Note : for further information, refer to the CIAT guarantee exercise. English français The thermodynamic generators AQUACIAT Series ILZHE air/ water are outdoor packaged units equipped in series with : In order to avoid all risks of accident during the installation, commissioning and adjustment operations, it is imperative to take into consideration the specificities of material, such as : – refrigerant circuit under pressure – presence of refrigerant fluid – presence of voltage – siting Only qualified and experienced personnel should work on such equipment. Recommendations and instructions mentioned on the maintenance brochures, stickers or specific instructions must be respected. Conform to norms and regulations in force. IMPORTANT : before working on the unit, make sure that the electrical supply is cut. – Buffer capacity (ILZHE only). – Electrical auxiliary device (ILZHE only). – Hydraulic accessories. – Complete MRS5.1 electronic control. They are tested and checked in factory and delivered with a load of R407C.

– Low sound level compressor. – Brazed plates exchanger. – Air-cooled condenser. – Propeller fan(s) with speed variation in cooling mode.

Check the unit and conformity of delivery on arrival on site. In case of damaged unit or uncomplete delivery, note discrepancies on the delivery voucher. IMPORTANT : you must confirm your reservations by registered letter to the shipping agent within the 3 days following delivery.

Before handling, positioning and connecting the unit, the installer will check the following points : – These units are to be installed outside, in the vicinity of the building, on a terrace or in a garden. They are designed for operating under the rain, but can also be installed under a shelter, open on 4 sides. If more heating than cooling is planned, siting privileging the sun will be preferable. If little heating is planned, adopt a northern orientation. – The surface of the ground or structure will be resistant enough to support the weight of the unit. – Position the unit above the average snow height of the area where the group is to be installed. – The unit must be perfectly level. – The group must be perfectly accessable for ease in carrying out maintenance and servicing operations. – No obstacle should impede the free circulation of air on the air exchanger (intake and discharge). Sound level : our units have been designed for a low sound level operation. However, when planning the installation, take into consideration the outside environment and the type of building for radiated and transmitted noise (vibrations). If need be, ask for a sound technician’s assessment.

Each unit has a manufacturer’s data plate with an identification number. This number is to be quoted in all correspondance.

The duration of the guarantee is 12 months, starting from the date of commissioning, which must be carried out within the 3 months following the invoicing date. In all other cases, its duration is 15 months from the invoicing date. When the commissioning is carried out by CIAT or a CIAT approved technician, the guarantee covers totally the parts, the refrigerant and electrical circuits, working hours and travelling, each time the fault is attributable to CIAT or its material. When the commissioning is not carried out by CIAT, the guarantee only covers the defective parts as well as the refrigerant and electrical circuits assembled in factory, except if the recognized fault is not attributable to the manufacturer. Installation garden Installation terrace

Once the site has been selected, proceed with the positioning of the unit. Take into account the weight of the unit (see table “ Technical characteristics ”). Main functions : – Hot or cold water temperature control. – Two types of controls possible. – Fix setting on the water return. – Drifting of the set point as a function of the outside temperature (standard configuration).

The circulating pump offers a choice of 3 speeds. The speed will be determined as a function of the installation pressure drops and of the unit’s available pressure curves. To modify the circulating pump speed : – on models 22 to 30, turn the circulating pump adjusting wheel – on models 50 to 65, open the circulating pump hood and reposition the removable contact. The MRS5.1 presents the following characteristics : – Control of operating parameters. – Defrosting of unit by cycle reversal. – Fan(s) speed variation in cooling mode. – Faults diagnosis (level 0, 1 and 2 faults). – Memorization of faults in case of current cut. – Shedding and repowering of electrical auxiliary supplies.

– Install a filter upstream from the unit water inlet. – Respect the flow direction indicated on the unit pipes (inlet – outlet). – The pipes are carefully insulated in order to avoid losses and condensation. – The pipes should not be subjected to any stress. – Flexible connections are recommended for the connection of water pipings in order to reduce to the minimum the transmission of vibrations to the building. These connections have to be assembled when the unit is installed on resilient mounts (vibration isolators). – Drain the unit when there is a risk of frost. – Utilization of glycol must not overpass 15% in order not to damage the unit. Note : the maximum working pressure on the water side will be 3 bars (approx).. The compressor operation is under the dependance of the electronic module. As a function of the difference between the cold water (or hot water) return temperature and the calculated setting, the electronic module will request compressor running or stop. The cold or hot water control sensor is positioned on the exchanger water return. Below –10°C outside temperature, the thermodynamic unit stops and the electrical auxiliary units take the relay. The ILZHE can be controlled through 3 types of external controls : – The Climbox 3 programmer. – The all or nothing entries. – The MCAD5 remote control.

