Frequently Asked Questions - COLOR COLONNE TRIANGLE

How to unpack the COLOR COLONNE speaker?
Open the box, remove all staples, then take out the speaker. Check for any defects and contact the retailer if necessary. Do not touch the titanium dome of the tweeter with your fingers.
Which cable to use for connection?
Use a cable of sufficient cross-section specially designed for loudspeakers. TRIANGLE High Definition cables are recommended. Use identical lengths for the left and right channels.
How to clean the speaker?
The titanium dome of the tweeter should be lightly brushed with a very soft non-synthetic brush. The cone driver membrane can be wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth. The synthetic surface can be cleaned with water.
What is the minimum distance between speakers for a stereo effect?
The distance between the speakers must be at least 2 meters and the listening area should also be at least 2 meters from the speakers to ensure a good stereo effect.
How to avoid interference on a CRT television?
If a speaker is placed near a CRT television, maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter to avoid color distortion due to magnetism. Center channels are shielded and do not require this precaution.
What height for rear channels in home theater?
Place the rear channels between 1.5 meters and 2 meters high. They should provide ambience without being localized by the listener, so do not place them at ear level.
What is the warranty on the speaker?
TRIANGLE speakers come with a 5-year warranty (2 years for the subwoofer amplifier), from the date of purchase. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and is valid only for the first user upon receipt of the warranty coupon and invoice.
What to do in case of distortion?
If the treble becomes unpleasant or the speakers seem to distort, immediately lower the volume. Prolonged distortion can damage the speakers. Use an amplifier with sufficient power to avoid clipping.
How to place the center channel?
The center channel must be placed stably. Use a stand designed for this purpose to ensure the best stability. Do not hesitate to contact your retailer for advice.
How to recycle the speaker at end of life?
At the end of its life, take your speaker to a specialized retail point for recycling. It contains many reusable or recyclable materials.

USER MANUAL COLOR COLONNE TRIANGLE

Thank you and congratulations on the purchase of your TRIANGLE audio video product.

At TRIANGLE, we take the utmost care during design and manufacture to ensure that you will have many hours of enjoyment and listening pleasure with our products. Your TRIANGLE loudspeaker has been developed for maximum ease of use, for the highest level satisfaction in terms of listening experience. You will get the best from this high-quality product by following these guidelines.

UNPACKING

Open the box and remove all staples, then carefully take the speaker out of the box. When unpacking, if you notice any defects on any of its elements, contact your dealer.

Before disposing of the packaging, check that nothing is left inside.

Connections :

For optimal sound reproduction, we suggest you choose a loudspeaker cable of sufficient high quality to connect your amplifier to your TRIANGLE loudspeakers. TRIANGLE's high definition OFC cable will guarantee the best results. You should use cables of the same length for the left and right channels and take special care to respect the + and - polarities for each channel.

ATTENTION:

If one of the speakers is placed next to a television, color settings may be affected by the speaker's magnetism. Keep a minimum distance of 1m . This precaution is not necessary for central speakers, which are shielded (protected against magnetic field interference).

Positioning for the stereo:

When positioning your loudspeakers, apply the following rules:

  • Avoid rooms with too much reverberation, such as tiled rooms without carpets or curtains.
  • Your listening area should not be too close to the loudspeakers, leave a minimum of 2 ~m .
  • The distance between the speakers should be a minimum of 2 ~m for a good stereo effect. If possible, place the speakers so that they «diffuse» along the

  • If possible, place the speakers so that sound is «diffused» lengthwise within the room.
  • Avoid placing them in corners as this excites the room's own resonance. Leave at least 40~cm between the wall and the speaker. Adjust the position of the speakers in relation to the rear wall. Generally, a position close to the rear wall improves the response in low frequencies (to the detriment of the image) and inversely, a position far from the wall reproduces a wide and deep sound image. Carry out several test positions to find the best room set up.

Positioning for Home Cinema:

A typical home cinema installation includes:

  1. Two main left and right speakers
  2. A central speaker
  3. One or several subwoofoers
  4. Several surround speakers

  5. signal 5:1:2 rear speakers

  6. signal 6:1:3 rear speakers
  7. signal 7:1:4 rear speakers

To place the main speakers in the best position, follow the same rules as for a stereo installation (see previous paragraph on stereo positioning).

  • The central speaker should be placed along the line formed by the two main speakers. Special The central speaker should be placed along the line formed by the two main speakers. Special stands are available for the central speakers (contact your dealer).

  • For home cinema setups a subwoofer is particularly recommended to reproduce the low register special effects channel featured on supports such as audio or video DVDs. The positioning of the subwoofer is not critical if you select a crossover frequency below 80Hz . Above this frequency, it is better to move the subwoofer closer to the main speakers, the best position being in between the two main speakers. Ensure that it is not placed in the corner of the room to avoid creating unpleasant resonance.

  • We recommend that you place the rear speakers at between 1.5 and 2 ~m in height. Their role is to reproduce surround sound; the listener should not be able to locate them and they should not be placed at ear level. TRIANGLE's rear speakers are supplied with special wall mount accessories. Ensure that you take into account the weight of the speaker when fixing it onto the wall. You will find further instructions for configuring your installation in your A/V amplifier owner manual.

Choosing the Amplifier;

For optimal results, it is important to choose a good quality amplifier with sufficient power. It is preferable to use a powerful amplifier within reasonable limits, with less risk of distortion, than demanding too much from a less powerful amplifier, which will ultimately clip and seriously risk damaging your loudspeakers. Finally, remember that a volume dial set at medium position does not mean that the amplifier is at «medium» power. It mainly depends on input sensitivity and source output level.
