What is the maximum depth of use for the R3/R3FX torches?

The SEAC R3 and R3FX torches are designed for a maximum depth of 100 meters.

How do I insert the battery into the torch?

Unscrew the aluminum cap at the rear, insert the battery with the positive pole (+) facing the head of the torch, then screw the cap back on. Check the polarity and lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease.

What lighting modes are available?

The R3 model offers three modes: maximum intensity, reduced intensity (30% power), and flashing. The R3FX model has only an On/Off switch (ON/OFF).

How do I charge the battery?

Remove the battery from the body, place it in the charger respecting the polarities, then plug the charger into a USB adapter 5 V, 1 to 2 A using the micro-USB cable. A red LED indicates charging; it turns green or goes out when the battery is full.

How does the switch safety feature work?

The torch has a locking ring under the switch. By turning the ring fully, the word 'ON' is no longer visible and the switch is locked. Turn the ring in the opposite direction to unlock the switch.

What should I do in case of water ingress?

Immediately open the body, remove the battery, rinse the internal parts with fresh water, then dry them completely before reassembling. Also check the O-rings.

What type of battery can I use?

Use only a Li-ion 18650 battery of 3.7 V and 2200 mAh. Never use any other type of battery and always check the polarity to avoid short circuits.

What is the battery life of the torch?

At full power, the battery life is 2 hours 15 minutes. On the R3 model, at low power, it reaches 8 hours.

How do I maintain the O-rings?

Clean the O-rings and apply a thin layer of silicone grease at each battery replacement or after prolonged diving to ensure a watertight seal.

Is a USB charger included?

The torch comes with a battery charger, but the power adapter is not included. SEAC recommends using a USB adapter 5 V, 1 to 2 A to charge the battery.

GENERAL WARNINGS

WARNING

Before using the torch, make sure you have read this manual in its entirety.

WARNING! Never point the torch into your eyes or the eyes of other people, either on dry land or during the dive.

INSERTING BATTERY

• Unscrew the aluminium cap at the end of the handle, turning counter-clockwise.
• Insert the battery, making sure that the positive pole (+) is pointing into the torch.
• Grease the sealing O-rings with a layer of silicone grease.
• Screw the aluminium terminal at the end of the handle back on, turning clockwise.

WARNING

Failure to fully tighten the cap could result in water leaking into the torch during use.

- Check that the torch turns on using the switch.

WARNING

If the batteries are inserted incorrectly (inverted polarity), a short circuit will be created, causing irreversible damage and a risk that the torch could explode.

SWITCH

The R3 torch has a sliding magnetic switch with three positions: 100% light output, low power setting (30% of maximum power), and flashing. The R3 FX version has only the ON/OFF function.

ENGAGING OR DISENGAGING THE SAFETY

The torch features an exclusive and effective safety system, designed to prevent the torch from switching on accidentally. To engage the safety, rotate the round ring nut located right behind the switch. Turn it all the way and the word "ON" on the switch will no longer be visible and the switch will be locked. To disengage the safety, turn the ring the other way until the word "ON" is visible on the switch. In this position the switch is not secured and is operative.

PRE-DIVE INSPECTION

• If your torch has not been used recently, check the condition of the batteries by ensuring that it switches on.
• Check that the body is fully closed.
• As soon as you enter the water, check that no bubbles emerge from the body of the torch.

RECHARGING THE BATTERY

WARNING

Pay the utmost attention to ensuring that there are no flammable objects or products near the battery while it is charging.

• Unscrew the end cap counter-clockwise (where the strap attaches).
• Pull the battery out of the torch body.
• Insert the battery in its seat in the battery charger, taking care to match the polarity direction shown on the battery charger and the battery itself. They must always match.
• Plug the micro-USB cable connector into the port on the charger and connect the other end to a 5-Volt, 1-2 Amp power adapter. A red LED will turn on immediately on the top of the battery charger, on the micro-USB port side. This indicates that the battery is charging. When the battery is fully charged the LED will turn green or turn off. Unplug the connector plugged to the power adapter or computer USB port first, and then unplug the micro-USB connector from the charger.

WARNING

Avoid leaving the battery connected to the power once it is charged, and in any event not longer than a few hours. Failure to do so could cause damage to the product and pose a danger to people and/or things.

FLOODING

If water gets into the torch, open the body, remove the battery, and immediately rinse the internal parts in fresh water. Then dry everything with a cloth and a hair dryer using warm air, paying close attention

to mechanical parts. Remove any oxide that may have formed on the metal parts and conduct an operations test.

If a significant quantity of water has entered the torch and has remained there for a long period, open the torch body and immediately rinse the internal parts in fresh water. We suggest that you immediately contact a competent repair center or contact the closest SEAC shop.

USAGE RESTRICTIONS

• The maximum operating depth is 200 m.
• Because of the high temperatures that can arise in the torch when used out of the water, we recommend that you use it exclusively underwater.

MAINTENANCE AND TRANSPORT

It is important to abide by the following instructions:

• Always transport the torch in a bag that will protect it from any blows.
• When you aren't using the torch, always make sure you have fully inserted the safety in order to prevent the torch from switching on accidentally, which could cause fires. For extended transport in the trunk or hold, it's good practice to always remove the batteries from the torch. This provision may be mandatory with certain airlines.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
• After a dive (sea, lake, or pool), always rinse with fresh water and dry.
• Check the condition of the gaskets (O-rings) every time you open the body of the torch.
• Clean and grease the parts involved in opening the torch with silicone grease.
• Avoid cleaning the torch with products containing chlorine (sodium hypochlorite/bleach, etc.), aggressive surfactants (such as degreasers), or solvents to avoid damaging the rust protectant anodic treatment, the plastic parts, and the sealing gaskets.
• It is advisable to have your product inspected annually by an authorised SEAC center.

SEAC declines all responsibility for damage caused to the user resulting from improper use of equipment. The same is true of direct or indirect damage of any kind caused to people or things

resulting from any periods of disuse of the product or incorrect use of the same.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

SEAC guarantees the product two years from the time of purchase.

SEAC strongly recommends that you keep your sales receipt as evidence of your date of purchase.

The warranty does not include parts subject to normal wear and tear:

- O-ring

- Batteries.

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

• Mechanical blows.
• Use in excessively chlorinated or polluted water.
• Prolonged exposure to intense sources of heat above 70 °C.
• Damage to the threads caused by screwing improperly.

The warranty will be forfeited if:

• The equipment is used improperly, failing to comply with the instructions.
• The owner makes changes to or tampers with the product, or has personally conducted repairs, or if these procedures were conducted by unauthorized personnel.

WARNING

Do not dispose of the battery or the torch in the environment at the end of its life cycle.

Dispose of the product at a special collection point.

Disposal of electrical and electronic equipment in the European