Control of unit by CLIMBOX 2 programmer (optional)

This entry must ATTENTION : do not connect a phase or a neutral on terminals 1 and 2 of terminal box J2. Wiring diagram. H Description of faults levels :

  • The green LEDs correspond to the operation of the associated symbol (compressor running, auxiliary electrical heating or cooling mode). devices, During a compressor anti-short cycle, the compressor running green LED flashes. – Level 0 fault : automatic restart of the unit after fault acquittal and a time delay – Level 1 fault : the unit stops ; It is possible to relaunch the electrical auxiliary devices for a 48hrs heating period (while awaiting for repair). – Level 2 fault : unit stops. Heating is impossible.
  • The yelllow LEDs permit visualizing the requested action (run/ stop, access to parameters, heat pump relaunching, frost-free mode).
  • The red LEDs signal a level 1 or 2 operating fault. In case of level 1 fault, the key 8 (relaunch) permits relaunching the electrical auxiliary devices for a 48 hours heating period (while waiting for repair). The display panel indicates the 48 hrs backward counting. For units fitted with a switch on their supply source, the opening of the electrical door is only possible when the switch is on “ off ”. To carry out measurements, make adjustments on the regulation card, visualize the faults on the MRS5.1 card. It should therefore be back on position “ On ”, electrical door open. H Parameters available for vizualization ATTENTION : the operation can only be done by qualified staff. P35, P36, P51 (see para. “commissioning”) IMPORTANT : the safety devices must not be shunted. P65 : software version MRS5.1 (press + for version and – for index) Note : the setting values of the unit are pre-set in factory and cannot be modified. Software version MCAD5 by pressing 5 sec. The lamp test key H Low pressure pressostat This pressostat has a safety function. It is connected on the compressor intake pipe. It controls the low pressure. If the pressure goes down below the setting value, the compressor supply is cut and displayed on the MRS5.1 display panel (fault D.5.0). The manual acquittal is only required if 5 faults occurred within 24 hours (Fault D5.2 in heating and fault D5.1 in cooling). Start : 0.5 bar Trip : 2 bar Automatic reset thermostat Liaison RS485 fault (standard visualization by strokes on the display panel)

Safety and regulation devices All the unit safety devices are controlled by the electronic card MRS5.1. If a safety device stops the group for a level 1or 2 fault, the fault must be read on the MRS5.1 display panel ; solve the problem, then cancel with the RS5.1 reset key. The unit will start again after a minimum period corresponding to the compressor anti-short cycle.

français English H High pressure pressostat H Immersed electrodes BS safety thermostat This pressostat has a safety function. It is connected on the compressor discharge pipe and controls the high pressure. In heating mode : if the pressure overpasses the setting value, the regulation setting is decreased by 1K, with display on the MRS5.1 (flashing point on the right of the display panel). After 5 HP overpassings (therefore 5 degradations of the setting) within 24 hours, the unit stops. The fault is signalled on the display panel (fault D6.1) and a manual acquittal is necessary (the fault was probably caused by a water flow fault). This device has a safety function. The contact opens when the water temperature in the tank goes above 78°C. This thermostat is manual reset type, and is located at the upper left side of the electrical panel. H Internal protection of compressor motor assembly The compressor is equipped with an internal protection which acts as a safety device and protects the electrical motor against overheating. A sensor positioned at the compressor outlet also controls the discharge temperature (B7). In case of fault, the compressor stops and it is displayed on the MRS5.1 card display panel (fault D1.0). The manual acquittal is only necessary if the fault occurs more than 5 times within 24 hours (fault D6.1in cooling and D6.2 in heating) but the discharge temperature must have gone down 10°C below the limit. In cooling mode : if the measured value overpasses the setting, the unit stops and the fault is shown on the display panel (fault D.6.0). The manual acquittal is only required if 5 faults occurred within 24 hours (fault D6.2). Start : 28 bar Deutsche Trip : 23 bar Automatic reset thermostat. H Refrigerant fluid sensor/exchanger B5 This sensor has a safety role. It is located on the exchanger water side pipe and controls the temperature. This sensor has a safety function for the plate heat exchanger. It is positioned at the exchanger outlet (refrigerant fluid side) and controls the refrigerant fluid temperature (active function in cooling mode only). If the temperature goes down below the MRS5.1 setting value, the compressor stops and it is displayed on the MRS5.1 display panel (fault D3.2). If the sensor detects a temperature below – 2°C during one minute, the unit stops for 6 minutes with display on the MRS5.1 card display panel (fault D4.0). H B2 plate exchanger antifrost sensor – water side If the temperature has not risen above 8°C during these 6 minutes, the unit goes to fault level 2 (D4.2). The manual acquittal is then required and only possible if the temperature goes above 8°C. H Water flow controller by FS differential pressure This device has a safety function. It is mounted on the pipe between the exchanger water inlet and outlet and controls the correct water flow. H Wiring liaison fault If the flow is insufficient, a supply cut occurs, with display on the MRS5.1 display panel (fault D2.2). MODEL 22 to 90

The sensor type connections, MCAD5 and Climbox 2 connected to the MRS5.1 are surveyed. In case of a cut (open circuit) or short cycling, the MRS5.1 signals it on its display panel. Location of sensors (simplified refrigerant circuit) : H Hydraulic module antifrost heater H Hydraulic circuit anti-frost protection The ILZHE are units designed for all year around operation, with an antifrost protection of the hydraulic module. An electrical heater maintains the temperature above + 2°C inside the hydraulic module. Important : the electrical panel must be constantly under voltage so that the antifrost function be ensured. All the precautions must be taken for avoiding an accidental cut of the electrical supply This protection is ensured by the electrical auxiliary devices. It allows maintaining the temperature of the water loop above : + 6°C for installations with fan coil units + 16°C for heating/cooling floor installations. This function has a priority in relation to shedding. Only faults d2.2, d2.0 and D9.6.2. can cancel this function.
