How to turn on the camera?

Press the Power button on top of the camera. Wait for the logo to appear.

What type of batteries to use?

Use two AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries. For optimal battery life, prefer Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

How to transfer photos to a computer?

Connect the camera to the computer with the provided USB cable. The camera appears as a removable drive. Copy the files directly.

How to insert a memory card?

Why are my photos blurry?

Make sure macro mode is off for distant subjects. Hold the camera steady or use a tripod. Also check that the lens is clean.

How to delete all photos?

In playback mode, press the Menu button, select Delete All or Format in settings. Confirm the operation.

Internal memory is full, what to do?

Insert an SD card to increase capacity. Photos will then be saved to the card instead of internal memory.

How to set the date and time?

Go to the Settings menu (gear icon), select Date/Time. Use the arrows to change values, then confirm.

Congratulations are due for picking up one of the more powerful digital cameras currently available. We expect it will give you all the things you hoped for. But before you begin using it, please read through this manual carefully and follow the instructions to avoid any

Device Installation

1-1 Insert the DSC-1.3M Smart Software CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer. 1-2 Click the Utility Driver button and wait a few seconds. Setup will guide you through the software setup sequence automatically. Just follow the on-screen prompts.

confirm. If you choose Auto Flash mode or Force Flash mode, you will see the FLASH indicator blink. After the FLASH indicator stops

blinking, your camera has been charged. Now you can use the flashlight.

Auto Flash Mode: The camera will detect light automatically. If you are someplace with enough light, the

Flashlight won't be enable.

Force Flash Mode: The Flashlight will enable no matter where you are.

Downloading photos/video from camera

You have two methods to download photos/video from camera.

One: Connect the Camera to the USB port of your computer, as shown in the picture. Power on your computer. Click the

PhotoImpression icon on Windows Desktop, or choose Start > Program Files >

ArcSort PhotoImpression 3.0> PhotoImpression 3.0. The following PhotoImpression

main screen will appear.

Using DSC-1.3M Smart as a video camera

Power on the computer. Click the Start button on Windows Taskbar, and choose Programs > ArcSoft VideoImpression > VideoImpression.

The following Videolpression main screen will appear.

Click Capture button and the Capture screen will appear.
