1.3 Equipment Set-up
We recommend you consul a professional installer to set up your equipment Otherwise, please follow the instructions below Refer to the user manual of your TV and antenna. Make sure that the HDMI cable and outdoor components are in good condition. I you use TV SCART connection, use then well shielded SCART cable. 1.5 Usage of external USB devices
+ Itis recommended to use USB 20 storage devices or higher your device is not compatible to USB 20 specifications, recording, playback and other multimedia functions of the receiver might not work proper. + To ensure best performance of your USB storage device please format it via your receiver (through the menu “Media to FAT32 system. Other ile systems are not supported by the receiver. However, is possible to use already NTFS fommatted disk. THOMSON cannat guarantee compatiblity wth all types of USB storage devices. I you are going to use external USB HDDS (Hard Disk Drives), please consider that power spectications may exceed the supported autput of your receiver (max.5 V/800 mA). IFs0, please connect your USB HDD to an according extemal power adapter. Ki advised not to store important information on USB storage devices used with the receiver. Always make backups of data on your USB storage device before using it with this receiver. 2.6 Using the remote control

3.1 Connecting to a terrestrial antenna

3.2 Connecting to TV with HDMI cable

4.0 STARTING UP FOR THE FIRST TIME

Aspect Mode Use this option ta select the aspect ratio of your TV and the preferred conversion method. Options are: Auto (automatic detection of aspect ratio) 43 Panscan (Displays 169 widescreen broadcasts ul screen on your 43 M, 43 letrerbox (black bars on top and under the picture on à 43 TV) and 169 {use this setting for 169 TV sets). Scan made: Select Al to store scrambled and free to air channels or select Free to store only free ta air channels. Note: Scrambled channels cannot be viewed with this receiver. Connection. Your new receiver is equipped with several features to make watching TV a true pleasure. This paragraph describes these features. Please also read chapter 7.0 10 get famiiar with the menu of your receiver.
6.1 Changing channels
Following ways are possible for changing channels with your new receiver Via direct access using the 0-9 buttons. Via the channel list through OK and the PG+/PG- buttons Viathe À Y buttons.
To gain direct access to à certain channel, simpy input its number with the 0-9 buttons on the remote control Channel numbers can be up to four igits long. Entering a number with less than four digis is possible. Just wat a few seconds and your receiver wi switch to the selected channel or press OK immediately after selecting the channel number.
Press OKinviewing mode to display the Channel List. Use À W in the channel ist to highight your channel of choice and press OK once to select the highighned channel. Pres OK again to leave the channel ist mode nade the channel ti possible to use the PG+/PG- buttons as ali order to scrol page-wise through the it mr. 6.1.3 Using the À Y buttons

6.3 Selection of audio language
Some channels support a choice of audhio formats and/or languages. To select another audio Stream, press AUDIO in viewing mode. Timeshif allows you to pause Ie broadcasts and resume playback later. Te activate this function setthe Timeshifl mode in the DVA Seting menu to on by selecting Pause. For details, see 7.63. Press lin viewing mode to activate Timeshift. 6.8 Instant Recording
Your new receiver allows you to make an instant recording of the programme you are watching. Simply press RECORD to start the recording. To enter the duration for the recording, press RECORD again. Use the 0-9 buttons to enter the recording time and press OK to confim, Atthe beginning ofthe recording a recording sign wl be shown for a short while an the upper left camner of your TV screen. Te stop the recording, press M. Select Yes and press OK again to stop the recording. is possible to make 2 recordings at the same time ifthey are broadcasted on same frequency. The main menu gives you access to settings, multimedia functions and games. To acces the main menu, press MENU in viewing mode, The main menu consists of the following sub menus: Edit Channel, instalation, System Setup, Tools, Games and Media. Throughout the main menu, MENU or EXIT can be used to get back to the previous screen.
Use À Y to select Edit Channel and press OK or B to enter. Use À Ÿ tohighlight the submenu of choice and press OK to select. Press EXIT or 4 to get back t the main menu
7.1.1 TV Channel List

