Insert the card into the projector, go to Settings > System > Information > Update and confirm. Do not turn off the power during the process.

How to use Wi-Fi display?

Plug the compatible Wi-Fi dongle (AboCom WU5205) into the USB port. On the projector, select Input > Wi-Fi Display. On your PC, connect to the wireless network 'Solomon_Awind', then launch the 'MirrorOp Sender' software and select the same network.

Can the projector be mounted on a tripod?

Yes, the projector has a standard screw hole (on the bottom) for a tripod. Simply screw a compatible tripod. The tripod is not included.
