What type of battery does the Pentax K-50 use?

The K-50 uses the rechargeable lithium-ion battery D-LI109 (supplied). It is also compatible with the battery tray D-BH109 (optional) that accepts four AA alkaline, lithium, or Ni-MH batteries.

How do I insert an SD memory card into the K-50?

Make sure the camera is turned off. Open the card slot cover on the side, insert the card with the label facing the screen until it clicks, then close the cover. The cover must be securely closed for the camera to power on.

Which lenses are compatible with the Pentax K-50?

DA, DA L, D FA, FA J lenses, as well as lenses with an A position on the aperture ring, are fully compatible. For other lenses, some functions may be limited (see p.290 of the manual).

How do I set autofocus on the K-50?

Set the focus mode selector to AF.S (single autofocus) or AF.C (continuous autofocus). Place the subject inside the AF frame and press the shutter button halfway. When the focus indicator lights up and a beep sounds, focus is achieved. Press fully to take the picture.

How do I use the built-in flash of the K-50?

Press the flash pop-up button (button with a lightning bolt) to raise it. The flash fires automatically in AUTO mode. You can select the flash mode (auto, red-eye reduction, slow sync, etc.) using the navigation button (▲▼).

How do I transfer photos from the K-50 to a computer?

Use the supplied USB cable (I-USB7) to connect the camera to the computer. Make sure the USB mode is set to MSC or PTP in the [Preferences] menu. The computer will recognize the camera as a storage device. You can also use an SD card reader.

What is the maximum ISO sensitivity of the Pentax K-50?

The ISO sensitivity can be manually set from 100 to 25600. In AUTO mode, the camera can extend sensitivity up to 25600 depending on shooting conditions.

How do I clean the CMOS sensor of the K-50?

The K-50 has a built-in anti-dust system (ultrasonic sensor cleaning). For professional cleaning, contact PENTAX after-sales service. Never use a blower or chemicals on the sensor yourself.