7.1.1.1 Adding channels to favourite lists
Channels fiom the 1/ Channel ist can be adied to up to 8 iferent favourie groups. Press FAV in TV Channels to access this function. The FAV sign on the top afthe screen il move up to indate that the Favourite function is selected. Use À W 10 select a channel yours to ad to à favourte group When the highlight is on the channel of our choice, press OK A it th al available favourte lists wil now pop up. Use À W 10 select the favourie ist you ish to addthe channel to and press OK press EXT to finale the process Favounte channel il be marked with à hear symbol. 7.1.1.2 Locking channels
Locked channels can only be matched after entering the PIN code. (DEFAULT PIN: 1234) To lock or unlock a channel, press RED wie in 1/Channe/Lst Press À W 10 select a channel and press OK 10 lock or unlock. Vou are asked ta input the PIN code. (DEFAULT PIN: 1234) Locked channels will be marked with the & symbol. Locking/unlocking multiple channels in one session is possible. When all changes have been made, press EXT nice. À confirmation banner xl pop up. Select Yes to save the changes or Nota discar.
7.113 Skipping channels
Channels marked with Sk vil be skpped when zapping channeiswiththe À W buttons. The channels vil sil be avale from the channel it.
Te mark channels for shipping, press GREEN vil in 1/Channel List. Use À W 10 select a channel and press OK to mark orunmarkt for Skipping. Channels set for kipping vil be marked with the 4 symbol. When all changes have been made, press EXIT twice. À confirmation banner will pop up Select Ve to save te changes or Mo to discar.
7.1.14 Moving channels
To enable the Move function, press YELLOW while in TV Channei List. Use À Y to select à channel and press OK to select it Now you can move the selected channel up or down inside the channels byusng À Wien the channel is on the position of your choice pres OK again The channel now fred on rt ne postion. 7.1.1.5 Editing channels
The Ed function allows you to Sor, Rename or Delete channels. To enter the Edit menu, press BLUE while in TV Channel List. The Edit Channel menu vil appear. I you made changes in the previous menu, but haven saved them yet, you will be asked to do Sort Press RED to enter the Sort menu. Use À Y 10 select soring method and press OK 0 confim Possible methods are Name (A-Z} Sorting in alphabetical order from À to Z Name (Z-A} Sorting in alphabetical order from Z to À. Free/Scramble. … Firstinthelistwil be Free-To-Air channel. Lock Allunlocked channels wil placed first in the lis Defaut: Sorting by searched Order (from lewest to highest frequency or by LCN numbering). Select Ye 1 save he changes or HO 1 dscard Delete Press BLUE in Edit Channel to enable the Delete function. The Delete sign will move up to indicate that Dati selected. Use À W to highight a channel and press OK to mark it for deletion. When you have marked al channels you wish to delete, press IT nice. À confmation banner wi be displayed Select Fer to delete the marked channels or A to cancel
7.1.2 Radio Channel List
Basicalh, the operation of the Radio Channel Lit is the same as in the TV Channel List. The only difference is that in Radio Channel List there is no video information, sa it wall always display the radio background on the preview screen.
Use this menu to delete all stored channels. Select Delete All with À W and press OK The recelver asks you to enter the pin code. (DEFAULT PIN: 1234). Inside the confrmation window select Yes with QD and press OK 10 delete or select No to cancel.

I By Channels selected, use the cursor buttons to select Scan Band and Channel No. By Frequency is selected, use the cursor buttons to select Frequency and Bandwidth, Highlight Search and press OK to start scanning. New found channels wil be added to the channel ist.

7.2.4 LCN (Logical Channel Numbering)
I LEN (Logical Channel Numbering) is activated and an LEN signal is provided by the operator, channels wil be stared in an operator defined order. Set LN 10 On to activate operator defined channel numbering or Offto stare channels in found order. This function only applis when à new channel search is performed.
This menu allows you to manage the system setings of your receiver I consists the following sub-menus: Language, System, Local Time Setting, Timer Seting, Parental Lck, OSD Setting and Auto Standby. When Timeshif is set a Pause it will start only after pressing the YELLOWAI button. Select Off to deactivate Timeshi.
