Breast Tumor Detection Aid
E amining our breasts b using X - Hand Breasts umore tetection id:
In order to be able to detect problems early on, it is recommended that all women over the age of 12 should examine their breasts every month. The best time to do this is when the breasts are least tender, normally about a week after menstruation starts. Pregnant, breast-feeding or post-menopausal women should continue self-detection once a month. If you discover a lump or any changes in your breast, seek medical attention.
- Undress and make a visual examination of the breasts and nipples according to the following postures separately, looking for changes in their contour, shape, color and skin texture and any evidence of discharge from the nipples.
(a. Arms relaxed at side, b. hands on hips, c. Arms raised above head, d. Bending forward.).

- Standing or sitting, raise your left hand over your head, and use your right hand to examine the left breast. Use the pads of three fingers to examine every part of the breast tissue by moving them in circles about the size of a dollar coin. And use varying levels of pressure when palpating, from light to deep. (Pressure will not injure the breast.) Do not lift the fingers between palpations, but instead glide them from one spot to the next. Repeat the process on the right breast. Use a lotion or examine yourself during a bath so that the skin is lubricated for easy examination.

- Lie on your left side, hold the left arm at a right angle to the rib cage with the elbow bent and use your right hand to examine the left breast according to the above-mentioned method of touch and press. Repeat the same process on the right breast.

- When examining your breasts should pay attention to the areas between the top outside quarter part of breasts and armpits specially. These areas are where most breast cancer occurs.

WHAT IS BREAST CANCER?
A cancerous tumor arises when control is lost of breast cell division and breast cells continue to multiply unnecessarily.
WHAT ARE THE CAUSATIVE FACTORS?
There are striking differences in the incidence of breast cancer in different places. Breast cancer accounts for 28.4 death per one hundred thousand in England and Wales, but only 19.2 in France, and 5.8 in Japan. There are many possible reasons for these differences, for example climate, diet, genetic inheritance, environmental toxins, patterns of birth control or breast feeding, age at first pregnancy. Most of the factors affecting breast cancer development are still unknown.
Breast cancers are believed to involve several factors including:
(1) Personal factors:
- Women with no children or late first pregnancies (aged 30 years).
- Someone who takes the hormone estrogen for a long time.
- Someone who has suffered from breast lesions that are diagnosed as lobular or ductal Atypical Hyperplasia, .
- Women who have n early onset of menstruation.
- Women who enter menopause later and have had more exposure to the hormones estrogen and progesterone.
(2) ietar factors:
The relationship between alcohol and breast cancer is consistent among associations of dietary factors and breast cancer risks, and is likely related to alcohol s (beer, wine, and li uor) ability to increase estrogen levels. Most doctors recommend no more than seven alcoholic beverages per week for women.
(3) Weight Ph sicalnacti it factors:
10 kg weight gain after menopause is associated with an increased risk of post-menopausal breast cancer. Indirect evidence exists indicating that there is an inverse relationship between amount of physical activity levels and one's risk of breast cancer.
(4) Famil Histor of Breast ancer:
A family history of breast cancer or other cancers found in association with Breast Cancer (colon, brain, ovarian, etc.) can increase a woman's risk for breast cancer. It is important to know which family members were diagnosed with that type of cancer at what age.
(5) adiation or other ternal en ironment factors:
Exposure to significant doses of radiation, etc.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, accounting for 30% of newly diagnosed cases. It is the second leading cause of cancer mortality among women in industrialized countries. In fact, breast cancer is one of the cancers that can be found early easily. Just spent a few minutes per month doing self-detection. The best prophylaxis is doing regular self-detection and seeking medical advice immediately on finding something peculiar.
If any of symptoms the following are found medical advice should be sought immediately.
- A lump or thickening in the breast or armpit tissue is the first symptom in 80 - 90% of breast cancers.
- Any change in the shape of the breasts.
- Dimpling, pitting, flaking or orange-skin like skin around the breasts.
- Nipple discharge or bleeding, pain in the breast seems to be higher than the other.
- Change in breast size or shape, or any new difference in appearance or feel of breast.
